Cheyenne Mountain magic
It’s no secret that one of Cheyenne Mountain Resort‘s biggest selling points is its location. Nestled at the base of the majestic Cheyenne Mountain, we were surrounded by the peaks of the Rocky Mountain Front Range. The resort’s 200 acres offered us a serene escape while still being conveniently located.
A short drive took us to the excitement of downtown Colorado Springs, and we were thrilled to be just 10 miles from the airport, making arrival and departure a breeze. Plus, Denver is only about a 1.5-hour drive away for those looking to explore the state’s capital city. It’s the perfect balance of tranquility and accessibility.
“We kid you not – the views here are gorgeous. Make sure to always have your camera ready.”

430 sq ft of comfort
For our stay at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, we ended up choosing the Deluxe Double Queen Room, which was perfectly sized for our group. The 430 sq ft of space felt big enough to unwind. That said, we loved the mountain-inspired decor with its nature-themed photos – it gave us a feel for the local area. Our beds were super comfy, but if you’re traveling with a little one, you might want to request one of the hotel’s complimentary pack ‘n plays.
One of our favorite features was the private balcony overlooking the golf course. It was the perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee. And the mini-fridge was another great addition for keeping our snacks and drinks cold. Our bathroom was basic but functional. We had Alluvia Spa bath products and cozy terrycloth robes.
If you need more space, you can choose the Premier Rooms like the One-Bedroom Junior Suite or the Presidential Suite. The former can accommodate five people and has two balconies, while the latter is a luxurious 1,130 sq ft. The Cheyenne Resort in Colorado Springs has everything for everyone.

A playground for all
What we think is the biggest highlight of the Cheyenne Mountain Resort is its amenities. First, let’s talk golf. Designed by the legendary Pete Dye and nestled against the stunning backdrop of Cheyenne Mountain, it’s a golfer’s paradise. We can honestly say the views might just distract you from your game.
Now, let’s dive in – literally! With five pools on-site, there’s something for everyone. The indoor pool is perfect for those chilly Colorado days, especially for the little ones. And when the sun is shining, expect the outdoor pools and the Kidz Splash Pad to turn into a sea of people. What we loved the most, though, was the adult-only pool. Nothing could beat having the pool to ourselves.
One of the biggest surprises for us was the private beach. Who knew Colorado had beaches? The 35-acre lake is a hidden gem, offering water sports, relaxation, and breathtaking scenery. Also, tennis enthusiasts will be in heaven with seven indoor/outdoor courts.
There’s more! Cheyenne Resort Co Springs also boasts a majestic fitness center. Most hotels have an on-site gym, but not all of them are built the same. With state-of-the-art equipment, a variety of classes, and even a childcare area, it was easy for us to stay active and fit while on vacation.

Alluvia Spa
The best post-workout treat we found at Cheyenne Mountain Resort was indulging in some serious relaxation at the Alluvia Spa and Wellness Retreat. The spa menu was a tempting array of treatments, from classic massages to exotic body wraps. We were particularly impressed by the options tailored specifically for teens – a thoughtful touch!
As self-proclaimed spa aficionados, we couldn’t resist booking one of their signature massages. The “Rest and Relax Custom Massage” was so good. The combination of Swedish and deep-tissue techniques melted away all tension. We also loved being able to customize our experience by choosing our preferred pressure points and aromatherapy oils.
Moreover, the ambiance of the spa was equally impressive, too. Soft New Age music, the subtle scent of eucalyptus, and the gentle touch of our therapist created a truly heavenly experience. It was 80 minutes of unadulterated relaxation.

A culinary exploration
We were delighted with the dining options at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. The Mountain View Restaurant was our go-to spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The all-you-can-eat buffets were a culinary adventure we couldn’t resist. Best of all, your little kid can eat for free here! From fluffy omelets made to order to crispy bacon that simply melted in your mouth, the breakfast spread was everything we could have hoped for. We loved starting our days with such a delicious and satisfying meal.
We also indulged in the Sunday Champagne brunch, which was pure decadence. The shrimp, oysters, and smoked salmon were fresh and flavorful, and the mimosas were the perfect complement. Dinner at Mountain View was equally impressive, with the prime rib carving station and make-your-own sundae bar being major highlights.
For a more casual bite or a refreshing drink, Gates Grill and Elevations were our spots. Gates Grill offered a lovely setting overlooking the golf course, while Elevations, with its cozy atmosphere and big-screen TVs, was perfect for unwinding. We especially enjoyed Elevations’ commitment to showcasing local flavors. It was a true taste of the region.
