Home Inn & Suites
11
Our first recommendation is the Home Inn & Suites. For an extra 25 USD per pet, per night, plus a 50 USD refundable deposit for the stay, we were able to bring our pup along without breaking the bank. We stayed in one of their designated Standard Double Queen rooms, which was clean, spacious, and conveniently located with side access for pet owners. That side entrance was super thoughtful, as it let us come and go without disturbing other guests, which made late-night potty breaks a breeze.
One of the highlights was the small but well-kept grassy area on the property for pet relief. It made our morning walks easy, especially since we didn’t have to leave the hotel grounds. The hotel welcomes both dogs and cats, though they do require pets to be crated if left unattended in the room.
By the way, did you know that Montgomery is one of the best places to visit in Alabama?

Motel 6-Montgomery AL – Airport

Best Budget. We stayed at Motel 6 Montgomery AL – Airport during a quick road trip, and it ended up being one of the most convenient and pet-friendly stops we’ve had. The best part? No extra fee for our two dogs, which is such a rare find these days. Both of our pups are under 50 lbs, so it was a perfect fit. The room itself was shockingly nice for the price, too.
There was a big grassy area right by the property, which made bathroom breaks easy and quick, especially after a long drive. We also loved that we didn’t feel like second-class guests just because we had pets with us. It was a true bargain stay, and to top it off, there’s a fantastic Mexican restaurant just down the road that we ended up going to for dinner. We highly recommend the tacos!

La Quinta by Wyndham Montgomery

You can’t talk about the best pet friendly hotels in Montgomery AL without mentioning this hotel. The La Quinta by Wyndham Montgomery truly blew our minds. When we arrived, the woman at the front desk immediately greeted us with a warm smile and even asked about our dog. Check-in was quick, and the 25 USD per pet, per night fee (capped at 75 USD per pet per stay) was clearly explained, along with the $50 refundable deposit.
Our room was on the fourth floor, but the elevator made that no problem at all, especially when lugging in our dog’s gear. The room itself was clean, well-maintained, and the bed was super comfortable after a long drive. What really made the stay great for us was the green space outside. There was plenty of room to let our pup sniff and stretch his legs, and they even had waste bags available.

Sleep Inn & Suites Montgomery East I-85

Our stay at the Sleep Inn & Suites Montgomery East I-85 with our dog was a smooth experience. The hotel staff was welcoming from the start and they were very friendly with our dog. At 20 USD per pet, per night (our pup weighs under 20 lbs), the fee felt pretty affordable, especially compared to some other places we’ve stayed. However, you should note that larger pets are allowed with prior approval and an added $10 per 10 lbs.
Furthermore, our room was clean and quiet. While it wasn’t overly spacious, it was comfortable enough for all three of us. One thing we especially appreciated was the small grassy area outside for pet relief. It was nothing fancy, but it got the job done. We made good use of it during morning and evening walks. While pets can’t be left alone in the room, we didn’t mind too much since there were plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating where our pup could tag along.

Sonesta ES Suites Montgomery

The Sonesta ES Suites Montgomery gave us a pleasant experience from the moment we arrived. This hotel is super pet-friendly, welcoming dogs of any size. This was a huge plus for us since our pup isn’t exactly tiny. We paid 75 USD for our three-day stay. If you stay for more than a week, the becomes 150 USD. There were several pet relief areas with waste stations scattered around, so it made walks convenient and stress-free. Better yet, the staff didn’t bat an eye at our furry companion, which instantly made us feel at ease.
Our suite was surprisingly spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed that gave us the best sleep we’d had in weeks. Even though we didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor amenities, we appreciated that there was a pool, a basketball court, and a patio with a grill. Just a heads-up for cat owners though, as the hotel only allows dogs.

The hotel is just a short walk from the historic downtown area, which made exploring the local restaurants and sights super convenient. Our suite was spacious and clean, with a full kitchen that came in handy for prepping meals. Check-in was also smooth, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, especially when it came to our pet. There is a pet fee of 75 USD per pet for stays up to 6 nights, which we found okay for a pet-friendly hotel with this level of comfort.
While there isn’t a grassy spot right on the property for quick potty breaks, we didn’t mind walking 2-3 blocks to a nearby dog park. It had dedicated play areas for dogs and plenty of space for them to run around and burn off energy. It felt like a mini adventure every day, and our pup loved it.

Best for Short Stays. The Microtel Inn and Suites Montgomery was better than what we expected. As pet parents, we always appreciate when a hotel not only accepts pets but makes them feel welcome. We only had to pay 15 USD per pet, per night. Apart from that, we were assigned a ground-floor room, which made bathroom breaks easy, and the grassy area on the property was perfect for quick walks. On top of that, everyone we met was polite, helpful, and seemed genuinely informed about the hotel’s pet policy and amenities.
The room itself was spotless and felt very cozy, which gave us peace of mind knowing our dog had a clean space to relax in. While we made sure to crate our dog anytime we stepped out, it was reassuring knowing he was comfortable in a secure environment. In the morning, we were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. The Candlewood Suites Eastchase Park by IHG is another awesome choice for travelers with a furry companion. As pet owners, finding a hotel that’s truly pet-friendly, rather than just “pet-tolerant”, can be a challenge, but this place was fantastic. The 75 USD pet fee for our 4-night stay felt reasonable considering how comfortable they made us feel. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see our dog, even offering a few treats and asking about her name.
One of our favorite parts was the large dog run on the property. Our pup had plenty of space to stretch her legs and get some energy out, and the waste stations made cleanup super convenient. We also appreciated that both dogs and cats are allowed. It’s something to keep in mind for your trips if you’re a cat owner. The only rule was that pets can’t be left unattended in the room, which we totally understand.

Best for Long Stays. The Hilton Garden Inn Montgomery East is one of the best-rated pet friendly hotels in Montgomery Alabama. The hotel allows both dogs and cats and since our stay was under four nights, we paid a 75 USD pet fee. Honestly, it felt reasonable given the convenience and accommodations. Our pup loved the grassy dog yard on the property, which made potty breaks easy and stress-free. It’s always a relief when we don’t have to wander far for a proper pet area. The hotel itself was clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the staff were to us and our dog.
Aside from the pet perks, we genuinely enjoyed the amenities for ourselves, too. The outdoor lounge area was a nice place to unwind in the evenings, and the pool was our go-to for a quick dip on a warm day. Everything felt well-maintained, and it struck a good balance between comfort and functionality. It’s not always easy to find a place that treats both humans and pets with equal care, but this one nailed it.

Our experience at the Drury Inn & Suites Montgomery was one we will always remember. The hotel was welcoming from the start. Checking in with our dog was super easy, and the staff was friendly and understanding. We paid 50 USD per night for our pup, but with the perks included, it balanced out. They placed us on the second floor (pet guests are usually on the second or third), which made it easy to take the stairs. There were a few clean grassy spots outside with pet stations, which made late-night potty breaks way more convenient.
While pets aren’t allowed in the common areas like the lobby, pool, or fitness center, we didn’t feel restricted. The real standout was the free food! Hot breakfast in the morning, a nice dinner spread in the evening, and even a cocktail hour and dessert flight, all included. We took turns heading down to grab food while one of us stayed with our dog since pets can’t be left alone in the room.
