While it doesn’t come with all the fancy extras some higher-end boards boast, what it does offer is simplicity, solid performance, and an accessible price tag. At 32” wide, it technically sits at the narrowest point we’d recommend for a fishing SUP, but once you’re on it, it genuinely feels more spacious and stable than you’d expect. We’ve stood, paddled hard, even sat down to tinker with a GoPro, and never once did it feel sketchy or wobbly.

What sets the Atoll apart for us is how lightweight and travel-friendly it is. Carrying it in the included backpack was a breeze, and it was compact enough for us to haul into the backcountry or stash in our car without taking up half the trunk. The NORTHERN LITES SUP Angler is one of the most thoughtfully designed paddleboards we’ve ever used. The extra-wide 35″ frame made a huge difference in stability. During testing, we used the board to reel in a big, and it felt rock solid on the water. With a weight capacity of up to 430 lbs, we could comfortably carry all our gear without sacrificing performance.

Now, let’s talk about the attention to detail. The rod holder is rugged and adaptable. It held everything from ultralights to heavier setups with no fuss. We also appreciated the Clam waterproof phone case. This case floats and still lets you use your touchscreen for photos or maps. Meanwhile, the large EVA foam deck gave us great traction even when things got wet, and cleaning off fish slime was surprisingly easy thanks to the grooved drainage.

We were beyond impressed with the CETANA Extra Wide Stand Up Paddle Board. Thanks to its dual-chamber construction and recessed deck design, we immediately noticed how steady it was, even with a bit of gear strapped on. At 35″ wide and 7″ thick, it offered a ton of surface area and buoyancy, giving us a real sense of control whether we were gliding across calm lakes or navigating choppier waters.

What stood out, though, was its versatility, especially when we tried it out for a bit of fishing. The included rod holder and multiple D-rings made it super easy to customize our setup with all the necessary gear. We didn’t feel cramped at all, even with everything loaded on, and the universal mount gave us the flexibility to attach other accessories like an action camera or GPS.

BOTE Rackham Aero

Best High-End. If you don’t mind investing your money, you should definitely check out the BOTE Rackham Aero. With a width of 38″, it offers incredible stability, making it a great choice for fishing or leisurely cruising without the worry of tipping over with every little movement. The standout feature here is its flexibility. We’ve used it as a traditional SUP and also equipped it with the APEX pedal drive and removable aero seat, transforming it into a fishing machine.

Moreover, it handled small chops quite well and tracked surprisingly well for its size. We also loved how it packed down neatly into its included bag and fit comfortably in our garage with ease. All in all, we found the Rackham Aero to be a highly capable hybrid that’s perfect for those seeking comfort, versatility, and fishing-friendly features all in one package.

Best for Pro Anglers. Do you consider yourself a fishing fanatic? If so, then look no further than the Freein Fishing SUP. Though on the pricier side, it’s the perfect choice for serious anglers. This 35-inch wide paddleboard is like a floating mattress. It felt comfortable yet completely secure, even when we were reeling in a feisty fish. What’s more, the reinforced drop-stitch technology makes it extremely rigid.

Created for anglers, this paddleboard comes with four accessory bases and two rod holders. On top of that, the bungee system on both ends became my gear haven, keeping everything secure and within easy reach. Also, the deck pad was fantastic. With the BERRYPRO Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard, you’ll finally be able to explore those remote lakes easily. We kid you not, this paddleboard is an angler’s dream. At 12 ft and 34″, it was both nice and stable, even when we were hauling gear. We especially appreciated the 19 D-rings and bungee cords, which you can find in the front and back. Thanks to them, we could lash down our fishing rod and backpack securely.

It’s amazing how an inflatable paddleboard for fishing this light can feel so strong. The double-layer PVC construction is built to last. Despite that, we were able to carry it easily without any help. This is an inflatable paddleboard. But unlike those cookie-cutter ones, it inflates quickly with the included hand pump, and it also comes complete with everything you need to hit the water right away.

We really appreciated that it’s compatible with a trolling motor, which gives it some serious micro skiff potential without breaking the bank.

What sets the Fish SUP apart are its thoughtful fishing-oriented features. With a built-in 36” fish ruler, 14 D-ring attachments, and a removable rear motor mount, it’s clear that Sea Eagle designed this with practicality in mind. The included multi-purpose storage box with two rod holders was a nice addition to our adventure, too.

With an extra-wide 34-inch platform, this paddleboard gave us rock-solid stability when we were out there. No matter what, we always felt confident and secure.
