Don’t worry, despite its name, there’s nothing weird about Bizarre Boutique Hotel. This hotel is perfectly placed near the train station, just steps from the old town, and an easy stroll to the beach. Talk about a stress-free vacation! One of our favorite little perks was a great breakfast spot right across the street.

This might not be a 5-star boutique hotel, but the accommodation still impressed us. Our room was sleek, modern, and immaculately clean, like it had just been finished. The bathroom was surprisingly roomy, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

What truly stood out, though, was the hospitality. Our travel plans went sideways, and we didn’t arrive until very late at night, but the staff went out of their way to make sure we could still check in without any issues. After a long, exhausting day, that kind of flexibility and kindness meant a lot to us.

Royal Hotel

Despite its name, the Royal Hotel is very wallet-friendly. It attracts travelers with its sophisticated decor and is still easy on the budget. The location alone sold us. It’s tucked into Varna’s Greek Quarter and just a short walk from the railway station, shopping streets, and a cluster of museums and galleries. We barely needed to open our map!

After long days out, coming back to a cool, air-conditioned room was all we needed. The free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which made planning our next day’s adventures (and uploading photos) super easy. Everything was simple and comfortable, without any unnecessary frills.

Another big plus for us was how convenient the extra services were. Having private parking and room service meant we could truly relax once we were done sightseeing. On sunnier days, we took easy walks to the Sea Garden and even all the way to Varna Beach.

Hotel Perfect

Best Budget. They say manifestation is everything, and we’re pretty sure this hotel practices it often! Our stay at Hotel Perfect was, literally, perfect. This is a great choice, especially if you’re kind of on a budget. It’s just a short walk from the busy pedestrian area that leads straight to the beach. There are lots of restaurants, cafés, and food spots right nearby, so we never had to go far for a meal.

The room was excellent, too. It was spacious, exceptionally clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the best parts was the ridiculously large balcony. It was like an extra living space and great for relaxing, especially in the morning.

The staff were incredibly generous and welcoming during our stay. They certainly made our stay even more enjoyable. All in all, Hotel Perfect is an easy, well-located base for a beachy, walk-everywhere kind of trip.

Plaza Hotel

Looking for a great value for money? Check out this amazing 3-star hotel: the Plaza Hotel. Its location really does a lot of the heavy lifting. Being close to shopping areas, restaurants, and cultural spots made it easy for us to explore on foot and keep our days flexible without worrying about transportation.

We spent two nights in the Standard Room, and it was spacious and clean. We particularly loved the simple, retro-chic style. Nothing over the top, but comfortable and practical, which is exactly what we wanted. The layout gave us enough room to relax, unpack, and wind down.

The hotel also offers a good mix of facilities that made our stay more convenient. There’s a fitness center, conference rooms, and an on-site restaurant with an all-inclusive option, which was nice to have when we didn’t feel like going out.

GRIFID Arabella Hotel

Best Ultra All-Inclusive. If you consider yourself a foodie, stay at GRIFID Arabella Hotel. The ultra all-inclusive deal meant we were never hungry, moving from massive breakfast buffets and late-morning snacks to four different specialty restaurants. We loved the live carving stations and the pizza and pasta bars, but the pastry spread was the real winner. We even caught a Gala dinner during our stay!

When we weren’t eating, we were usually at the bars enjoying everything from international cocktails to local wines. The lobby bar has a great view of the pool, and we hit the bar salon most nights for the disco. And whenever we needed a quick rest, we would just head back to our room. It was cozy and came with a pillow menu and a mini-bar that was restocked daily for free.

The hotel is also a win for families because the childcare team keeps everyone entertained with sports and mini-discos. This gave us plenty of time to hit the spa’s hammam and outdoor hot tub while the kids were busy. We also took the free shuttle to the nearby sister property’s aquapark, which was huge.

Panorama Hotel

Panorama Hotel is widely loved for its location. The hotel is right next to the beach on Primorski Boulevard, smack in the center of Varna. We could see the Marine Garden and the bay from the area around the hotel, and the beach clubs and Primorski pool complex were literally across the street. The convenience here is unreal, especially if your plan is to spend most of your time by the sea.

Our Double Room was comfortable and practical, not fancy but more than good enough for a short stay. We had a fridge, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and working air conditioning, which covered all the basics. There’s also a budget-friendly option in the form of the Economic Room, which still comes with a city view.

Breakfast was served every morning and made for an easy start to the day without having to think about where to eat. Aside from that, the lobby bar also offered drinks and snacks, and there were extras like a sauna, massages, and a small conference room if you needed them.

Poseidon Beach Resort

Best Luxury. Talk about perfect timing! We stayed at Poseidon Beach Resort during the off-season, so the hotel wasn’t crowded at all. Everything was quiet and easy. The hotel itself is brand new, opened in 2024 with a clean, modern design and plenty of space. This all-inclusive resort is about a 20-minute drive from Varna and around a 5-minute walk to Golden Sands beach. If you’re traveling with a baby, getting to the private beach is simple. There are smooth paths for a stroller or a mini train that runs guests down there. But if you don’t feel like going out, just take a dip in the outdoor pool.

We booked the Superior Room on the 6th floor, and it was very spacious and comfortable. We were spoiled with modern amenities, and we particularly loved the sea-view balcony. Service was also quick and efficient. When we asked for an ironing board, it arrived almost immediately. We also rented a car and had no issues parking since the hotel has a convenient underground garage.

The facilities were solid overall. The gym had everything we needed, and the spa was a blast. One of us had a massage, and it was excellent, plus we had access to the sauna and steam rooms. Breakfast and dinner were included, and the food quality was consistently very good. Chef Ferhat clearly takes pride in his work.

Reverence Boutique Hotel

Reverence Boutique Hotel is another great base for exploring the city. While it’s not right in the city center, that didn’t bother us at all. The Sea Garden was only about a 10-minute walk away, and public transport was easy to access, with bus and tram stops nearby. After all, traveling is also about exploring (and tons of walking)!

We stayed in the Maisonette, which is set up more like a small apartment with a mezzanine. The room was massive and felt very comfortable for a longer stay. Everything was clean and well laid out, and the bed was a standout. It was genuinely one of the best hotel beds we’ve slept in, and we slept incredibly well every night.

The staff were another highlight of our stay. The reception was friendly and helpful, offering practical advice and even helping us attempt to pronounce “blagodaria” correctly. Meanwhile, breakfast was served in a modern, bright space and offered a good range of options, all fresh and of good quality. The breakfast staff were attentive and patient as we tried out our very basic Bulgarian. One final bonus: the hotel has two free street parking spots nearby, which are great if you manage to get one.

Rosslyn Dimyat Hotel

What a stay! We really enjoyed our days at Rosslyn Dimyat Hotel from start to finish. This four-star hotel is very close to the center of Varna, and we could walk to the beach, restaurants, shops, and even the Dolphinarium. The tennis courts at the Black Sea club are just a few minutes away, which is great if that’s your thing.

We stayed in one of the Studios and were honestly surprised by how spacious it was. It was bigger than we expected, which we appreciated, especially since we spent a decent amount of time in the room. Housekeeping was consistent, as the room was cleaned daily, towels were changed regularly, and everything stayed clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. No complaints there!

The spa area was nice, too. We used the heated indoor pool a few times, and it was great to have access included in the stay. There’s also a gym and a thermal area with different saunas, a steam bath, and relaxation spaces, which were easy to use and not crowded at all. We also tried the Sea Garden Restaurant, which offers international dishes that change seasonally.

Graffit Gallery Design Hotel

Best for Relaxation. Many people are stunned by Graffit Gallery Design Hotel‘s contemporary architecture, but we’re here not to highlight that. This hotel offered us top-notch convenience and relaxation. Right in the middle of Varna, shopping areas and major landmarks were all close by, and we were able to walk to places like the Archaeological Museum, the Roman baths, and the Cathedral Dome without breaking a sweat.

The hotel also has some great facilities for downtime. We loved spending time in the relaxation zone, which includes an indoor pool with large windows looking out over the city. The gym is conveniently located next to the pool, so it was easy to balance workouts and relaxation. There’s also a sauna and massage room, which came in handy after hours of sightseeing and walking. One of our favorite spots was the rooftop bar, offering city views and a relaxed, social atmosphere.

Dining was another highlight. The on-site restaurant, Red Canape, serves a mix of Bulgaria‘s classic dishes and international options. No matter what your preference is, you’ll certainly find something you like here.

Best Central Location. When you know you’re “that” good, you don’t need to be flashy. This is exactly the kind of mentality that mOdus Hotel has as one of the best hotels in Varna. Despite its modest and clean look, it gave us one of our best experiences in Varna. One thing we really liked was the free bike rental, which allowed us to get around and ride along the Black Sea coast with ease.

Speaking of location, mOdus Hotel is hard to beat. The main pedestrian street is just steps away, so restaurants, bars, and shops are right there. We also liked the hotel bistro, which serves a mix of local dishes and familiar options, with a 10% discount for guests! There’s a gym and sauna if you want to unwind. With underground parking, a bus stop nearby, and major sights within walking distance, it worked really well for our stay.

We booked the Middle Suite, and it was fantastic. The mattress was superb, and we slept well every single night. The bathroom was squeaky clean, and we also had our own bathtub. Most rooms face the Sea Garden, so there’s a bit of greenery outside instead of city streets.
