Santorini conjures perfect, decadent images of blue and white in our minds. So, when we were headed to Santorini for a romantic getaway, all I could think of was luxury by the sea. And that’s exactly what we got at Amber Light Villa, Santorini. Tucked on the eastern end of the quaint village of Imerovigli, this indulgent villa hotel boasts mesmerizing views of the Aegean Sea. The highlight of this spanking new suites complex is that it lies curved into the mountains on the eastern side of the island. So, the colors of the sunrise views here made for memories of a lifetime.

Gorgeous sea-view digs
One of the best things we liked about the design of Amber Light Villa is that all of its digs have views of the Aegean. We went a step ahead and booked ourselves the suite with a sea view and a private pool, and it was one of the most luxurious living experiences of our lives.
We were impressed right off the bat. Since it was a romantic holiday, the hotel had even decorated our room with a trail of rose petals and balloons – we couldn’t have been more floored! The room itself boasted a spacious balcony with a lovely private plunge pool to the side and sun loungers for soaking in the Greek sun. There was even covered alfresco seating to the side, where we’d enjoy some much-needed quiet time after a soak. In fact, we even had a meal or two on our terrace, with wonderful sea views.
On the inside, the all-white bedroom made for an intimate living space. The bathroom was sensuous, to say the least, with a standing rainshower, scented candles, and bespoke bath products.

A dreamy setting for digging into delicious food
Imagine this – a pretty, pebbled garden with a berry tree in the middle, pristine white walls, and unobstructed sea views – that’s the dreamy Carpos Restaurant for you. Digging into delicious local food here was one of the highlights of our stay at Amber Light Villa, Santorini. The rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean were evident across every meal, whether it was the breakfast buffet or the gastronomic delights at lunch.
However, it was dinnertime here that took our breath away. The combination of the candlelight and the starry sky, and the dark ocean was something we’ll never forget. Oh, and one of the best things they did? They even delivered food to the comfort of our room!

A sublime swimming pool – the ultimate spot for unwinding
The sea-view swimming pool at Amber Light Villa, Santorini, is one of the best outdoor swimming pools we’ve ever seen. In fact, it’s one of Santorini’s largest and made for an unforgettable experience for relaxing. After a languorous breakfast, we retreated to the comfy loungers by the poolside. A luxurious swim and a lounge later, we were treated to amazing service from the restaurant. Imagine lounging on the plush sunbed and savoring coffee and snacks; that was unwinding at its best.

One of the best things we experienced while staying at this villa hotel is that the staff is so amazing and was able to steer us toward a variety of experiences. Besides the top things to do in Santorini and cultural visits, they even had great recommendations for hiking trails, cruises, and even wine tours. We especially loved their recommendation for this Santorini Highlights Tour with Wine Tasting and Sunset in Oia. On this tour, we discovered the island’s must-see spots, indulged in some amazing wine tasting, and ended the day watching a panoramic sunset. Bliss out at the spa and hammam
The villa is home to the oasis that is the Amber Light Spa, which includes not only treatment rooms for massages and body treatments but even a hammam (steam room). After a long day of exploring the village and the island, a visit to the spa rejuvenated our minds and body. We picked a beauty massage and a therapeutic body treatment for two from their special roster of honeymoon packages designed for two people. Later on, we enjoyed a luxuriating soak in the jacuzzi, with the bubbles soaking in every inch of our bodies. We were left feeling absolutely rejuvenated, and we cannot thank and recommend the professionals here enough.
