Hotel Villa Taormina, dating back to the early 1900s, has such an effortless charm. It’s surrounded by lush gardens and perched with views of the Mediterranean. What we loved most was how central it was. In just over 10 minutes, we could walk to the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, yet the villa itself felt so tranquil.
One of the best parts of our trip was the breakfast. Some mornings we sat in the elegant dining room, while other days we lingered on the rooftop terrace, sipping coffee with views so pretty we lost track of time. There’s also a bar when you’re in the mood for a drink, as well as a small outdoor pool with sunloungers for some relaxation. Want to feel the sand? The hotel also offers a beach shuttle!
We went with the Superior Room, and it was the cherry on top of our stay. Spacious and beautifully done, it had this perfect mix of modern design with Sicilian touches. We loved how the decor didn’t feel overdone.

Every morning, we would kick off our day with a cup of coffee on the terrace. Additionally, the pool was our lazy afternoon hangout, and when we were feeling adventurous, we would walk up to Castelmola, a tiny hilltop village famous for its almond wine.

Most Eco-Friendly. Hotel Villa Schuler has that rare charm that makes you instantly feel part of Taormina’s magic. We had so much fun at this hotel. From early morning walks through the gardens to simply gazing at Mount Etna in the distance, every moment here had a touch of Sicilian wonder. And for those craving adventure, the legendary volcano is close enough for a day hike.
When you don’t feel like going out, head to the rooftop lounge. We loved taking in the Mediterranean views with a glass of wine in hand. It was one of our favorite spots on the property. But we’d say the gardens are just as captivating. It’s home to more than 350 plant varieties, making it a little botanical world of its own.
Best of all, the hotel balanced luxury with heart. Every interaction with the staff carried a sense of warmth that felt genuine. This list won’t be the same without Splendid Hotel Taormina. As the name suggests, this place is simply splendid. Staying here, we were only a short stroll from Corso Umberto, Taormina’s buzzing shopping street. It made exploring the Greek Theater and the 13th-century Duomo so effortless, as both were just a walk away.
The hotel’s third floor turned out to be our favorite spot. The pool had that relaxed holiday vibe, but it was the rooftop terrace that really stole our hearts. Standing up there, we managed to witness two regions meet and the Mediterranean stretch endlessly. We also enjoyed evenings at the property. We would order drinks at the piano bar, let the soft music fill the room, and just let the day wind down.
Our Double Room wasn’t flashy, but it didn’t need to be. What made it special were the little things: waking up to sea views, checking out the pool from the window, and knowing all the essentials. It wasn’t about luxury, but about feeling at ease, and by the end of our stay, we realized that’s exactly why Splendid lived up to its name.

If you love staying at boutique hotels, we’re sure you’ll have a good time at Villa Fiorita. It’s housed in an old building right in the heart of Taormina, and we loved being so close to everything. We were just steps from the cable car to Mazzarò and Isola Bella, and only a few minutes’ walk to Corso Umberto where the shops and cafes kept us busy.
For our stay, we stayed in the Depandance Room, which was cozy and private. The space was simple but thoughtful. Right in the center of Taormina, it gave us the best of both worlds: views of Mount Etna and the Bay of Naxos as well as the town’s lively streets. We were glad we chose the Junior Suite. It had all the comforts we needed, but the highlight was soaking in the bathtub while watching the sea in the distance. The veranda was also amazing! Just a few steps from Isola Bella Bay, we could go down to the beach whenever we felt like it, or hop on the cable car to be in town within minutes. It was for four of us, so we decided to book the Family Room. It had this great mix of modern style and hand-crafted details that made it feel personal.
