We usually don’t get to stay in extended stay places, but we made an exception with Embassy Suites New Orleans, LA, and we’re glad we did. A top-to-bottom renovation of this upper-middle-range hotel has left it modern, comfortable, and sleek, and our stay here was very comfortable. Despite belonging to the Hilton chain, a few aspects of the atmosphere and interiors of this Embassy Suites outpost were different from your usual cookie-cutter properties. These included everything from the spacious atrium and the delightful plant-filled courtyard to the facade resembling a European-style building with balconies, windows, et al. The vibe extended to the digs, complete with chic furnishings, walls of framed architectural photographs, and a bevy of contemporary mod-cons. Does that excite you to explore the prospect of staying at this hotel? Here’s a detailed guide to staying at the Embassy Suites in NOLA.

Location, Location, Location
One of the first important things we notice about a hotel, any hotel, is the location, and we were impressed by that of this Embassy Suites outpost. The award-winning New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is just three blocks away, making this perfect for travelers who are here for work. Moreover, the Warehouse District and its museums, galleries, and restaurants are a 15-minute walk straight along Julia Street. In fact, even the Central Business District is less than a 5-minute drive, while the French Quarter is less than a 10-minute drive. So, if you’re up for exploring NOLA but want to stay slightly away from the bustle, this Julia Street hotel is also just five minutes from the nearest light rail station.

A Bunch Of Complimentary Perks
It’s hard to find free or complimentary perks in a mid-range extended-stay chain hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised while staying here. Firstly, we’d wake up every morning to a complimentary, made-to-order breakfast – yes! There were not only standard breakfast staples like tea, coffee, juices, different types of bread, and fruits, but there was also an omelet station where we could order our favorite omelet versions, and the chef would happily prepare them. But that’s not the end of it. No matter where we’d be in the city, we’d come back to the hotel in the evening as they had a nightly manager’s reception every evening, complete with free drinks and appetizers! We enjoyed mingling with our fellow guests at happy hour and unwinding at the end of a long day with free drinks. What could be better?
“We were mightily impressed by the fact that the hotel had multiple complimentary perks, and the nightly reception was the cherry on top!”

Excellent Staying Options
We had the choice of as many as 370 guest rooms and suites, all with elegant, up-to-date interiors. While there were standard rooms, the focus here is the different categories of suites, which perfectly serve large groups of extended-stay travelers. Our suite choices ranged from two-room suites to two-bedroom suites and even a Presidential Suite for those who wanted to splurge. Moreover, all these suites had different options and combinations of king, queen, and twin beds, depending on who wanted what combination.
They were also spacious and boasted plush beds, flatscreen TVs, separate seating areas with cushy sofas, and modern bathrooms. The best bit? All suites, irrespective of their category, had microwaves, mini-fridges, hairdryers, and bath products. Finally, those who were looking for connecting rooms could also ask for them when booking.

Value-for-money Amenities
We loved the bright and spotless public spaces at this hotel, but the amenities were the standouts here. For one, the hotel had a full-time restaurant and bar on the property, the Julia Street Bar & Grill, which is very unusual for an extended-stay hotel. So, it was certainly a pleasant surprise to see the restaurant serve breakfast and dinner, which was especially useful when we didn’t feel like eating out.
There’s a lot more at the hotel besides the restaurant, and our favorite was the heated outdoor pool. Even though it was small and intimate, it was a great space to unwind after a humid day of exploring NOLA. Those who want to stay active on their holiday have a well-equipped fitness center at hand. Since it sits close to the convention center and is popular with business travelers, this hotel also has a 24-hour business center. Not only that, but it also has a host of meeting rooms and facilities.

Hilton Honors Deals
Are you a Hilton Honors member? We are, and thus, we ended up getting a lot of deals while staying at this Hilton outpost. Not only was Wi-Fi free for us, but we were also able to earn double Hilton Honors points for every night of our five-day stay. Secondly, since we booked in advance, we saved almost 17% on the hotel’s best available rate as an Honors member. They even had a limited-time offer for earning bonus points, but the real deal was that we got to earn 2X bonus points on our stays, as there was a limited-time offer on that, too.
The best bit? The Honors program is open to everyone, so you can join the program and become a member whenever you
