Morning coffee drinkers, afternoon shoppers, and late-night strollers were all happening right there, and we had a front-row seat from our terrace.

This hotel is small and warm, the kind of place that reminds you of home. Our breakfast was served in a sunny room, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. They arranged a day trip to Capri and a fishing outing with a local pescatore. We even tried the owner’s cooking class and ended up kneading gnocchi dough like pros.

We booked one of the suites, and we loved the design. With pops of sunflower yellow and patterned tiles, it’s nothing short of bright and quirky. The bathroom was spotless, stocked with fancy lotions, and the fluffy robes made everything even better.

We could easily wander down to Piazza Tasso for people-watching, then stroll back up under the warm Sorrento lights with ease.

Our room was bright, calm, and quietly luxurious, with crisp linens and a balcony. If you want to go all out, book a room that gets you access to the Executive Lounge, where endless snacks and sparkling wine await. Though cozy, we made sure not to spend too much time in our room. We also checked out the indoor and outdoor pools, and we even tried a quick tennis match.

Breakfast at Hotel Sorrento Hilton Palace Italy was amazing: flaky pastries, fresh fruit, and strong Italian coffee. We stayed at the hotel for two nights, and we made sure to dine at the hotel’s panoramic restaurant once. It surprised us in the best way possible! The palazzo sits right across from the beautiful cloister of San Francesco and the entrance to the Villa Comunale gardens, where we started every morning with a quiet stroll. A quick lift ride took us down to the beaches, and within minutes we were already exploring the busy medieval lanes near Piazza Tasso with gelato in hand.

What surprised us most was how much charm and character the place had for a “luxury B&B.” The grand salon looked straight out of an Italian period film, and the staff were genuinely wonderful. They helped us plan a day on Capri, a scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast, and even a smooth airport transfer. It’s easy to see why so many couples choose it for weddings.

Most Stylish. We’re not exaggerating! Maison La Minervetta is probably one of the most stylish hotels in the city. This boutique hotel boasts a modern and refreshing Mediterranean aesthetic, with sea views that are equally captivating. It’s not just eye candy, though. Though we were able to explore Sorrento easily, we preferred to just head down to the marina for some seafood and local wine.

Not only that, we were able to relax easily thanks to the little whirlpool terrace. It was our go-to spot whenever we wanted to chill and take a break. We also appreciated the staff, who were always so kind. They were always around when we needed something and always smiling.

What about our room? It was like a love letter to the sea, with bold stripes, model boats, and marine paintings. Every night, we would sink into fine linen sheets and wake up the next morning to sunlight pouring through floor-to-ceiling windows. We were also spoiled with premium in-room amenities, like the Bang & Olufsen speaker, Dyson dryer, and Ortigia bath products.

Grand Hotel La Favorita

Our stay at the Grand Hotel La Favorita was a blast. We loved how everything was just a short stroll away, from the main piazza to little boutiques and the Villa Comunale garden with its sweeping view over the Bay of Naples. And when we wanted the beach, the lift down to the port made it all so easy, no steep climbs or winding paths.

But the real showstopper, though, was the rooftop terrace. We spent an entire afternoon up there, taking a dip in the pool and drinking at the bar. The view was like something out of a movie. Speaking of rooftop things, there’s also a rooftop restaurant. We loved the grilled seafood! Down below, the garden was just as dreamy, full of lemon trees and exotic flowers.

Though small, you shouldn’t underestimate Marina Piccola 73. This humble B&B has that cozy, quietly glamorous feel. From the terrace, we could watch boats drift across the Gulf of Naples while sipping an Aperol. And when we were ready to put our adventure heads on, all we needed to do was walk to the nearby train station.

We stayed in the Tower Room, and we were grinning every time we climbed the little spiral staircase to the bathroom. The space was whimsical and full of character, dotted with vintage finds and thoughtful touches. Another room that we highly recommend is the Deluxe Room, which comes with a terrace. And the fact that all the rooms welcome small pets, no charge, just adds to the homey charm.

Breakfast here deserves its own award. Roberta and Alice brought out these tiered trays piled high with croissants, fresh fruit, and little slices of homemade pie. We sat on the sunny terrace, and it was hard to imagine a better way to start the day.

Best Value for Money. Laqua Countryside sits quietly in the hills above Vico Equense, just before the Amalfi Coast begins. When we first arrived, we could immediately tell we’d enjoy this place. The air was still, the valley below impossibly green, and the whole place seemed to hum with calm. It’s not flashy or overdone. Instead, it’s just beautifully peaceful.

Our room is exceptionally cozy. We stayed in the Marina on the top floor, and it was spacious, sunlit, and the only one with a teasing glimpse of the sea. Every morning, we would open the doors and breathe in that salty air. But you can also consider La Stanza del Curato with its character: bold red accents, dramatic touches, and a cozy, lived-in charm.

During our stay, if we weren’t swimming in the heated pool, we were probably in the kitchen garden, sunhat on, espresso in hand, surrounded by olive trees and mountain views. Speaking of which, one of the highlights of our stay was joining chef Nicola’s team for a garden-to-table session.

The Grand Hotel Aminta is easily one of the best hotels in Sorrento Italy. High on a hillside above the town, the hotel offers jaw-dropping views of both the Bay of Naples and the dramatic coastline that hugs the Amalfi region. Not only that, getting around was also easy for us thanks to the hotel’s free shuttle service. We could get into town without breaking a sweat.

Most of our afternoons were spent outdoors by the heated pool and adults-only hot tub. There aren’t tons of loungers, but for a few euros, we reserved our spot all day and had zero regrets. Between dips, we’d settle into one of the comfy sofas and just soak up the sunshine. When the night comes, you should head to the outdoor bar and not only enjoy a few drinks but also live music.

Finally, let’s talk about our Double Room, which was spotless and comfortable. It had all the essentials we needed. However, if you’re here for the views, don’t hesitate to splurge on the sea-facing room. Some of the smaller attic or annex rooms don’t have that jaw-dropping panorama, but they’re great value if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring anyway.

Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is a conveniently located hotel. One second, we were in the heart of Sorrento’s bustle, and the next, we were surrounded by gardens thick with the scent of lemon blossoms and birdsong. The chaos of the crowds faded instantly. And that private lift down the cliff to the harbor? Catching the ferry to Capri was so effortless.

Even though the location is a 10/10, we didn’t mind just staying in the hotel. We loved chilling by the pool or sneaking off to the little Serra spa tucked into the garden. It was impossible not to relax and just be. Moreover, the staff seemed to always sense what we needed before we did, making every moment feel easy and unhurried.

On top of that, we also adored our suite, which had that classic Italian charm with a touch of old-world romance. Think honey-toned parquet floors, crisp linen sheets, and a lovely terrace. On our last night, we poured a glass of wine and just sat outside, soaking everything in. It was a magical experience.

Best Luxury. Bellevue Syrene is a beautiful luxury hotel, but it’s not just another on the list. Built on the ruins of a Roman villa, this place is special. The location? Perfect. We could reach Sorrento’s buzzing center in just 5 minutes, or stroll 10 to the Circumvesuviana Station to hop a train to Pompeii or Naples.

We wanted the ultimate experience, hence we booked the suite that came with a private pool. Imagine taking a dip anytime you want without strangers! The room itself was airy and romantic, with a terrace that opened straight to that perfect sea view. Better yet, a chilled bottle of wine waited for us when we arrived, and that small gesture set the tone for the rest of our stay.

The rest of the hotel’s amenities also pulled us in. If you don’t want to book our suite, you can still have a swim in the outdoor pool, then sink into a lounger as waiters magically appear with mimosas. Personally, we loved enjoying a drink or two on the terrace or in the Winter Garden room.

Best View. Hunting for a quiet escape on the Sorrentine Peninsula? There’s arguably no better choice than Relais Blu. Perched high above the sea, this hotel feels like it’s floating between sky and water. The view from up there was truly hard to beat. Not to mention, it’s only a short drive from Massa Lubrense and Sorrento, but it feels worlds away.

We got the Deluxe King Room, one of the 11 rooms on the property. Everything was crisp white with touches of blue that reminded us of the sea just outside the window. We had our own terrace, and the bathroom was a mini spa in itself. And to be brutally honest, we even wanted to take home some of the premium bath products. It all felt effortlessly luxurious.

The real deal, though, was how peaceful everything felt. There were always quiet corners for us to hide away with a spritz. The infinity pool at the top had us floating with Capri in full view, and the little spa was perfect after a day of exploration. The staff even arranged for us to be whisked down a cliff in a tiny Piaggio van to a beach club.
