Plaza Inn & Suites at Ashland Creek

Best location. Starting strong on our list with Plaza Inn & Suites at Ashland Creek. Located on Central Ave, this pet-friendly hotel is within walking distance of Downtown Plaza and its many shops and restaurants. The hotel itself sports a modern and contemporary interior with Shakespearean-inspired decor, an homage to the neighboring Oregon Shakespeare Festival. As Shakespeare fans ourselves, we greatly enjoyed this feature.
Beyond its aesthetics, the hotel proved to be a fantastic accommodation for us and our pets. With their pet policy welcoming a maximum of two pets (cats/dogs) for a $35 fee per pet, per night, we got to stay with our dog hassle-free. The staff and their impeccable hospitality also made our stay smooth sailing. They helped us have a quick check-in, only making sure our dog met the 60lb weight cap and then handed us keys to our room.
After that, everything was bliss. We got to enjoy complimentary breakfast every day, and a relaxing downtown at the hotel’s sun terrace and garden seating area. Our nights were always well-rested, thanks to the hotel’s cozy room, complete with a plush bed, a sofa for our dog to lounge on, and all the standard mod-cons for our convenience. There were also additional amenities like a fitness center, and free parking for guests, ensuring an all-around comfortable stay for us.

Best value for money. The Nightingales Inn is a quaint bed & breakfast with private rooms available for rent. The inn is owned by mystery novel authors and it’s reflected in the inn’s decor and atmosphere. When we got here, we were greeted with a beautiful house surrounded by tall trees, and a well-kept garden. We loved how it gives the inn a secluded feeling, despite its central location, only a few blocks from Main Street.
The inn itself was very cozy with vintage furnishing, and a homey feeling. We especially loved relaxing by the inn’s deck, and warming ourselves by the fire-pit, whilst sipping on some complimentary wine, with our dog as a companion.
“Staying at the Nightingales Inn felt like we were visiting Granny’s home: warm and delicious breakfast every morning, hosts who loved our dog as much as we do, and an overall familiar warm and hearthy feeling.”

As for the cabins themselves, its wooden building gives off a cozy vibe, whilst still having the comfort of modern equipment like a kitchen, a fireplace, and a jacuzzi. We had the one fit for two guests, but the inn has cabins big enough for up to six guests.

As a pet-friendly inn, the hotel allows one dog in their lodge rooms, and two dogs in the cabins. There’s no size restriction, but there’s a $25 pet fee per stay in the lodge rooms and a $50 pet fee in the cabins.
