Based on how they look, we didn’t expect these boots to fit every calf size, but they did. They stretched enough even for wide calves to fit comfortably, rather than feeling uncomfortably snug. There were a few surprising details about these boots that left us impressed, like the padded insoles, the stable heels, and the skid-resistant but flexible outsoles. So, we were even able to use these shoes to transition from fall to winter.

The leather-like upper, combined with the inner elastic gore and full inside zipper, ensured complete comfort even after walking for a long time. Yep. Whether they’re strolling the streets of NYC or even on the red carpet, they’ve been spotted wearing MJs. So, if you already don’t have these shoes in your collection, maybe it’s time. We fell in love with the Time and Tru Women’s Faux Leather Mary Jane Flats, which cost us just USD 15. What’s more, it was available in as many as five colors, including the black you see below, as well as silver, red, gold, and even snake.

Hence, they were comfortable just like we were wearing sneakers, as they were designed in a more laid-back manner for everyday wear.

Since the boots were also slip-resistant, they also worked very well as fall-to-winter shoes. Besides the chunky sole, it was the stretchy and soft knit panel at the top of the ankle that set these boots apart. It not only added some texture to a shoe collection, but also made the boots look very chic, comfy, and cool. The best bit? We could wear these boots with everything from dresses to trousers and shirts.

Best for work. We went work chic with the Time and Tru Women’s Penny Loafers, and they were one of the best additions to our fall wardrobe this year. Metallic loafers became popular last year, with the trend showing no signs of slowing down. Our favorite “Queen” Dame Helen Mirren wore shiny loafers to Wimbledon in 2024. We’ve been obsessed with this Time and Tru version ever since, especially since we got them for just USD 23!

Since we wanted them for work, we went in for the more staid brown version, which was classy and elegant nevertheless. Uggs have people divided over their design and look, but we are lifelong fans. The UGG Women’s Classic Short II Boots are especially gorgeous, but what brought them to our attention was that some reviewers claimed that wearing them was like wearing slippers! We were genuinely curious — how could boots feel like slippers? Well, we found out by wearing these shoes, and it’s indeed true. We loved the softness of the sheepskin, which was so smooth and slick that we fell immediately in love. Moreover, the 8-inch shaft was perfect for daily wear, while the outsole was designed for support and comfort, thus preventing our feet from getting tired.

Additionally, the outsole boasted a great grip, making it ideal for where we live in colder months, with the ground getting slippery.
