Sunset Marmaris Boutique Hotel & Spa
11
We begin with a fantastic hotel in the Old Town, the Sunset Marmaris Boutique Hotel & Spa. It sits facing the Marmaris Yacht Marina, along the Mediterranean Sea, and is within a stone’s throw of most of the landmarks and sights in the town. We loved the enchanting design of this lovely boutique stay, which featured a narrow entrance and whitewashed walls, typically seen in Marmaris Old Town. However, the stunning views are the main draw here, whether it’s from the rooms or the rooftop bar.
We had the choice of warm and relaxed rooms and suites, which featured views of either the Mediterranean Sea or Marmaris Castle. What’s more, they came with a bevy of mod-cons, including wood-coffered ceilings, minifridges, kettles, plush beds, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs, among others. Did we mention that room service was available notwithstanding the room choice? Yes!
Our days began with breakfasts with million-dollar sea views at the restaurant. The day’s end was pretty much the same, but with even better views and drinks at the rooftop bar overlooking the sea.

BonoHotel

There are few stays in Marmaris Old Town as charming as the BonoHotel. We loved the location in particular, as the marina was a less than five-minute walk. Moreover, all landmarks and sights were right around and very walkable.
We had the choice of 18 rooms and suites, which were all located in different structures, but all were close by. Ours was room no. 2, which was a lovely little stone house with a garden and terrace views. Nevertheless, all rooms and suites were air-conditioned and had mod-cons, private, modern bathrooms.
The room prices included a hearty breakfast, which we’d enjoy in the main structure every day. What’s more, this aparthotel-guesthouse even had a lush garden and terrace where we’d unwind with a glass of wine every evening. Did we mention the spa facilities, free Wi-Fi, and the restaurant that served Turkish, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines? Yes!

Grand Yazıcı Club Turban
9
The Grand Yazici Club Turban sits on the southern fringes of the city of Marmaris, right on the seafront overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. In fact, the beach was a short jaunt across the lush lawns and the Barbaros Cadessi, the street separating the beach from the resort.
We loved everything about this relaxed all-inclusive beachfront resort, especially the digs. The rooms and suites were casual and featured balconies with amazing views of either the sprawling gardens or the sea and the beach. What’s more, they all came equipped with flat-screen TVs and modern bathrooms, with the suites adding separate lounges with sofabeds. If you really want to go all out, the upgraded two/three-bedroom villas and suites even have whirlpool tubs and private pools with sea views.
Since this is an all-inclusive resort, all meals are included. Not only was there a Turkish restaurant, but there were also Italian and Chinese ones, as well as the pool and beach bars. Other amenities included boat rentals, live music and entertainment, kids’ clubs, sports facilities, a spa, and a bunch of amazing outdoor pools.

Marmaris Bay Resort

Sitting in the charming town of Adakoy, a 20-minute drive from Marmaris along the Mediterranean Coast, is the Marmaris Bay Resort. This luxurious and upscale five-star outpost sits on wooded grounds, right on the Mediterranean Sea shoreline, and is the perfect destination to get away from all the bustle. Did we mention that this resort is adults-only? Yes!
Choose from a host of polished and chic rooms and suites, the best of which came with sea views, obviously. However, they all featured a slew of mod-cons for comfy, luxury living: think flat-screen TVs, kettles and minibars, and even balconies and terraces. If you want to splurge even more or want more space, the one/two-bedroom suites even have separate living rooms.
Thanks to the multiple restaurants and bars, we didn’t have to worry about venturing out of the grounds for drinking or dining. The private beach was definitely the standout, and when we weren’t at the beach, we’d be at the outdoor pool or the spa, enjoying massages and lounging around. Other amenities included an archery range, a fitness center, tennis courts, regular live entertainment, and yoga classes, with free parking and Wi-Fi also available on the property.

Labranda Mares Marmaris

Most family-friendly. If you’re looking for a kid-friendly stay in Marmaris, look no further than the amazing Labranda Mares Marmaris Hotel. Sitting right on the seafront just south of the city of Marmaris, this luxurious five-star accommodation has its own private beach! With pine-forested hills in the background and the shores of the Mediterranean Sea out front, this relaxed hotel is perfect for spending time with the family.
As a family, we loved the choices of air-conditioned rooms we had, especially since all rooms came with balconies and views of either the gardens or the sea. What’s more, they all boasted satellite TVs, cozy seating areas, sofa beds, and luxe, modern bathrooms, along with terraces/balconies, minibars, and flat-screen TVs. We chose a suite, which even had a sitting area and a whirlpool tub. If you’re a group of adults, we’d highly recommend the cottages, which even have living areas and two bedrooms. Nevertheless, room service was available in all rooms and suites.
The rest of the resort is equally impressive. Five restaurants, six bars, and a wine cellar meant that we were truly spoilt for choice when it came to drinking and dining. Not only did they serve every cuisine imaginable, but the views were amazing. We loved the swimming pools for swims, dips, and lazy lounging, as well as the massages, sauna, and Turkish bath at the spa. Moreover, the free Wi-Fi was a godsend to stay connected and plan our itineraries for the coming days. Besides a playground for kids, there are even games such as billiards, darts, and table tennis. Did we mention the seafront sunloungers? Yes!

TUI Blue Grand Azur

The opulent beachfront resort of TUI Blue Grand Azur, which is just five minutes from the city center of Marmaris, has the perfect tropical setting. Sitting just a minute’s walk from the beach and the Mediterranean Sea, staying in abject luxury right in the middle of Marmaris doesn’t get any better than this.
We had the choice of airy, refined rooms and suites, the best of which have sea views. Nevertheless, they all were decorated in soft, neutral hues and came with a bevy of mod-cons. These included flat-screen TVs, minifridges, tea and coffee makers, free Wi-Fi, and even balconies, with the suites even adding separate living rooms and whirlpool tubs. Nevertheless, all rooms and suites enjoy room service 24/7. We loved the coziness of our room, which had huge windows and stunning views.
Our days began with free breakfasts, which included everything from hot coffee and fresh fruit to local Turkish delicacies. The days were spent lazing at the many indoor and outdoor pools as well as the private beach, where the hotel provided parasols, daybeds, and beach towels. Aside from the many restaurants and bars, the hotel also had a fitness center, an upscale spa, tennis courts, and even a massive activity roster that included a ton of water sports. Did we mention the sun-soaked terrace that faced the sea? Yep?

Cook’s Club Adakoy

Most romantic. We were looking for a romantic hideaway close to Marmaris, and the adults-only Cook’s Club Adakoy was perfect. Tucked on a secluded peninsula on the Turkish coast, this adults-only, stylish hideaway was a 25-minute drive from Marmaris along the coast, or an even shorter boat ride away. Are you in need of a little R&R and some quality time with your beloved? You should think of this place.
“Staying at Cook’s Club Adakoy was the best way to explore Marmaris and the Dalaman Coast in a laidback way!”
WOW Travel
We loved everything about this chic beachfront hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Aged kilims, tons of natural materials, and washed concrete give it an authentically Turkish and romantic appearance. The prime focus here is the gorgeous swimming pool, where we’d be frolicking and lazing around. What’s more, the beach was rocky but beautiful, with the water warm and perfect for summer swimming. Afternoons were reserved for the spa and hammam, where we’d unwind in each other’s company. Wrapping things up was the only restaurant that served all meals, including drinks.
The rooms and suites were large and decked out in a minimalistic manner. Even standard rooms had small ground-floor patios with cushy throws and pillows, but all rooms rock a beige and rust color palette that upholds its beach aesthetic.

Elite World Marmaris

Best adults-only all-inclusive stay. Sitting right on the stunning İçmeler Beach is Elite World Marmaris, a polished, adults-only, all-inclusive resort sitting half a street down from the golden sands. It was all about the beach life at this hotel, as they gave us towels, sun loungers, and free parasols at the beach. Now that’s beachside service that we like! Back at the hotel, the large outdoor pool appealed to us immensely, especially since it was surrounded by daybeds, umbrellas, and lush vegetation. Thanks to the all-inclusive service here, we enjoyed everything from breakfasts, lunches, and dinners to even teatime cakes and snacks.
Relaxation wasn’t just in the form of the beach and the pool, but also the Fit Life, where we could enjoy massages, as well as relax and unwind in the steam room, hammam, and sauna. After all, nothing beats a mud bath along the Dalaman Coast, does it? A salon, a fitness center, a 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, and free parking complete the facilities here.
Choose from a host of super-stylish rooms and suites, which have views of either the gardens or the sea. What’s more, they came with flat-screen TVs, kettles, minibars, and even balconies. Moreover, they even had luxe bathrooms, which came with rain showers and even bathtubs in some of them.

Green Nature Resort & Spa Hotel

Best kid-friendly. When it comes to all-inclusive staying in Marmaris, the Green Nature Resort and Spa on the southern fringes of the town is perfect. The huge hotel complex is sprawled out in a lush pine forest less than a five-minute drive from the Mediterranean Sea’s Turquoise Coast.
The all-inclusive package here included not only all meals (buffet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners) but also cookies, ice cream, and snacks across eight bars and restaurants. What’s more, the package also included selective alcoholic (local brands only) and non-alcoholic drinks for a minimum of 12 hours per day. Going further, the amenities here included as many as five pools, including kids’ pools, and all had daybeds, palm trees, and parasols. Additionally, there were also entertainment programs, games, pool lounges, and a kids’ club.
We loved the choice of comfy and modern rooms and suites at the fun-packed resort. Featuring balconies with pool or forest views, the relaxed rooms had a slew of mod-cons, including minibars and flat-screen TVs. Finally, family rooms even added pull-out sofas and living areas.

Dionysos Village Hotel

40 minutes south of the city, along the Mediterranean Coast, the Dionysos Village Hotel overlooks the Bay of Kumlubük. Sitting in a verdant Bozburun Peninsula canyon, this stay made for a very unique escape to the countryside, while being right on the Turquoise Coast and close to Marmaris.

As a couple, we loved the relaxed atmosphere of this chic, adults-only resort and spa. Amenities were aplenty: there was a stunning outdoor pool overlooking the sea as well as a fantastic spa. What’s more, there was also a fitness center, a wine cellar for romantic evenings, a putting green, a tennis court, a market, a game room, and even two restaurants and bars each. We’d begin our days with delicious breakfast spreads and enjoy wine tastings, yoga, and biking around the neighborhood. If that wasn’t enough, the restaurant even helps book special dining experiences.
Choose from a host of laidback but modern rooms and suites, which come with plush beds, minibars, satellite flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, kettles, sitting areas, terraces, and even living rooms and kitchenettes in the suites. If you’re looking for something special, book the private villas that have terraces and pools.

D-Maris Bay

Best overall. There’s more than one reason why the serene and isolated D-Maris Bay sits at the top of this list. Tucked in a stunning bay and surrounded by the Datça Peninsula’s lush vegetation, this resort is as exclusive as staying on the Turquoise Coast gets. That’s because we could access it only via a 3-mile-long, densely wooded lane! So, as you can see, the fantastic setting, along with the extensive amenities, the delicious food, and the elevated accommodations, make it a cinch to stay at.
Aside from the already fabulous staff, the amenities here were extensive: think an open-air yoga studio, a huge spa, a water ski school, indoor/outdoor pools, and five white-sand beaches, including one that didn’t allow phones, music, or kids under 12 years of age. Now that’s what we call serenity! What’s more, there’s also a km-long running track around the grounds, a helipad, an Alpine-style wooden funicular from the building to the beach, shuttle boats ferrying us between beaches, and gulets and luxury yachts for hire. Sigh. Even sunsets were spectacular, with champagne and classical music in full swing on the sloping lawn called Green Hill, which was sprinkled with deckchairs overlooking the bay. Did we mention five restaurants, four of which were open-air and sat by a beach? Yes! If that wasn’t enough, they served every cuisine from oriental to local Turkish delicacies.
We had the choice of nearly 200 rooms and suites, most of which had sea views. Modern and smart interiors with Turkish artwork, quality fabrics, and a barrel of mod-cons are what make this luxury resort so popular.
