Plus, the locals were very welcoming to both us and our dogs. It also helped that we could find tons of pet-friendly hotels in Mystic, Connecticut. Additionally, there were plenty of attractions to check out. The Mystic Port Museum, for starters, is a must-visit, especially since it’s dog-friendly. Secondly, the Mystic Aquarium is also a classic tourist attraction that we wouldn’t miss for the world.

Furthermore, we were also able to check out the neighboring towns like Pawcatuck, Groton, Stonington, and Uncasville. Each town had its own charm, which only made our stay all the more exciting and memorable. When exploring a new town, we always turn to Hyatt hotels for reliable and cozy accommodations, especially considering their usual pet-friendly policies. Our recent stay at Hyatt Place Mystic exceeded expectations, mostly for their impeccable service and excellent location that’s right in the heart of Mystic.

The welcoming staff, true to Hyatt’s renowned hospitality, greeted us warmly and assisted in ensuring we met all pet policies. Surprisingly budget-friendly, the $75 pet fee covered both dogs for up to a 7-day stay, with a reasonable $175 for a more extended visit. Adhering to a maximum weight policy, our two dogs could have a combined weight of 75 lbs, while a solo pup had a limit of 50 lbs. Unfortunately, cats are not allowed.

Once the fee was settled, the staff guided us to a spacious room, perfect for a comfortable stay with our furry companions. The room, equipped with essential amenities and a big sofa for our dogs’ lounging pleasure, met our standards. Given our well-behaved pets, we could confidently explore the hotel’s facilities, including the fitness center and swimming pool, leaving them unattended in the room.

Residence Inn Mystic Groton

Residence Inn Mystic Groton was another pet-friendly hotel that caught our attention on our trip. For starters, it had a great location, only minutes away from the town’s attractions like Mystic Aquarium. And secondly, their pet-friendly policies suited us well.

That said, this time, we brought our pet cat to stay here since the hotel welcomes both cats and dogs. However, the hotel only allows for one pet per room. The staff, right from the bat assisted us in everything. Our check-in was smooth sailing. We only had to pay for $100 pet fee per stay, and everything was settled since there’s no maximum weight policy.

After that, we headed to our guestroom, which was on the first floor, for easy access to the outdoor pet stations. As for the room itself, it was quite the highlight. We got the studio room with a kitchen and a seating area. Most importantly, there was a nice warm sun spot for our cat to take naps under. There weren’t many in terms of pet facilities, but our cat was allowed unattended in the room.

The Wolfstead

This time we opted for The Wolfstead, a holiday home, since we came back with our extended family and our dogs for a Mystic vacation. Now, The Wolfstead may not be smack-dabbed in the middle of downtown Mystic, but we do appreciate the secluded location. We were able to enjoy a quiet family getaway with the pleasure of having high-end amenities.

Along with being pet-friendly, The Wolfstead also offered us five beautifully appointed bedrooms with space big enough for eight guests and, of course, furry friends. Among the many amenities we got, there was an outdoor seasonal pool and a spacious kitchen/family space. The whole house was aesthetically designed with an open space architecture, making everything extra roomy.

That said, our favorite part of this holiday home was its backyard, where our dogs would frolic to their heart’s content. It also became our go-to place to have a picnic and just play around all day. When weren’t heading to the city, we would explore the nearby hiking trail with our dog and enjoy the surrounding nature.

La Quinta by Wyndham Stonington-Mystic Area

During our trip, we came across La Quinta by Wyndham Stonington-Mystic Area while exploring the neighboring town. Although technically situated in Pawcatuck, Mystic’s attractions were just a short 15-minute drive away, making it a convenient location.

Our stay at La Quinta was incredibly comfortable for both us and our dog, aligning perfectly with our preferences. The pet policies were standard, allowing one dog per room for a $25 daily fee; unfortunately, cats weren’t permitted. Additionally, for our dog, we had to make sure he didn’t exceed the 50 lbs weight policy.

Furthermore, our guest room, conveniently on the first floor, was not only spacious and comfy but also featured a couch for our dog to nap on. Plus, the thoughtful staff also left treats for our furry friend and informed us about a designated grassy area for his potty breaks. Although our dog couldn’t be left unattended in the room, we happily explored the surroundings, going for hikes or taking a short drive to Mystic.

While exploring Mystic, we decided to check out the pet-friendly holiday home, Chateau Stonington By Pmi, and it turned out to be a perfect blend of cozy and modern vibes. Our time here was absolutely delightful, creating wonderful family vacation memories with our dogs.

What made this place exceptional were its fantastic features. Firstly, the location was stunning, right by the lake, offering picturesque views through the ample windows in the house. The spacious yard allowed us to play freely with our dogs, and there was a lovely seating area by the lake for our meals. Secondly, the holiday home was well-equipped with essential amenities, from toiletries to washing machines, and a fully loaded kitchen, ensuring a hassle-free stay.

Moreover, the house accommodated eight people and two dogs comfortably. The best part? Chateau Stonington By PMI didn’t charge any extra fees for our canine companions, making our stay even more enjoyable and budget-friendly.

Motel 6 Groton, CT

Best Value for Money. Whenever we need reliable pet-friendly lodging, Motel 6 is our go-to choice. During our recent stay at Motel 6 Groton, CT, both we and our dog received a warm welcome from the staff. On our check-in, the staff happily gave our dog some treats for patiently waiting by the lobby and being a good boy. If that wasn’t amazing enough, imagine our delight when the staff announced that the hotel didn’t charge extra for pets. Granted, there were some policies, including a 20 lbs maximum weight for each pet dog, and the hotel only allows dogs and no cats.

Furthermore, when we got to our room, we were greeted with a spacious accommodation with ample windows and a couch, among other amenities. As for some details, the room had a floorboard, which made it easier to clean after our dog. That said, the hotel also had a grassy area for pets’ potty breaks. All in all, it was a cozy stay and the budget-friendly room was for sure a plus.

Hilton Garden Inn Preston

Continuing our exploration of towns near Mystic, we discovered the Hilton Garden Inn Preston, located less than 30 minutes away. While Preston had its own attractions, such as the Preston Ridge Vineyard and Foxwood Casino, the real standout was the hotel itself.

For one, the staff warmly welcomed us and gave our dogs some treats. As for the hotel’s pet policies, it was a Hilton standard with a $75 fee for up to a 4-night stay. After that, the fee comes to $100. This fee covered two pets, be they dogs or cats, with a combined weight limit of 60 lbs. Additionally, the room we got was simply excellent. We got the King room for more space, and it had a nice seating area with a matching couch.

Moreover, as per the hotel’s policy, our well-behaved dog was allowed to be left unattended in the room, which enabled us to check out the hotel’s facilities. Some of our faves were the indoor pool and the fitness center. Other than that, we also managed to check out the nearby casino.

House of 1833 Bed and Breakfast

House of 1833 Bed and Breakfast was a true gem when it comes to hotels in Mystic, CT, that allow dogs. Upon entering the hotel, it was like we time-traveled to the 19th century. All around the hotel, we were surrounded by antique decor and aesthetics. Whether it’s the fantastical wallpaper to vintage furnishing, the bed & breakfast was completely wrapped in everything classical. The hotel itself is homed inside a Greek Revival mansion, with a whimsical English garden that would be both ours and our dog’s fave spot to hang out.

We opted for the Peach Room, which had all sorts of authentic vintage furniture and a private garden terrace. All in all, our stay at House of 1833 Bed and Breakfast was one we would cherish forever.

This is the second Hyatt hotel we have on this list, and for number 3, we present Hyatt Place Uncasville. The hotel itself stood out to us for numerous reasons. For starters, the location; even though not exactly in Mystic, we could still reach the neighboring town in a 30-minute drive. Furthermore, Uncasville has its own interesting attractions, one being the Wildrose Horse Farm. Additionally, the hotel was also close to the Mohegan Sun, which is an entertainment center with casinos.

Location aside, the staff at Hyatt Place Uncasville were attentive and guided us through the check-in process, including an overview of pet policies. The hotel allows a maximum of two pet dogs per room, with a $75 fee covering a 4-night stay, extending to $175 for stays up to 30 days. Additionally, there’s a weight limit of 50 lbs for one dog and a combined 75 lbs for two dogs.

Furthermore, upon entering our guestroom, we were pleased to discover a pristine space with ample amenities and a sofa bed. As an added bonus, the staff thoughtfully left a treat for our dog along with waste bags for convenient potty breaks.

Best Location. If you’re seeking a pet-friendly hotel with a prime location and internationally recognized hospitality, Spark By Hilton Mystic Groton is the ideal choice. Our time spent here was full of conveniences. For one, the location is an obvious plus. It’s right in the heart of Mystic, with attractions like the Maritime Museum and Olde Mistick Village being a mile away.

Furthermore, the moment we got to the hotel, we were welcomed with friendly faces. The staff was a great help in assisting us in checking in and explaining the hotel’s pet policy. We learned that the hotel allows for a maximum of two pets per room. It can be either cats or dogs. There’s also a pet fee of $50 per stay and a max weight limit of 75 lbs.

All in all, it was a pretty good deal, especially since the guestroom was nice and modern. The bed was really plush and comfy. Additionally, among the amenities we got, there was a cozy couch near the window, which quickly became our cat’s territory. On top of these, the hotel also offered us free parking, free breakfasts, and access to their fitness center and swimming pool.

Overall Best. We’ve been to plenty of pet-friendly hotels in Mystic, but the Hampton Inn and Suites Mystic take the crown this time. Boasting an ideal downtown location, we were perfectly situated to explore Mystic, including attractions like Mystic Seaport and the iconic Mystic Pizza.

The hotel’s exceptional hospitality towards both us and our dogs left a lasting impression. The staff’s friendliness and professionalism were evident, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of having a designated floor for pet-friendly rooms—a clear sign of their inclusivity toward pet parents. Our first-floor room made it convenient for our dog’s potty breaks at the hotel’s grassy outdoor area.

Moreover, when it came to the pet policies, it was very accommodating for all types of furry friends. The hotel doesn’t discriminate between cats and dogs, as they welcome both. As for us, we appreciated how the hotel also doesn’t have a size restriction since our four-pawed bestie is quite the chunky boy. This, combined with the unbeatable location and top-notch hospitality, made the Hampton Inn and Suites Mystic worthy of being our overall best.
