If you’re looking for a slice of Patagonian paradise, you’ll want to stay at Calfuco Wine Hotel & Spa. Right on the edge of Nahuel Huapi Lake, this boutique gem perfectly nails the “rustic luxury” vibe. Because it’s an adults-only spot, the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, mixing stone and warm wood with floor-to-ceiling windows that make the lake feel like it’s part of the room.
Our suite was amazing, and we honestly struggled to leave it. The views of the water were so stunning that we barely looked at the TV, and the attention to detail really blew us away. We highly appreciated the pillow menu and nightly turndown treats. After a good night’s sleep, we would either kick off our morning by sipping espresso from the in-room machine or enjoying the made-to-order eggs as breakfast.
When we weren’t out exploring the trails on the hotel’s mountain bikes or taking the kayaks for a spin, we were fully leaning into the “Wine & Spa” part of the name. The wine cellar is legendary, and pairing a local Malbec with a sunset view from the terrace is a must. Apart from that, the hotel also boasts a heated indoor pool and a cozy lobby fireplace.

If you want to have a front-row seat to Patagonia’s greatest shows, we highly recommend NH Bariloche Edelweiss. During our stay, we spent way too much time staring out our windows at the crystal-blue Nahuel Huapi Lake and those iconic snow-capped peaks. Since we were there for the slopes, the dedicated ski storage was highly appreciated, and getting to the Catedral Ski Center was a breeze, taking us just about 25 minutes by car.
The rooms themselves are super unique, with a boutique feel that made us feel right at home. They’re spacious, ranging from cozy nooks to larger suites, but every single one is high-end with super plush beds and flat-screen TVs. We stayed in one of the suites, and it had this massive, modern bathroom.
When we weren’t out exploring, we were definitely eating. The breakfast buffet had a bit of everything to fuel our mornings, and we capped off our nights at La Tavola, where we dove into some incredible Argentine steaks paired with local wines. We even managed to squeeze in a workout at the gym and a dip in the indoor pool.

Perched right at the start of the iconic Circuito Chico, Boutique Hotel & Spa Bosque del Nahuel was our own private Patagonian sanctuary. We fell in love with the Alpine-style cottages, which masterfully blend rustic stone accents with chic, light wood furnishings, and super-fast Wi-Fi. For the ultimate treat, we’d recommend the Deluxe Suite. Having a private balcony with lake views and our own hot tub made it nearly impossible to leave the room.
When we did manage to wander out, the spa became our favorite hangout. The heated indoor pool is a favorite of ours, featuring a waterfall and a hydromassage bench that melted away any hiking fatigue. And thanks to the sauna and the cozy on-site movie theater, we could relax whenever we wanted with ease.
The dining experience was the final hook for us, featuring elegant Patagonian dishes made from fresh, organic, local ingredients. Every meal was like a celebration of the region, especially when paired with their seriously impressive wine selection. All in all, it’s a gem!

Best Budget. We stayed two nights at Portales de la Patagonia Apartments, and for its price, we were amazed. It was peaceful, practical, and just close enough to everything. The walk into downtown took us about 10 minutes, and we could pop out for dinner or groceries without thinking twice. There’s even an excellent sushi spot nearby that we may or may not have visited more than once!
The apartments themselves are compact but beautifully laid out. We loved how bright the space felt, thanks to the big windows and our little private balcony that caught plenty of natural light. You can choose between a tidy studio setup or a larger unit that fits up to four people, which makes it a great option whether you’re traveling as a couple or with friends.
Inside, we had everything we needed to settle in comfortably, whether for a quick stay or something longer. The full kitchen and dining table also made it easy to cook a few meals ourselves, and the private bathroom was spotless. The décor is simple and modern, but that’s part of the charm.

Located right on the lake with water views from every room, we believe El Casco Art Hotel deserves more attention as one of the best hotels in Bariloche Argentina. It’s only about a 20-minute drive into downtown, so heading out for restaurants or shopping was easy whenever we felt like it. There’s on-site parking if you have a car, though we found taxis simple and convenient. With just 33 rooms, the hotel has an intimate, boutique feel, and true to its name, original artwork fills every space.
The art-forward atmosphere continues throughout the grounds, where sculptures and paintings are placed inside and out. Large windows in the lounge and dining room frame the lake so beautifully that it almost feels like part of the décor. The property itself is stunning. It features lush gardens, a solarium, and a heated indoor/outdoor pool. There’s also a steam room, sauna, and a highly rated spa if you’re in full relaxation mode. During the summer months, the lake becomes part of the experience too, with easy access to boating, swimming, and fishing.
That said, our room was just as impressive as the setting. It was spacious, with plenty of drawers and hanging space, so we could actually unpack and settle in. The bed was firm but still plush, so we slept incredibly well. We also had a private patio with lounge chairs and a small table.

Most Tranquil. We chose Aldebaran Hotel & Spa because we wanted somewhere quiet, and we made the right choice. With just 10 rooms, this is a small boutique hotel, which makes the whole experience even more personal and low-key. It feels intentionally removed from town, which we appreciated once we settled in.
The common areas were surprisingly comfortable. We spent time in the main lounge, which has cozy seating areas and large windows facing the lake. The spa is a highlight, too, especially the indoor-outdoor pool. We loved being able to swim outside without freezing. When we needed to warm ourselves, we would head back to our Standard Room. It was bright and simple, with neutral fabrics, colorful woven accents, and a small sitting area. We also had a private terrace overlooking the lake.
We ended up eating most of our meals at the hotel’s restaurant, Sirius, mainly because it was just easier. The menu focuses on organic regional dishes like fresh bread, quality beef, and solid Argentine wine. The location does mean you’re not within walking distance of Bariloche’s main attractions, but if you’re into the outdoors, it works in your favor. There’s easy access to hiking, kayaking, fishing, skiing in winter, and more, and the tour desk can arrange everything from mountain biking to scenic tours around Patagonia.

Design Suites Bariloche feels like one of the standout properties in the Design Suites collection. Located just outside Bariloche, it’s close enough to town for easy access but far enough to feel removed from the crowds. The hotel is spread across four modern, eco-inspired buildings and offers more than just rooms. During our stay, we were able to enjoy its restaurant, wine bar, contemporary art gallery, spa, and health center.
The design focus is obvious from the start. The main building has an angular, almost futuristic look, and the interiors are nothing short of modern. Instead of a traditional mountain lodge vibe, it boasts clean lines, natural materials like wood and leather, and contemporary furniture throughout the public spaces.
Rooms range from simple standards with light wood floors and nature-facing windows to more upscale suites with jacuzzis, balconies, and bolder color palettes. Based on our experience, we’d recommend the higher-category rooms, so you can make the most of the lake views, which are a big part of the appeal here.

The Charming Luxury Lodge & Private Spa is, indeed, charming. Let’s start by talking about our lovely Premium Suite. Not only did we have a private balcony for morning coffee and sunset unwinding, but we also had our own Finnish sauna, steam room, and a jacuzzi complete with aromatherapy oils and mood lighting.
The food experience was also just as amazing. Breakfast was indulgent in the best way. We enjoyed the fresh-squeezed orange juice, fluffy omelettes, and medialunas so soft they melted in our hands. The pastries? Dangerously delicious! On top of that, the restaurant views were breathtaking.
More than anything, though, what made our stay special was the warmth of the staff. From the first greeting, we were welcomed with first-class hospitality. One of the sweetest touches was that they placed a small flag from our home country outside our cottage.

We really couldn’t have asked for a better base in Bariloche than Cacique Inacayal Lake Hotel & Spa. Tucked right along the sparkling shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake, the setting had us swooning. Even better, we were just a short walk from the heart of Bariloche, so popping into town for a wander or a chocolate stop was effortless.
We booked the Grand Comfort Room, which lived up to its name. We had floor-to-ceiling views of the lake, and we also had a private spa bath in our bathroom. After long days exploring nearby trails and viewpoints, sinking into a warm soak while gazing was downright luxurious.
When we weren’t out adventuring, we happily made use of the hotel’s spa area. You can find a heated indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and invigorating Scottish showers. There’s even a small gym if you’re feeling virtuous. For dining, we always counted on the restaurant’s Patagonian dishes, which were hearty and flavorful. Sometimes, we ended the day at the cozy wine bar for a nightcap.

Most Intimate. Located inside Nahuel Huapi National Park, Lirolay Suites is truly one of the best hotels in Bariloche Argentina. When we first pulled up, we honestly had to double-check we were still in Patagonia. The chalet-style facade, with its timber beams and stone details, exuded Alpine vibes. It’s got that charming, Swiss-inspired look that made us want to curl up with a glass of wine and stare out at the lake.
One of our favorite parts? The outdoor pool overlooks the lake, and yes, there’s even direct access to a private beach if you’re feeling bold enough for a chilly swim. We opted to admire the view, at least at first. Meanwhile, every morning was a treat because breakfast was delivered straight to our room, and it wasn’t just a token croissant and coffee. We had a full, huge spread. We also highly recommend dining on the property. The menu was surprisingly affordable compared to similar spots nearby. Our favorites were the hearty lamb ragú, comforting lentil stew, and chocolate desserts.
If you’re in the mood to splurge a little, we can’t recommend the Superior Studio enough. Ours had a private balcony with sweeping lake views, a rustic stone fireplace, and a spa tub positioned perfectly for taking in the view of the lake. In fact, every single room on-site comes with a spa tub. With its rustic and intimate vibe, we think Lirolay Suites is ideal for couples looking to disconnect.

Best Luxury. Sandwiched by Lake Moreno and Lake Nahuel Huapi, Llao Llao Resort is a top choice for travelers prioritizing comfort and luxury. The building itself, dating back to 1940, reminded us of an old-world grand lodge. Think exposed cypress beams, enormous stone fireplaces, and charming tiled roofs. Whether blanketed in winter snow or glowing in summer sunshine, the setting is outrageously gorgeous and surprisingly versatile, with golf, lake adventures, and some of Argentina’s best skiing all within easy reach. We think this place is a great vacation idea in winter.
One of the biggest surprises for us was the value! Given the dramatic scenery and the hotel’s legendary status in South America, we expected eye-watering prices across the board. While the top-tier suites definitely lean luxe, the standard rooms are far more accessible than we imagined. Ours wasn’t a design showpiece, but it was cozy, well-equipped, and super comfortable. The real star, though, was the view, as every room faces either the mountains or the lakes.
Beyond the scenery, the resort delivers all the bells and whistles you’d hope for. We had long dinners at La Patagonia, the hotel’s international restaurant, and balanced indulgence with visits to the spa and health club. There’s even a golf course right on the grounds. But what we loved most was how easy it was to explore beyond the property. The kind staff helped us arrange ski rentals and shuttles in winter, rafting excursions, and even multi-day treks.
