Though geographically small, San Francisco is one mighty city. With so many visitors each year, it only makes sense for it to have a plethora of different hotels catering to all types of travelers. However, we think there’s one that’s not talked about enough, despite its charm. We’re talking about the Triton Hotel in San Francisco. We have high standards, and this hotel managed to check all of our boxes. Central location, stylish rooms, modern amenities, unreal dining options – the hotel has it all. While it might lack the fanciness you usually find in big chain hotels, it sure has its own charm that can’t be duplicated. We honestly don’t mind staying here again for our next San Francisco trip. Read our review below and see why we love it so much!

Where multiple neighborhoods converge
As one of the city’s leading boutique hotels, Hotel Triton has so much to offer to travelers. But one of the things that made our stay so great was its location. It was like being right in the center of San Francisco’s vibrant energy. With Union Square, the Financial District, and Chinatown all converging at a single intersection, we were never short of things to do or places to explore. Because of the hotel’s proximity to Chinatown’s iconic Dragon Gate, we could easily dive into the bustling markets and savor authentic Chinese cuisine as much as we wanted to.
On top of that, we loved hopping on a cable car and Scoot. Exploring the city never felt more exciting! If you’re looking for a charming hotel that puts you right in the middle of the action, Hotel Triton is definitely the place to be. Whether you’re a business traveler or a leisure seeker, you won’t be disappointed.

A quirky art haven
When we first arrived at Hotel Triton, we were immediately shocked by its unique blend of art and hospitality. The hotel offered us a truly immersive experience, with its Mezzanine Gallery and Living Room showcasing a carefully curated collection of global and local artworks.
One particular piece that caught our eye was by Persian artist John Oshann. Its intricate details and vibrant colors left a lasting impression. The hotel’s commitment to supporting emerging local artists is evident in its public exhibitions. If a piece strikes your fancy, it’s possible to purchase it through McKinley Art Solutions.
Beyond the art, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to assist throughout our stay. Their passion for creating an extraordinary environment was the best.

350 sq ft of comfort
All of the 140 guest rooms at Hotel Triton are as lovely as the hotel and its San Francisco surroundings. Even we, avid travelers, had a hard time deciding which room to book. In the end, our choice went to the 350 sq ft Executive King Room. It had everything we were looking for: style, comfort, and (plenty of) natural light.
The room’s design was inspired by the Grant Avenue Corridor, and it felt like we were staying in a friend’s cozy room. The king-sized bed allowed us to have a good night’s sleep, and the Frette bed linens were so luxurious. Of course, you can also expect other standard amenities like a flat-screen TV and high-speed Wi-Fi. But one thing we didn’t expect was the welcome champagne!
Now, let’s talk about the bathroom! The Carrara marble bathroom and shower were both spacious and inviting. We’re not the types that take a long time to shower, but during our trip, we surely took longer than we normally did.

A hotel for all
Hotel Triton sure knows how to stand out. Though it’s not a massive, super luxurious hotel, it still makes sure everything is ticked. Want to work out? It has a 24-hour fitness center. When we checked it out, we were surprised by its state-of-the-art machines like the Peloton, treadmill, elliptical, stationary bikes, and free weights.
For those who need to focus or collaborate, The Study is a fantastic space. As the name suggests, this is a private work area offering a comfortable and quiet environment. We were particularly awed by its beautiful outdoor patio. It’s the perfect place to get some work done or host a small meeting.
One thing that truly sets Triton Hotel San Francisco California apart is its pet-friendly policy. As dog owners, we were thrilled to learn there are no weight or breed restrictions and no pet deposit required. The hotel even provides dog bowls and bags, making it easy to keep your furry friend happy and clean.
“Stylish, well-equipped, and pet-friendly, this hotel deserves all the praises.”

Unreal dining experience
Everyone knows San Francisco is a paradise for food lovers. Lucky for you, Hotel Triton is home to two of the city’s most fantastic eateries. The first one is Café de la Presse. Stepping into this 1930s-style bistro, we felt like being transported to Paris. The ambiance was charming, and the menu was filled with classic French dishes. We couldn’t resist trying the steak frites and Confit de Canard, both of which were absolutely delicious. Paired with a glass of wine, it was the perfect dining experience.
If you’re a seafood lover, Scott’s Chowder House is a must-visit. The chowders and lobster rolls were incredibly fresh and flavorful. We especially loved the casual atmosphere and the option to dine in or take out. It was our favorite spot for a quick and satisfying meal.
Who can say no to a sweet treat? Whenever we craved something sweet, we would stop by Amorino Gelato Al Naturale. The gourmet gelatos and sorbets were absolutely divine. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. Diet? What’s that?
