Baymont by Wyndham Indianapolis
11
We begin with the Baymont by Wyndham Indianapolis, which felt like we’d come to an inviting mountain lodge rather than a Wyndham hotel. This Indianapolis hotel sits just east of downtown, but we were more impressed by the spacious rooms. Our Deluxe King Suite was the ticket, as it had a hot tub right in the very room. Huge enough for the two of us, it sat on a tiled space that was separate from the carpeted floor. If that wasn’t enough, it had a privacy wall too. So, even when room service came up, we didn’t have to worry about getting out of that tub. Not just that, but also there was a balcony overlooking the indoor pool. Plus, there were many other room and suite options with hot tubs right within!
What’s more, we were impressed by the rest of the hotel too, especially the scale and variety of amenities. Since we’re talking about hot tubs and pools, the huge indoor pool area was our favorite, since it had a hot tub and even daybeds to lounge after a swim. A slick onsite fitness center aside, there were also laundry facilities, which was a blessing for us since we had an extended stay here. However, the best bit was that despite not having a restaurant, we were treated to huge, hearty, complimentary breakfasts every day.

Best Western Indian Oak, Chesterton

Next up is Best Western Indian Oak in the charming town of Chesterton, Indiana. We’ve always loved Best Western properties for their spacious digs, and this one was no different. All rooms boasted free Wi-Fi, huge flatscreen TVs, coffee machines, fridges, microwaves, and, of course, lots and lots of space. However, the most spacious was our Queen Room with a Spa Bath. It came with a lovely, blue-tiled whirlpool tub for two people right next to the bed. Since the design of the room was perfectly rectangular, we had lots of walking around space even after that. Furthermore, some few rooms even have woods or lake views, and ours was the same.
Since it was a Best Western Hotel, it came with a ton of amenities, starting with a heated indoor pool. So, we could enjoy a swim anytime we wanted. There was also a fitness center, a communal hot tub and sauna, a vending machine, and even a 24-hour front desk. And even though they didn’t have a restaurant, they had a fabulous breakfast room where they served a heavenly breakfast spread every morning.

We wanted to stay around Indianapolis but without the city center bustle. That’s why we chose the Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis South/Greenwood. It lay just 15 minutes from downtown, so we were far from the bustle and yet close enough to explore. There were a lot of room choices for us here, but we chose the one-bedroom suite for one and one reason only: the spa bath right in the room. It was a palatial suite in the truest of senses, with the spa bath neatly tucked in the corner and hidden from view. Moreover, it even had a wet floor, which meant the rest of our carpeted floor didn’t get wet. Other mod-cons like a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a coffeemaker made our stay even more comfortable.
Like other Hilton properties, this Hilton Garden Inn had an indoor pool, which meant we could go swimming in any season. What’s more, it also had laundry facilities, a 24-hour business center, and a spacious fitness center. Finally, thanks to the Great American Grill, we were able to enjoy hearty breakfasts and dinners right at the hotel.

Hampton Inn Ft. Wayne-Southwest

We’re always excited by the dependability of the Hampton Inn chain, and the Hampton Inn Ft. Wayne-Southwest was no exception. The spacious and oversized suites impressed us to the hilt, especially since they all had lots of walking around space, plush beds. and modern bathrooms. However, what impressed us the fact that our King Room came with a jacuzzi bathtub right in the room, and not in the bathroom. The design was unique; a wide corridor let from the room to the bathroom, and that’s where the huge jacuzzi tub was, complete with a phone right beside should we want to order room service. Needless to say, we had a very comfortable stay here.
The rest of the hotel was equally amazing, with a 24-hour front desk, a fitness center, an indoor pool, and free Wi-Fi that allowed us to stay connected. What’s more, our days began with excellent and hearty breakfast spreads, which included American, continental, and buffet options.

Hampton Inn and Suites Indianapolis-Fishers

As we mentioned above, Hampton Inn has always been a dependable chain for us. That being said, the Hampton Inn and Suites Indianapolis-Fishers was our favorite for more reasons than one. One of the biggest reasons for it was that some rooms, including ours, of course, had jacuzzi baths right in the very room. Our spacious room, the king studio with a spa bath and a fireplace, was one of the best jacuzzi suites we’d stayed at. It not only had a fireplace right underneath the TV but also an ensuite spa bath for two just next to the bed. However, what floored was – quite literally – was that it sat on a separate tiled space, so our carpeted space didn’t get wet. Other mod-cons, like an HDTV, a microwave, a small fridge, and a coffeemaker, made our stay amazing.
We loved the other amenities all over the hotel. Firstly, our days began with huge complimentary breakfast spreads, which was enough to keep us fueled for the rest of the day. Besides free Wi-Fi and a fitness center, the indoor pool was a blessing for cooling off on hot days.

Best B&B. We wanted to stay in a B&B rather than a traditional hotel, which is why we chose the At Home in the Woods Bed and Breakfast in Chesterton. Ensconced in serene, lush greenery just minutes from the Indiana Dunes National Park, the B&B was Northwest Indiana hospitality at its very best. With just four rooms to choose from, it felt like a very intimate and exclusive stay.
We chose the Rocky Mountain Room, which drew inspiration from the Rocky Mountains. What we loved the most was the heated whirlpool tub in the corner, which was surrounded by a tile and river rock wall that resemble the Big Thompson Canyon’s walls. Not just that, but also there was a fireplace designed from the property’s field stones. A comfy and plush bed, a modern bathroom, and lovely views of the woods complete the room.
Despite being a B&B, the place also had a cozy sunlit great room with a wood-burning fireplace, a wonderful pool where we could swim and splash to our heart’s content, stargaze from the hot tub, and unwind in the hot sauna.

Since it sat right next to the Edinburgh Premium Outlet Mall, we couldn’t think of a better place to stay during our shopping sojourn than the Hilton Garden Inn Columbus Edinburgh. Besides the excellent shopping prospects, what excited us was one-bedroom king suite, which came with a spa bath right in the room!
First of all, our suite was huge and had lots of space to walk around. What’s more, the spa bath sat in a separate tiled area with a wet floor, and that too just steps from the bed, in the corner of the room. However, what truly thrilled us was the fact that it faced the TV, so we could actually watch our favorite movie while unwinding in the bath. Moreover, all rooms, including ours, had microwaves, fridges, modern bathrooms, and plush beds.
Downstairs, we found all amenities we were looking for, including an indoor pool, a hot tub, a gym, and even a snack store.

We were excited to stay at Wyndham Garden Fort Wayne because we’d heard so much about it, and we were really intrigued as to how a chain hotel was going to step up the hospitality game. And boy, we were impressed! Firstly, it boasted an excellent location just off the I-69, close to the town center. What’s more, the rooms and suites all had free Wi-Fi, seating areas, and coffeemakers, but our King Room even had a jacuzzi bathtub right in the room. The best bit? It was not the only room with a jacuzzi tub, and we had multiple choices for the same.
This Wyndham hotel offered free buffet breakfasts which would fuel us up for the entire day. Moreover, the hotel also had meeting rooms and an onsite fitness center.

Treetop Retreat, Nashville

Most unique. We were looking for a romantic retreat which is why we chose the gorgeous Treetop Retreat in Nashville. Tucked amidst 12 acres of lush hilltop foliage, this property had just four accommodations, of which our favorite was the Treetop Suite. It boasted an indoor jetted-spa tub in the corner of the room, from where we could gaze over a carpet of foliage arouns. Our king bed and fireplace shared the same spectacular views, and our suite even had a full kitchen. So, basically, we never had to leave, if we wished!
“Unique accommodations don’t get any better than Treetop Retreat, which allowed us to enjoy the natural beauty around.”
WOW Travel
The property is all about enjoying the forested hills that offered immense peace and quiet. There was even a fire pit at the very hilltop, a safe distance from the digs, and which had spectacualr views of the skies and the rolling hills. It was the perfect place to unwind and retreat from the bustle of the busy, modern world.

Old Northside Bed & Breakfast, Indianapolis

Most romantic. The Old Northside Bed & Breakfast is a historic luxurious B&B that we were lucky enough to find right in Indianapolis. Every inch of the space was Instagrammable, with the comfort and hospitality being off the charts. Our hosts welcomed us very warmly, chatted with us about the place, and told us everything we could possibly see and do in Indianapolis. Our mornings would begin with huge breakfast spreads, complete with hot and cold delights. Moreover, there was free Wi-Fi too.
However, the rooms and suites were the highlight here, as some even came with sofas, private fireplaces, and — get thus — spa baths. Our room had a spa bath right in the room next to the bed. So, after a long day of exploring the city, there was nothing better than running a luxurious bath in the luxury of our own digs. With free popcorn, refreshments, and 24-hour snack bar with movie rentals, it’s no wonder we never left the room!

Sybaris Pool Suites

Best overall. Sitting at the top of the list is Sybaris Pool Suites, as this is the only hotel on this list that actually has a swimming pool — yes, a swimming pool — in the room. We had the choices of the Chalet, Majestic, and the Paradise swimming pool suites, all of which boasted actual plunge swimming pools. They lay right through a pair of glass doors in the rooms, just steps away from the plush beds.
While the Chalet suite was a two-storied marvel, our Paradise suite was enough for the two of us for our romantic staycation. It wasn’t just a private swimming pool; it even had a cascading waterfall, a soothing whirlpool tub, and a tropical steam room right next to it. So, after a blissful plunge, we’d relax in the massage chair or settle down with a glass of wine in front of the cozy fireplace. Without phones or windows, there wasn’t a better way to cut off from the world, in a good way. And since the hotel is surrounded by many restaurants around, we didn’t have to worry about food either.
That’s why this is also one of the best hotels with pools in the room in Indianapolis.

Where to Stay in Indiana?
Indian is a gorgeous state with urban centers and natural wonders abound. However, it does have a lot of cities and towns where you can possibly enjoy a romantic and laidback vacation. So, which the best area to stay when traveling to Indiana?
If you prefer staying somewhere central, we recommend staying around the Nine-County region. Home to a third of the state’s population, it’s also home to the capital city of Indianapolis, as well as other major cities and towns like Noblesville, Greenwood, Franklin, and Anderson. Besides cutesy bed and breakafsts, this is where we found a lot of choices for major hotel chains as well.
However, we love the countryside atmosphere too, which is why we also headed towards and stayed in Southern Indiana. In this region, we saw the gorgeous landscape in the form of forests, lowlands, and hills. Its largest city is Bloomington, home to Indiana University, and it also has other cities like Dale, French Lick, and Corydon. Moreover, it’s also home to Brown County State Park, which is the largest of the state’s 24 state parks.
