Most of our time was spent either in the pool or on the beach. Having free parking also made coming and going convenient, and the staff was helpful and approachable. Plus, it was clear they were used to assisting guests from all over. We also noticed they have a meeting room and even handle weddings, which gives the place a bit more versatility than we expected.

We booked one of the bungalows, and it was the perfect choice for us. It boasted reliable air conditioning and free Wi-Fi that actually worked well. Daily housekeeping kept everything clean, and we also got a free extra bed. How thoughtful!

Auberge du Rayon Vert is the place to be if you want a humble, beach-town vibe. This place is built from local stone, which gives it a solid, homey look, and it sits right across from the sandy beach in Port Salut. From the arches around the property, we kept catching great views of the water, especially in the late afternoon. The staff told us about the famous “green ray” sunset, so of course, we made it our mission to look for it every evening.

Most of our days were pretty simple: beach, shade, repeat. The loungers were perfect for lazy stretches in the sun, and when it got too hot, we would move to the covered gallery to cool off without losing the ocean breeze. We also took the kayaks out a couple of times.

Dinner was a nice surprise because they served European-style dishes, which isn’t something you find everywhere in the area. It’s a relaxed, family-style setting, and we liked hanging out there in the evenings with a cocktail in hand, waiting for the sky to put on a show.

We really can’t recommend the Abaka Bay Resort enough. Our first night there, we happened to be the only guests on the property, which gave the place this almost surreal, private-resort feel. Dinner was a full buffet, which included lobster and steak. By the next day, a couple of other guests arrived, bringing the vibe back to normal, but that first-night quiet was pretty unforgettable.

What stood out during our trip was how solid the staff and service were. Everything went smoothly from the moment we landed to the moment we arrived on the island. On-site, the team was consistently friendly, professional, and always a step ahead.

We also took a walk over the hill to the other side of Île-à-Vache, and the views were absolutely worth the effort. And yes, the resort’s resident dog made sure to greet us every time he spotted us. Overall, the experience was easy, welcoming, and better than we even expected.

La Source Hotel & Resort

For a short getaway, La Source Hotel & Resort managed to impress us. Our days started with the free full breakfast, which made mornings simple, and we spent plenty of time relaxing around the outdoor pool. The poolside bar and the big terrace gave us space to hang out, and we noticed that a lot of families spend time in the garden and playground.

What we appreciated most was how convenient everything was. Parking was free, bikes were available when we felt like exploring, and the airport shuttle helped get in and out without stress. On top of that, we also spotted barbecue grills and a meeting room.

Furthermore, our room was just as straightforward and comfortable. We had good air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, bottled water, and a flat-screen TV. The bathroom was stocked with basic toiletries, and housekeeping stopped by daily to keep things tidy.

Moulin Sur Mer

Moulin Sur Mer is built on what used to be an 18th-century sugar cane plantation, so the colonial architecture gives the place a distinct personality. Even though it’s a historic site, the resort setup is modern and comfortable, and with 68 rooms, it never felt overcrowded. We settled in quickly and appreciated how calm the whole place felt.

A nice surprise was Marina Blue, their newly added boat and jet ski facility. We can’t deny, it was great having easy access to everything we needed when we wanted to get out on the water. It added a little variety to our stay without us having to leave the property.

We also loved spending time at Zile Soley, the small private island connected by a bridge. It’s simple but really convenient if you want a quieter spot to hang out. We could see why they use it for weddings and private events, as there’s plenty of space and a nice ocean backdrop. And yes, the sunsets there were genuinely impressive.

Cap Lamandou Hotel

Best Location. Cap Lamandou is easily one of the best beach hotels in Haiti. The property has a simple charm to it, and you can tell it’s well-maintained both inside and out. One thing we really appreciated was how close it is to downtown Jacmel. Since most public transportation involves hopping on a motorcycle, being near the city made getting around much easier than if we had stayed at the more distant beach hotels.

Our room came with a balcony, and the view was honestly the first thing we looked forward to each morning. Being right next to the beach was a big plus, and we appreciated how short the walk down to the water was.

We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning, which was a nice bonus. The rest of the menu felt reasonably priced, and everything we tried tasted good. The staff deserves a shout-out as well; everyone we interacted with was pleasant, helpful, and easy to talk to.

Best All-Inclusive. Kaliko Beach Club is one of those beach resorts in Haiti that allows you to just enjoy without overthinking anything. One of our favorite things about this resort is the private beach. We loved having easy access to the beach volleyball, scuba diving, and even horseback riding.

This is an all-inclusive, so our meals were covered at the two on-site restaurants. The Caribbean dishes were solid, and having both a beach bar and a poolside bar made it easy to grab drinks throughout the day. We also tried a spa treatment during our stay and appreciated having a gym on-site to balance out how much we were eating.

We booked the bungalow with an ocean view, and although simple, it was comfortable. The free Wi-Fi worked well, which helped us plan activities and stay connected. Around the resort, we found plenty of little conveniences, too, like cabanas, tennis courts, sun loungers, free parking, and helpful staff who were quick with tips and tour assistance.

As one of the best Haiti hotels on the beach, the Royal Decameron Indigo made everything easy for us. The resort sits right on the beach, so getting from our room to the water took all of two minutes. One thing we didn’t expect to enjoy as much as we did was the free bike rental. Riding around the area turned out to be a fun way to break up the usual pool-and-beach routine.

We got the Standard Room, which was bright and roomy. It also came with a balcony where we relaxed in the evenings. It had the basics we needed: a flat-screen TV, a small fridge, and reliable airiness, though the in-room Wi-Fi wasn’t free. Public areas do have complimentary Wi-Fi, so we mostly used it there.

Food-wise, we never ran out of options. The buffet kept things simple, and the two specialty restaurants gave us some nice variety with seafood and regional dishes. During the day, we switched between the main pools and the beach, depending on our mood. The resort also packs in plenty of activities, including snorkeling, tennis, golf, and a gym.

Best Dining. We stayed three nights at Hôtel Restaurant Cyvadier Plage, and it was some of the best times we had in Jacmel. The hotel sits above a small bay, so we always had a nice view and the steady sound of the ocean in the background. It’s a simple, attractive property, easy to settle into, and it immediately felt like a comfortable base for exploring the town.

The staff really stood out during our stay. Everyone, from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping, was friendly, professional, and well-trained. Breakfast became one of our favorite parts of the day: fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and the usual choices like omelettes or pancakes. And if you ask, they’ll make Haitian spaghetti in the morning, which we loved. The restaurant stays open until 9:30 PM and the food was consistently good.

Best for Families. We spent a few days at Wahoo Bay Beach Club & Resort, and what they said was true; this resort is amazing. It’s close to the Ogier-Fombrun Museum, so getting there was easy, but once we arrived, we honestly didn’t want to go elsewhere. We kicked things off with a beachside massage, which turned out to be one of the best perks.

When we weren’t on the beach, we were probably chilling in our room. It had a comfortable, homey feel, and the patio with a sea view was a nice bonus. What about the practical amenities like free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, and minifridge? We had them all! Best Amenities. We had a smooth experience with Cormier Plage Resort right from the start. Because we arranged things ahead of time, their driver was already waiting for us as soon as we walked out of the airport, which saved us a lot of hassle. Checking into our Classic Room was quick, and the room was as we expected: clean, spacious, and had a simple, vintage charm. We also loved having a balcony to unwind on.

We happened to arrive on a day when a beach concert was happening, so after dropping our bags, we headed down to see what was going on. The staff was friendly, and the beers were cold.
