Sonesta ES Suites Birmingham Homewood

Best Pet Amenities. We had a tail-wagging experience at Sonesta ES Suites Birmingham Homewood! From the moment we stepped through the doors with our four-legged companion, it was clear that this place truly understands and appreciates pet lovers.
The pet-friendly policies were a huge relief. It’s a real game-changer for us, as we’re proud multi-pet parents. And the best part? It’s not just a haven for dog lovers; they welcome our feline friends too! For a week’s stay, we were only charged $75 for both dogs. If you’re planning to stay longer, the pet fee comes to $25 per week thereafter. It’s truly a great deal for us, no wonder they also made it to our best cheap hotels in Birmingham list.
“We only stayed here for a couple of nights, and it was amazing for both us and our dogs. it was really convenient that it was so affordable and we got so many pet amenities, too. Next time we’d definetely stay for longer!”
WOW Travel
Moreover, the amenities for our furry pals were a thoughtful touch. The designated pet areas were clean and well-stocked with waste bags. The staff’s genuine affection for animals made the stay feel like a home away from home. Per their “Pet Are Welcome at Sonesta” a.k.a PAWS program, our dogs were given beds, bowls, waterproof mats, and treats in our room. How awesome is that?

Hampton Inn Birmingham/Mountain Brook

Our stay at the Hampton Inn Birmingham/Mountain Brook was a comfortable one. It was apparent from the get-go that the staff are very professional and accommodating. It’s also nice to see that the staff were excited to welcome our dog. That said, we did have to pay a $75 pet fee for one dog, and make sure our pup weighed less than 50 lbs per the hotel’s policies. We were also informed that cats are sadly not allowed at the hotel.
As for the hotel’s hospitality, it was on par with our standards. The room we got was comfortable for both us and our dog. Every day we got a hot breakfast. The also hotel has an ample outdoor grassy area for our dog to potty. Lastly, the location worked well with us. It only took less than 10 minutes for us to get downtown, and conveniently, the Birmingham Zoo was close by.

Another hotel we got to stay at while in town was the Home2 Suites by Hilton Birmingham Downtown. From the get-go, the location was a highlight for us. Being close to downtown means we could easily explore the city. That aside, we were glad that the hotel welcomed both cats and dogs, since this time we brought our feline friend with us.
Pet policies-wise they were reasonable, considering the hotel’s quality service and hospitality. With one cat, we paid a $75 pet fee, and it covers for 4 nights for two pets of any size and breed. For longer stays, the pet fee becomes $125. As for pet amenities, there weren’t that many. But, our room did have a couch that our cat loved, and a sunspot for her to bask in.
Furthermore, the hotel has a couple of facilities that made our stay even better. There was an outdoor terrace, a swimming pool, and a continental breakfast every morning. All in all, we can see ourselves visiting Home2 Suites by Hilton Birmingham Downtown again.

When traveling with pets, staying in a suite will always guarantee comfort for us. That’s why, we picked the Residence Inn by Marriott Birmingham Downtown UAB for this list. For one, the hotel had a great location, so that’s always a good feature in our book. Secondly, being a part of the Marriott group, we can expect for top-notch hospitality. And most importantly, the hotel offers all-suite guestrooms.
Furthermore, the pet policies here were one we could get behind. The hotel allows for a maximum of two pets (cats and dogs) per room weighing a max of 30 lbs. That said, the pet fee here depends on how many pets you bring. So for us, since we brought two dogs, our pet fee came to $125 per stay. But, if you only brought one pet, the pet fee is $100 per stay.
Now, as we said before, we loved a suite guestroom. Our dogs got to have more space for themselves, and we got to have more in-room amenities. There was a fully equipped kitchen, and our dogs’ fave, a sitting area with a large couch. It’s also very convenient that our pets were permitted unattended in the room since we then could check out the facilities of the hotel, or just go get a quick dinner in town.

Elyton Hotel

Best Location. The Elyton Hotel was a fancier type of hotel for us. It’s housed in a historical building in Downtown Birmingham, but it has the comfort of modern facilities. The hotel itself was very stylish and we felt lucky that our cat was able to travel in such luxury.
What’s more, the hotel was simply excellent when it came to hospitality for both us and our cat. Considering the location and high-quality services, it’s reasonable that the pet fee is $150 per pet/stay. Although, if you bring two pets, they will only charge $25 for the additional furry guest. That said, the pet amenities we got were a nice payoff. Our cat got a stylish scarf, a bed, bowls, and treats. Additionally, we were allowed to leave our pets in the room.
Furthermore, the hotel is ideally located across Railroad Park and numerous pet-friendly shops and bars. Although, the hotel’s rooftop bar, Moonshine, offers a nice hangout place with a panoramic view.

Sheraton Birmingham

For a guaranteed high-quality stay, we can always count on Sheraton Birmingham. And it’s no different this time. As always, Sheraton Birmingham came through, even if we’re staying with pets.
The hospitality was unquestionably amazing. The staff warmly welcomed us and were excited to have furry guests. They also very nicely helped us check in. Making sure our dogs didn’t exceed the weight limit of 60 lbs and then giving them treats for being such good boys. The pet fee was $50 per pet/stay, so for our two dogs, we paid $100.
When everything was set and done, we were escorted to our room which was very comfortable and pristine. Our dogs loved the plushy bed and sometimes would nap in the lounge. Lastly, pets aren’t allowed to be left alone in the room, but it was no biggie for us since the hotel’s so close to many pet-friendly spots. Overall, next time we’d love to bring our cat here since the hotel also allows cats.

The Westin Birmingham

The Westin Birmingham was one of our favorite pet-friendly hotels in Birmingham, AL. It checks out all of our preferred features in a hotel. For starters, it’s located in Downtown Birmingham, so an instant win for us. Secondly (for obvious reasons), our dog got to stay with us. And lastly, their services stood out to us.
When we got here, the staff immediately came to our assistance. Helping us with checking in and explaining the pet policies. Our dogs passed with flying colors when it came to weighing less than 50 lbs and being a good boy. After settling the $50 pet fee for our one-night stay, we then got our room card. In our room, our dog was given more treats and a dog bed. And since our pup is well-trained, we were able to leave him in the room to enjoy some of the hotel’s facilities. Our favorite ones were the pool and the full-service bar. In the morning, we also loved getting our breakfast in the outdoor area so our dog could join us.
Additionally, the downtown location proved to be convenient for us since we were able to easily explore the town. And there were plenty of nearby grassy areas for our dog to potty. Lastly, for feline parents, the hotel also welcomes your cats to stay here with you.

Hotel Indigo

Best Atmosphere. For us, the Hotel Indigo isn’t only renowned for being a top-notch pet-friendly hotel but also for its chic art deco vibes. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, the stylish decor set the tone. Moreover, our awe didn’t stop there, the attentive staff immediately swooped in and took care of us.
We had a smooth check-in since our dog met all the pet policy requirements. We made sure our dog was under the 40 lbs weight limit and paid the $75 pet fee. Even though we only had one dog with us, the pet fee covers two pets, and both cats and dogs are permitted at the hotel. Notably, there weren’t a lot of pet amenities in our room, but the wooden floor made it easier to clean up after our dog. And the guestroom itself was nice. There was a lounge that became our dog’s fave spot.
Furthermore, the hotel’s location is pretty solid. It’s only 10 minutes away from downtown, and there’s a nearby park to take our dog for potty and walks. All in all, we had a good stay here and would recommend you check the hotel out.

Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB

As a rule of thumb, we always look for a Hilton hotel whenever we travel with our pets since they are more likely to be pet-friendly. We have yet to be disappointed since Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB welcomed us once more with our feline bestie. Like many of our stays in a Hilton hotel, this time we were also treated well by the staff.
Their services are always on point, as are their pet policies. For starters, both cats and dogs are welcome here, granted they have to weigh below 75 lbs. As for the pet fee, it’s $75 per pet/stay. This time we only brought one cat with us, so we opted for the standard pet-friendly room. It was spacious enough for both us and our cat to be comfortable. In the room, our cat also got complementary treats and bowls for food and water. That said, the large window quickly became our cat’s fave spot to nap.
Furthermore, the hotel itself has some amazing facilities. Since we couldn’t leave our cat alone in the room, we would take turns going to the pool. But, thanks to the outdoor patio, we were able to get breakfast together with our cat when the weather was nice.

This time, with two dogs, we opted for an all-suite hotel and lucked out with Homewood Suites by Hilton Birmingham Downtown Near UAB. Not only does the hotel have a great location but the hospitality was on par too.
With our two dogs, we were able to comfortably stay here for a few nights. It also helped that the hotel had a reasonable pet policy and welcomed both cats and dogs. That said, for two dogs, we paid $125 per stay, which was justifiable since our dogs were quite big and the hotel doesn’t have any size restrictions. Plus, the suite room we got was spacious and had a lot of amenities. There was a sofa and a fully equipped kitchen.
What’s more, we also really liked the location. It was just on the outskirts of downtown so the area wasn’t too rowdy. We also found lots of pet-friendly restaurants nearby when we took our dogs for walks. And when we wanted to explore, the hotel provided a shuttle to go around.

Overall Best. Discovering a more secluded gem for our best pet-friendly hotels in Birmingham, we present the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook. Just minutes from the Birmingham Botanical Garden, this hotel offers a perfect escape from the city buzz. The Grand Bohemian stands out with its unique blend of luxury and warmth, featuring classic lodge-type architecture and bohemian chic decor.
Catering not only to human guests but also to our furry companions, the hotel impressed us with its pet-friendly approach. While they allow only one pet per room, limited to 40 lbs, we happily paid $150 for the stay, considering the upscale services provided.
Entering our stylish guestroom, our dog was greeted with a thoughtful array of amenities – toys, bowls, treats, and even waste bags. With our well-behaved pup allowed in the room, we indulged in spa treatments and pool time, although the hotel’s garden remains a favorite spot for quality time with our furry friend.
