Wahoo Bay Beach Club & Resort

Best for Families. We’ve heard a lot of good things about Wahoo Bay Beach Club & Resort, and after spending a few nights there, we can confidently say the hype is real. Location-wise, it’s right near the Ogier-Fombrun Museum, but once we got there, leaving was the last thing we wanted to do. Started things off right with a beach massage, which was easily one of the best perks ever.
When we weren’t on the sand, the room was the vibe. It felt so cozy, and the sea-view patio was the key selling point. Yes, we had all the expected necessities: free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a minifridge. If you plan to travel with your family, grab one of the larger suites or apartments, as they come with extra bathrooms and kitchenettes. Oh, and kids six and under stay free!
This resort has a colorful seafood spot, a bar, and a must-use outdoor pool. If you need a break from the water, they have games and sports courts, too. Best of all for parents, the dedicated kids’ play area kept the little ones busy for hours while we actually relaxed.

Cormier Plage Resort

Best for Beachgoers. Everything about Cormier Plage Resort is sweet! First of all, we have to talk about the pre-arranged transport. Once we landed, their driver was already waiting for us. No more airport hassle! Then, after checking in, we were impressed by the Classic Room. It was clean, spacious, simple, and vintage. The balcony was a great bonus, too.
We were so lucky, as a beach concert was happening right when we arrived. Bags down, straight to the beach! The staff were awesome, and the beers were cold. We ditched our plans to go into town and just spent the whole day chilling on the sand, chatting with everyone. If you love beach parties, you’ll want to stay here. No wonder it’s listed as one of the best beach resorts in Haiti!
On top of that, we also slept like a rock that night. Once we woke up, we were spoiled with a delicious breakfast. Moreover, they have an outdoor tennis court, which is a perfect way to squeeze in a quick workout if you’re feeling active.

Best Service. What do you expect when you’re talking about 5-star hotels in Haiti? Luxurious rooms and world-class food? Or impeccable service? If it’s the latter you’re focusing on, you won’t regret staying at El Rancho Haiti. The service here is awesome. From the second we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff were stunning. They anticipated our needs with an elegance and courtesy that made us feel instantly spoiled.
The attention to detail is what sets this place apart. We loved the personalized welcome and those delicate little touches in our room. Requests were handled with exemplary responsiveness and sincere kindness. Whether we were chatting with reception or dining, every interaction had this amazing, refined touch.
Location-wise, it’s also perfect, as it’s right in the heart of Pétion-Ville, a central and vibrant suburb of Port-au-Prince. The property has also been completely renovated with super modern decor. We loved spending our mornings by the outdoor pool and afternoons on the tennis courts.

Gala Tower Condo & Hotel

Best Suite. Congrats! You may have just found your new favorite spot in Petionville, the Gala Tower Condo & Hotel. As one of the top luxury hotels in Haiti, we were impressed with the rooms. Our Junior Suite had a queen-sized bed, and we also got all the amenities we needed. However, for the grandest experience, book the Grand Suite. It’s the biggest and most lavish accommodation on the property.
One of our favorite things to do there was taking a dip in the outdoor pool. It was so relaxing, and having the poolside bar and that beautiful garden area made it even better. We barely had to leave the property for food because the on-site restaurant served up great meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
What about the service? Seamless! The 24-hour front desk and concierge team made everything easy, from arranging trips with tour/ticket assistance to simply helping us with luggage storage. Plus, the free self-parking was a huge bonus.

Kinam Hotel

Best Food. Our friend insisted we stay at Kinam Hotel, and we get why. Run by the same exact family for almost 100 years, this is no regular hotel in Haiti. Set in Port-au-Prince, the premises are gorgeous, clean, and safe. We never worried once! Plus, that constant, subtle flow of Haitian music always put us in a good mood.
The service here is mind-blowing. The staff is genuinely helpful, friendly, and quick to fix things. For instance, our room was spotless, but missing a mini-fridge. A quick call, and boom, it was there! All of the staff members also never hesitated to give us insider tips.
While the free breakfast is amazing, dinner is where the magic is. Prepare yourself for a culinary journey. We went all in on the authentic Haitian flavors and have zero regrets. The lambi gratiné, grilled goat, and crispy griot were all spectacular. And you must finish with the pain patate. 10/10 recommend!
“Just when we thought Kinam couldn’t impress us more, their food arrived. It was a lip-smacking experience that stole the show.”

Hotel Royal Oasis

Best Location. If you’re looking for a spot that’s central and modern, you have to check out Hotel Royal Oasis in Pétion-Ville, one of the best 5-star hotels in Haiti. The location alone is incredible. We were set up in a great spot with these epic views of Port-au-Prince, which was honestly the easiest way to figure out our bearings. We didn’t even need a map!
Now, let’s talk food because this hotel understood the assignment. Having two restaurants on-site was super convenient. But the real star of the show was none other than the pool. We think we spent hours out there in total. The sun terraces are massive, and we would argue it’s the most chill, relaxing zone on the entire property. Also, don’t miss out on a quick drink at one of their two bars.
We got the Superior Room, and it ticked every single box. It was clean, bright, and had that kind of simple, sleek look that just works. Shout out to the flat-screen TV and, most importantly, the ice-cold air conditioning. Plus, the flexibility is awesome.

Where to Stay in Haiti
Pétion-Ville is the primary choice for those who need five-star consistency. Located in the hills above Port-au-Prince, this district offers a concentrated “safe zone” where hotels provide 24/7 power, high-speed internet, and proximity to the city’s best restaurants and galleries, effectively mitigating the logistical challenges of the downtown core.
If your visit is focused on heritage or a slower pace, Cap-Haïtien in the north is the best alternative. This area offers a more manageable, secure environment for international visitors. It serves as a strategic base for those visiting the Citadelle Laferrière while providing upscale accommodations. Staying here allows for a smoother transition between sightseeing and the secure environment of a luxury hotel.
For a trip that’s strictly about relaxing, the Côte des Arcadins is where you’ll find the best beach resorts. Located about an hour or so from the capital, this area is basically a long strip of private properties right on the water. It’s a great area if you just want to stay in one place and have everything handled for you.
What is the nicest place in Haiti?
