New Orleans offers many reasons to visit, whether the festive vibes of Mardi Gras or the round-the-clock nightlife. Or, you might be just stopping there for a couple of days before heading to the next destination. In any case, we recommend staying at any of the best motels in New Orleans, LA. We prefer motels over traditional hotels for many reasons. They’re easier to access, especially if you have a car or a motorcycle parked outside. Further, they’re more intimate, offering a laid-back experience. We love the home-like feeling we have at motels. Best of all, they’re a great value for money. We don’t pay the same rate we usually pay at luxurious hotels. However, we enjoy most of the amenities and facilities of hotels.

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham
11
Our first option was the La Quinta Inn by Wyndham at the West Bank. We chose this motel because of its location. It’s minutes from downtown, and there is a famous mall nearby where we can buy all our necessities. This motel is humble. At such a price point, we didn’t expect too much. All we needed was an average room close to our points of interest.
The motel offers different rooms, with breakfast included in most rooms. We didn’t like breakfast much, so we decided to find other restaurants nearby for our morning meals. Luckily, there were many options around. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly motel suitable for groups, this one is suitable. Check their official website to learn more about the motel amenities.

Economy Inn New Orleans

Economy Inn New Orleans was true to its name. It’s one of the cheap weekly motels in New Orleans. Travelers with limited budgets will find this motel a perfect place to stay. What do you need from an average accommodation in New Orleans? A convenient room, basic amenities such as a microwave and a refrigerator, a private bathroom, air conditioning, and free parking? All are available at our motel.
What’s more, there were housekeeping and 24-hour front desk services. We also loved the design of our room; it looked different. Further, the room was spacious, and the bathroom was as well. We were very comfortable in a king room for two people, and there was enough space for the luggage. This was more than what we expected at such a price. Want more cheap options in New Orleans? When we search for accommodation options in any city, we usually look for the closest stay to the airport unless we have other needs. The Contempra Inn met different needs as it was the closest to Louis Armstrong Airport. Also, it’s reasonably priced, and best of all, it’s a comfy rest with quality amenities and clean rooms. Why go for luxurious and more expensive stays when you have such an option?
While there were no restaurants inside the motel, we didn’t struggle with everyday meals as the staff helped us find good eateries nearby. We shopped for snacks, drinks, and other stuff from a good market nearby and stored them in the refrigerator in our room. Since we were only interested in a comfy stay, we didn’t mind having a pool or any on-site entertainment option. In the end, motels are all about value for money and a homelike stay.

Best for security. At first, the idea that motel rooms are accessible from the outside made us hesitant to try this type of accommodation because of safety issues. It was not until we stayed at Best Way Inn and Suites that we changed our minds. This is one of the best motels in New Orleans, considering safety measures. They have security all over the place. Plus, we could spot different cameras around. This became a new standard for us when booking any motel from now on.
Apart from this, we were treated amicably. Good treatment and friendly staff aren’t exclusive to luxurious stays. You can meet such professional staff in average places like this motel. They always offered help and replied to our requests no matter when we called them. One day, we had an issue with the toilet flushing late at night. We called them, and the housekeeping person came immediately to solve the problem.
“We’ll definitely stay here again. We love the atmosphere, the quietness, and the friendly people we met there. In addition to good rates, this place is one of our top options in New Orleans.”

The New Orleans Inn is another cheap and comfy option to include in our list. It’s only a few minutes away from Walmart on foot. Although it isn’t the luxurious accommodation some travelers prefer, it met our needs as a cheap motel with basic necessities. It’s worth considering for those looking to save the most. One of its top pros is that it offers weekly rates. If you’re looking for cheap weekly motels in New Orleans, this inn should be at the top of your list.
Inside the motel, we found several vending machines for snacks and drinks. For other food options, there are many restaurants around. We had what we needed back in our room for an enjoyable, comfy stay. The private bathroom was average but clean. The room had a screen, a clothes rack, and freWi-FiFi. Unexpectedly, it was an intermittent-speeWi-FiFi network. Some rooms are larger and have extra beds for groups.

Royal Palms Motel

Although we didn’t like the Royal Palms Motel‘s location that much, we felt safe during our stay there. It’s close to Bourbon Street. The area was very quiet, and shops were close, but we had to walk a few minutes to reach the nearest shop. Despite this, we felt safe and didn’t worry about our motorbike as the venue was gated. In terms of security, this motel is at the top of the list.
On the other hand, we enjoyed different facilities and services during our stay. Our room had a coffee and tea maker. We also had a cook, which helped us save lots of money instead of buying food every day. Plus, they offered laundry services at extra fees, which were affordable. We had a home-like experience there, which we’re willing to repeat.

Royal Inn of New Orleans welcomed us in all possible ways for two weeks. Like most motels in New Orleans, LA, this one offers weekly rates, so it was an economical option for our relatively long trip. The motel is excellent for almost everyone needing a good room with a private bathroom and free parking. There is no breakfast, but we could get some grab-and-go snacks from the vending machines there.
Our room included a bed, TV, chairs, table, drawers, and a clothes rack. The furniture didn’t look modern, but it was good to use. We also enjoyed the freWi-FiFi that covered the whole venue. When it was time to go out, we quickly reached Chef Menteur Highway, and from there, we could go wherever we wanted in New Orleans. For long trips, this motel is highly recommended.

Best rates. Motel 6 in New Orleans, LA, is a very famous motel among frequent travelers. We believe there are many reasons for this, the main one being the cheap rates. Also, its location is excellent, as it lies just minutes from Walmart Supercenter. Another reason for its renowned name among motels is that it’s pet-friendly. If you’re traveling with a furry friend, you should check our list of the top pet-friendly hotels in New Orleans.
Besides all these features, we had a very comfortable stay in our simple room. It didn’t have much furniture, but it was enough for a relaxing stay. The same thing was for the bathroom. We didn’t expect toiletries and towels, just a clean bathroom was enough and this is what we found. Apart from all of these features, the staff helped us a lot to know the transportation means for different locations we wanted to reach here in New Orleans. We felt at home in this motel. They even have a website with reviews of previous guests; don’t forget to check them out.

Nola Inn and Suites

Best services. Nola Inn and Suites is one of our favorite motels in New Orleans, LA. Although it’s a very reasonably priced motel, we didn’t feel like we compensated for our comfort. The motel is top-notch when it comes to services and amenities. Our room had a fridge and a microwave, so preparing daily meals wasn’t an issue. The convenience didn’t stop here. We also had good-quality toiletries that were refilled or changed every day.
Some travelers don’t consider this as a motel. However, the price and design are the same as those of any motel in the city. Though the motel had no pool or other entertainment options, we could explore the neighborhood leisurely. There are many options around, including the Uptown New Orleans Historic District and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Express Inn & Suites Westwego

If we were to describe the Express Inn & Suites Westwego, we would say it’s the cleanest and quietest motel we stayed at. Even though people were all over the place, we heard no noise. We didn’t even hear housekeeping passing by when we put the Don’t Disturb sign. They really respect their guests and do their best to make them feel at ease.
We could spend all day inside our room before deciding to go out. We had a full kitchenette with a stovetop, a microwave, and a refrigerator to cook our food. There was a Cable TV with HBO and Cinemax to pass the time. In addition, the bathroom was always clean, and hot water was always there. We didn’t stay there for long but had a very good impression.

Marina Inn and Suites
1
Best amenities and facilities. Regarding facilities and amenities, we’ll consider Marina Inn and Suites a traditional hotel. However, in terms of design, this is a motel with higher quality services and, by extension, higher rates. Go for this venue if you want something between a hotel and lower-rated motels. Located in St. Bernard Parish, we enjoyed a great location near everything. You can check nearby locations on their official website. We reached the famous French Quarter and the city’s downtown in minutes. Further, the airport wasn’t very far, although there were many other hotels in New Orleans near the airport.
Our room was spotless. It had a coffee maker, a fridge, and a microwave. There was a comfortable working desk and a lounging chair as well. Further, the bathroom included most of the toiletries we find at luxurious hotels. We also had a complimentary breakfast, and on top of all that, we enjoyed a morning sunbathing in the outdoor pool. If you want a more luxurious stay but still don’t want to pay hotel rates, The Marina Inn and Suites is your destination.

We recommend looking at the best cheap hotels in the French Quarter to understand what is there.
The Central Business District is another area we love a lot. As the name suggests, it’s the business area of New Orleans, where you can find tall buildings and business hotels.
