Town & Tide Inn

Town & Tide Inn was the first hotel we stayed in the first time we visited Newport. It was the best choice we have ever made. The hotel isn’t as small as other boutique hotels in the city, but it isn’t too large, so we could receive a personalized experience and a warm welcome there. We had a large room that overlooked a nice view of the garden. The fresh breakfast outdoors in this view was exceptional. We felt like we were staying in a retro-modern villa that belonged to a king or someone very rich.
The building from the outside, the lobby, and the rooms all have the same color palette. We were astonished at how attentive the designers of this hotel were. Similarly, the staff and even the owner were very attentive. They took care of us as if we were the only guests there. The owner welcomed us, and she was keen to give us a heads-up about the place and Newport City. You can check some of the other guests’ reviews on the official website here.

We would have never paid such a rate if it hadn’t been The Vanderbilt. This hotel is expensive, we know, but we had to think twice because the photos were very enticing. In reality, the experience is way better. We felt like VIPs in this hotel. The staff did everything possible to make us feel at ease. We were captivated by how friendly and professional they were.
On the other side, the hotel, with its views, amenities, and cleanliness, offered us the most luxurious experience at Newport. We had a good view wherever we stayed in the hotel. Whether it was the garden where we could indulge in homemade American food or the rooftop bar where we could sip signature cocktails while enjoying a spectacular view of the harbor, both had the same spectacular views. Our room also had a nice city view that we enjoyed every night from the small terrace.

Step back in time by staying in this wonderful boutique hotel, Gardiner House. We never thought we could have an accurate 70s—80s experience this way. The moment we stepped inside the house or the hotel, we were swallowed by a time machine. Everything inside looked old in a neat, clean way. Even the staff wore an old-fashioned uniform to suit the place.
No matter which room you choose, you’ll enjoy the same experience. The bed, bathtub, chairs, tables, and every single piece of furniture is designed to blend with other pieces, forming this spectacular 80 painting. In the dining room, we had our meals while enjoying the beauty of the city from the large windows. We also had a great time in the old-fashioned bar serving the newest cocktails. Here, at the Gardiner House, we had the best combination of new and old.

The Chanler at Cliff Walk

Best old-fashioned. Here comes our favorite boutique hotel at the Cliff Walk. The Chanler at Cliff Walk is a unique hotel with several rooms; each has a different style. We would stay there as many times as the number of rooms to try them all. We stayed in the Victorian, Greek, Moroccan, and Federal Manor rooms. The rooms made us feel we were in a different hotel each time. Take a look at all the rooms here on their official website.
The Federal Manor guestroom had old French-inspired decor. The signature piece there was the fireplace. The Greek room had finely detailed furniture with symbols from the Greek empire. It was a small room, but we enjoyed the ocean view from this room. Our favorite was the largest Moroccan room, which had a large, comfy bed and a sofa. We can’t wait to try other rooms and get the full experience. Moreover, the hotel is located at Cliff Walk, where we can satisfy our taste buds with a variety of food options. The Cara restaurant inside the hotel is also great and worth a try.

Best Beachfront. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, we found this marvelous boutique hotel. It’s Castle Hill Inn, which was true to its name—it’s really a castle. The hotel isn’t very far from The Cliff Walk. Moreover, it overlooked the ocean, and we had the best sunbathing on the lounge chairs on the hotel’s private beach. The beach was a big plus for us. We love beachfront hotels, and this one had more than a view to enjoy.
Every morning, we had our mouthwatering selective breakfast inside the hotel. On some days, we decided to try lunch and dinner, which was our best decision. The seafood there was unbeatable. At night, it was time to explore the city. We got complimentary bikes from the hotel and hiked all the way to the Cliff Walk. It was a great tour that didn’t cost us a penny. Back to our accommodation, we enjoyed the professional service and friendly staff. It’s one of the best hotels in Newport to enjoy a peaceful stay by the sea.

Serenity Inn Newport

Serenity Inn Newport is categorized as a bed-and-breakfast house. However, we found it to be one of the best boutique hotels in Newport, Rhode Island. The staff warmly welcomed us and helped us with our bags. They were so friendly that they gave us information about everything around us even before we asked. They told us about the best places to eat and drink around. Inside our room, we had premium toiletries, towels, and bed sheets.
In brief, we had a warm welcome, a great experience, and a clean room. Aren’t boutique hotels all about this stuff? So, we can say nothing except that it was a lovely European-styled guest house that was worth every penny. With everything, including a delicious breakfast, inside our room, we needed nothing to enjoy a sense of serenity in this Serenity Inn.

If you love antique furniture, you’ll definitely love Marshall Slocum Inn. On the other side, if you’re looking for modern amenities and services, this boutique hotel will also meet your needs. It has some premium toiletries and modern amenities in a federalist-styled hotel. By the way, we have a list of the best toiletry bags for travelers here. It might interest you. Back to our lovely hotel, every single detail was taken care of inside the room. For example, there was a socket near the bed for those who don’t leave their phones until they’re asleep.
We had a very homely feel in this hotel. The vibes made us feel like we were staying in our grandma’s house. People there won’t keep asking you if you need anything, but whenever you ask for help, they’ll do it in no time. We liked that we could have private moments enjoying coffee and pastries in the garden. All of this came at a very acceptable rate, perhaps one of the cheapest in Newport.

Best vibes. We had wonderful vibes at the Gilded Hotel. The colorful design of the hotel was inviting, the rooms were similarly colorful, and the vibes were lively. We believe we will come here again if there is another chance. Our spacious room included a complimentary breakfast, similar to all large hotels. We had our breakfast every morning outside on the terrace. It was the perfect way to start our day.
“We loved the vibrant Gilded Hotel, which had just the boutique vibes we were looking for.
Further, tea and coffee were also complimentary to our stay. We could enjoy a hot drink and some snacks in the shared lounge next to the reception at any time. Whenever we wanted to wander around the city, we headed to the Cliff Walk, where we started roaming. Also, the wharf was about ten minutes’ walk from the hotel. The billiards hall was where we spent all our nights. We made good friends at this hotel. It seems like the friendly vibes are spreading all over the place.

America’s Cup Inn

Do you have a furry friend with you on this vacation? America’s Cup Inn is the place to consider without hesitation. It’s one of the best pet-friendly hotels in Newport. We knew that there were special rooms for pets. Our room had a kitchen, which saved a lot of money. We could grab some snacks and quick food from a nearby supermarket and enjoy them with hot drinks inside our beautiful room. However, we didn’t have to do the same for breakfast because it was mouthwatering.
The hotel amazingly blended oldish vibes with modern amenities. Think of red curtains shading the sun. When you open the curtains, the golden sun rays fall on the wooden furniture, showing off its authenticity. One step inside the bathroom, and you’re in a modern five-star hotel. On the rooftop, the setting is the best, where we could sit there for hours enjoying the quiet views of the neighborhood.

Wayfinder Newport

Newport is a city where we enjoy mansions and the oldish style. We also enjoyed the harbor views and walking by the sea. But at a certain moment, we needed a dip in a swimming pool followed by a fresh drink while enjoying a sun bath. That’s why we chose Wayfinder Newport Hotel. Considering the services and amenities we found, this small hotel is similar to large hotels. The snacks by the pool were missing in most of the boutique hotels in the city.
We chose a king suite with a pool view to enjoy the views and have a private kitchen where we could prepare small meals and midnight snacks. The on-site Nomi Park restaurant had many options, including special dietary meals. We loved that we had luxurious service and a boutique hotel’s warm, friendly atmosphere. Just check the time you’ll be traveling, as they sometimes close the pool when it’s too cold. You can contact the hotel directly to ask about such info at their official website.

The Attwater

Best location. We asked ourselves what we loved the best at The Attwater Hotel. We didn’t have a single answer to this question. Everything there was impeccable. The location was at the heart of everything. Whether it was the Cliff Walk or the City Center, where shops and restaurants were scattered, everything was easily reachable during our stay. Our room couldn’t have been better. We loved the colorful details they added to our room.
The cushions, curtains, and carpets all blended in a nice harmony to deliver this magnificent scene.
The shared lounge area had the same lovely vibes. We never stay in hotel lounge areas as we have other things to do. However, we enjoyed the lounge area there as it felt like a coffee shop. On top of all, the breakfast was amazing. It had lots of varieties and options, so we could try something new every day.

Where to Stay in Newport, Rhode Island?
As the name suggests, Newport is a seaside city. So, most people think that there is nothing better in such a city than beachfront hotels. To some extent, we agree. However, Newport has more to offer. Here are the best areas to find a stay in.
The Cliff Walk is a fabulous area that blends historical vibes with natural sea views. You’ll be the luckiest if you can find a perfect hotel in this area or nearby. We recommended several options above. Most of the hotels there have a certain architectural style that reminds us of the colonial age. The hotels look old, but they’re wonderful, and you’ll be well-served there.
Another option is the Newport Harbor. This is where we enjoyed nice views of the sailing yachts every day and night. The hotels there are a bit expensive, but they’re worth a try. We didn’t regret a penny spent there. The area was vibrant and full of life, events, and eateries. Hotels are available on most streets in Newport, but one of the best is Bellevue Avenue. This street is famous for its historical museums. It’s a long street, so it’s better to find a hotel near one of the museums, namely the Newport Art Museum and the National Museum of American Illustration, as they’re the main tourist spots.
