Best Budget. The Courtyard Middlebury is a very unique property. Opened in 2003, it has been around for over 20 years now. From the moment we pulled up to the wraparound porch, it gave off cozy New England vibes, with just the right touch of rustic charm. It’s rare to find that kind of balance, and we genuinely appreciated how thoughtfully designed everything was.
Our mornings were made easy with the on-site Bistro, where we grabbed breakfast and some much-needed Starbucks to kick off our day. The fact that you can get coffee around the clock was a lifesaver for our late-night planning sessions. After a long day exploring Middlebury and the surrounding Vermont countryside, it was great to wind down with a workout in the gym. It’s not a huge space, but it had everything we needed to break a sweat.
Meanwhile, the Fireplace Suite we stayed in was like a historic inn, but with all the modern comforts. It was comfortable, and we loved the desk setup that was actually usable, as it isn’t always the case in many hotels. We also appreciated the in-room coffee and complimentary weekday newspaper.

This hotel is set just a quick 3-minute drive from Downtown Burlington, making it super easy to explore the area. During our stay, we made sure to wander through the nearby Taft Corners Shopping Center, which had a fun mix of boutiques and local eats.
Aside from the convenient location, the hotel also boasts plenty of amenities. Breakfast was free and hot every morning, which was always a win. There’s a 24-hour gym that we used a couple of times, a laundry room, and a cozy lobby where we’d sometimes just hang out with a coffee before heading out.
Our room, the Studio King Suite, reminded us of our apartment. It had everything we needed: a full kitchen, comfy bed, fast Wi-Fi, and even a pull-out sofa bed. Best Airport Hotel. The Delta Hotels by Marriott Burlington has a charm that makes it feel so special. One of its biggest charms is location. We were a mere short walk away from University Mall and a quick drive from quirky local landmarks like the World’s Tallest Filing Cabinet (yes, that’s a real thing). Plus, Burlington Airport was only minutes away, and the hotel’s free airport shuttle made our arrival and departure smooth and stress-free.
One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at Duke’s Public House, the hotel’s own restaurant and bar. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the food hit the spot. That said, we also loved how close we were to Burlington’s downtown scene. It was easy to venture out and sample some of the city’s top restaurants.
We were tempted to book one of the suites, but we thought the King Room would be more than enough. Indeed, it gave us the right amount of space to spread out and unwind. The bed was surprisingly plush, Wi-Fi was solid, and there was a desk setup that allowed us to work comfortably.

Tucked away in a peaceful, green neighborhood, Residence Inn Burlington Colchester gave us exactly what we were looking for: a laid-back, comfortable stay that kept us close to all the local highlights. We had our pick of fun things to do, which included Ben & Jerry’s, the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, and the Church Street Marketplace. They were all within easy reach!
This thoughtful hotel is big on freebies. Our morning started off strong with the free hot breakfast (waffles were a must), and the evening socials were such a nice touch. We had snacks, drinks, and a chance to unwind without even leaving the hotel. Additionally, we were also pampered by the indoor pool, fitness room, tennis court, and free parking. There are laundry facilities for long stays, too.
For our stay, we booked the King Studio, and it instantly felt like home. Perfect for long stays, all of the accommodations here come with a kitchen. Ours came in handy for quick breakfasts and lazy dinners, and the flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi made our downtime feel just right. The space was clean, bright, and thoughtfully laid out. Best for Outdoor Enthusiasts. We stayed at Fairfield by Marriott Waterbury Stowe for a quick getaway to Vermont, and it turned out to be the perfect base for all our outdoor adventures. Surrounded by the iconic Green Mountains, the hotel kept us close to the action. From skiing to hiking to spontaneous kayaking sessions, we never had to drive more than 30 minutes to get to anything on our list. Plus, being just steps away from the Ben & Jerry’s Factory? That was dangerously delicious.
We also have to mention the little perks that made our stay so smooth: free parking, a solid hot breakfast buffet every morning, and a well-kept indoor pool, as well as a hot tub that we used multiple times. After a day of biking and exploring local farm-to-table spots, soaking in the hot tub was the ultimate reset.

Best Views. We couldn’t have asked for a better location than Courtyard Burlington Harbor. The hotel is right by Lake Champlain, meaning it’s literally just a few steps from the water and walking distance to everything we wanted to see in downtown Burlington. Church Street Marketplace was just around the corner, and we loved being able to grab coffee, explore shops, or people-watch without needing to drive anywhere.

What stood out the most, though, was how easy everything felt. We squeezed in a quick swim at the indoor pool one morning, and even checked out the gym, which had more equipment than we expected. One night, we were too tired to go out, so we grabbed dinner at the seafood restaurant downstairs, and honestly, it ended up being one of our better meals in town.
We stayed in one of the King Rooms with lake views, and it made a huge difference. Watching the sunset over the water from our window felt like something out of a movie.
