The Chatwal
11
Our first recommendation is The Chatwal. The hotel’s location is unbeatable – just two blocks from Times Square and Bryant Park, and within walking distance of Broadway theaters. It’s housed in a stunning landmark building with a swanky interior decor that oozes sophistication. Meanwhile, our room was a masterpiece of modern design, featuring Italian linens, plush furnishings, and all the amenities we could ask for, including a TV, Blu-ray player, and free Wi-Fi.
What’s more, the butler service was top-notch, ensuring that our every need was met. The hotel’s dining options were equally impressive. We indulged in a memorable meal at the storied, ultra-chic restaurant, where the food and ambiance were exceptional. If relaxation is more your thing, the renowned spa is a must-visit. Lastly, we also enjoyed a dip in the indoor saltwater pool and took advantage of the 24-hour fitness center.
Speaking of which, here are the best hotels with an indoor pool in New York City!

The Beekman is a luxurious and stylish accommodation with a stunning 9-story atrium featuring a glass ceiling and balconies. The hotel’s interior is beautifully decorated with artwork, creating a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay a lot as there were many dining options to choose from, including upscale restaurants by renowned chefs like Tom Colicchio and Daniel Boulud.
For our stay, we booked the Deluxe Corner Suite and it was enchanting. We loved the plush and vintage ambiance, and the suite came with unique artwork, oak floors, and modern amenities. The luxurious bathroom featured a rainfall shower and designer toiletries. For guests who need to stay active, the hotel has a bi-level fitness center. Overall, the Beekman Hotel provides a pampering and unforgettable experience.

Gild Hall, A Thompson Hotel

Best Restaurant. Our time at the Gild Hall, A Thompson Hotel was great. The hotel’s boutique vibe and convenient location in Lower Manhattan made exploring so easy. We were particularly impressed by the value for money, especially compared to other Hyatts in the area. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine, a thoughtful and refreshing touch. Our room, while average in size for NYC, was comfortable and well-appointed. We also loved the chic, dark aesthetics. For families, we recommend considering the standard suite, which offers significantly more space.
For breakfast, we enjoyed dining at Felice, the hotel’s Italian restaurant. Felice is also a great spot for dinner or a drink, and it’s a popular destination for both hotel guests and locals. While there’s no room service, the convenience of being able to grab food from Felice or order delivery services like Doordash more than made up for it. The hotel offers two small gyms, which are perfect for a quick workout. If you prefer outdoor exercise, the East River is just a short walk away.

Located just a minute’s walk from the 28th Street subway stop, Park South Hotel is conveniently situated for exploring the city. We found it easy to get around and visit popular attractions like the Empire State Building and the Museum of Modern Art.
We stayed in the King Room, which was beautifully appointed with an art deco flair, featuring free Wi-Fi, a smart TV, and stylish chandeliers. The black-and-white photographs of NYC’s cityscape made the whole space super charming. One of the highlights of our stay was the rooftop bar, which offered stunning views of the city skyline. It was the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of cocktail. The hotel also has a refined restaurant and a 24/7 gym, catering to the needs of both leisure and business travelers.

Hyatt Grand Central New York

Best Pet-Friendly. Fun fact: did you know that the Hyatt Grand Central New York is the only hotel in the Big Apple connected to the Grand Central Station? Thanks to the convenient location, we never had any problem exploring the city. But this hotel is so much more than an amazing location, as it’s pet-friendly too. We brought our dog along and were pleasantly surprised by the amenities the hotel offered, including pet bowls, beds, and treats. It was easy to take our dog for walks in nearby Bryant Park.
During our stay, we stayed in one of the suites. We particularly enjoyed the Hyatt Grand Bed, which was incredibly cozy. The separate living room and dining area provided plenty of space to relax, and the city views were breathtaking. If you’re looking to stay active during your trip, the StayFit fitness center is a great option. Located on the penthouse level, the gym is open 24/7 and features state-of-the-art equipment.

Grayson Hotel

Best Value for Money. We’ve stayed at the Grayson Hotel several times over the years, and it’s consistently been a great choice for us. If you’re looking for the best Hyatt in New York City without breaking the bank, the Grayson is worth considering. Located on West 39th Street, right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, it offers a fantastic location. Staying here, we were just a short walk from Times Square, Bryant Park, and the Empire State Building.
While the rooms are not the largest we’ve ever seen, they’re well-appointed with amenities like Wi-Fi, TVs, safes, and coffeemakers. Some rooms even offer stunning views of the Empire State Building. One of our favorite things about the Grayson is the Mediterranean restaurant with its outdoor terrace. It’s a great place to enjoy a meal. Speaking of which, the hotel also has a top-floor bar, a fitness center, and a meeting space.
“Considering its price and amenities, we think Grayson is the best option for those who don’t want to spend a lot.”

Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York

After staying at the Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York, we can confidently say it’s one of the best choices for a luxury stay in the Big Apple. After a recent refurbishment, the hotel boasts a modern, boutique ambiance that sets it apart from the city’s larger, impersonal chains. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the Financial District, with the 9/11 Memorial just a short walk away. The spacious rooms, starting at 345 sq ft, are a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved the huge windows in our suite that let in plenty of natural light and offered us stunning views.
One of the standout features of our stay was the complimentary amenities. The mini bar, tea, coffee, muffins, chocolate chip cookies, and even wine during happy hour were fantastic. This made it unnecessary to seek out a club lounge, which is a rarity in New York. The Andaz Kitchen & Bar, located upstairs from the main lobby, offered delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast there before exploring the city. Want a quick workout? The fitness center on the concourse level is well-equipped and can provide you with a convenient way to stay active.

Best Luxury. Our stay at the Park Hyatt New York was an unforgettable one. As the global flagship of the Park Hyatt brand, this hotel delivers on every level, offering unparalleled luxury and impeccable service. From the moment we stepped into our spacious and beautifully appointed suite, we were captivated by the attention to detail. The interior design, inspired by the Upper East Side’s finest residences, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The separate spaces for sleeping, dressing, resting, and working made our stay incredibly comfortable. The highlight? Our spacious private terrace!
Another highlight of our stay was the stunning rooftop pool. The sun-drenched terrace, wrapped in blue and gold stone, provided a serene oasis in the heart of the city. The underwater speakers playing Carnegie Hall music were a nice addition. We also indulged in a luxurious treatment at Spa Nalai. The tranquil setting and skilled therapists made for a truly rejuvenating experience. The Living Room, the hotel’s restaurant, was another gem. With its elegant ambiance and delicious cuisine, it was the perfect place to savor a delicious meal while overlooking the iconic Carnegie Hall. It’s everything you’d expect from one of the most expensive hotels in New York City.

Andaz 5th Avenue

Best Overall. Among all of the Hyatt hotels in New York City, Andaz 5th Avenue has a special place in our hearts. One of the things we loved most about the Andaz was its prime location. Nestled in a historic building on 5th Avenue, steps away from iconic landmarks like Bryant Park and the Empire State Building, the hotel provided easy access to all NYC offers. The subway is also conveniently located nearby, making it a breeze to explore the city’s diverse neighborhoods.
The Andaz’s interiors are stylish and modern, with a minimalist aesthetic that creates a serene atmosphere. Our room was the spacious Wellness Suite, featuring high ceilings and ample natural light. The MVP, though, was the luxurious bathtub and Aoptheke amenities. We also appreciated the complimentary happy hour and coffee service. While the Andaz doesn’t have a traditional club lounge, the lobby lounge offers a comfortable space to enjoy complimentary coffee and tea. The hotel also features a well-equipped gym for guests who want to stay active during their stay.
