New Jersey is a unique state in the US that keeps us returning no matter how often we visit. When planning our trips to New Jersey, we devote most of our budget to adventures and sightseeing. We aren’t the kind of travelers who spend the whole budget on food. Thus, we were looking for hotels with kitchens in New Jersey to cook our food and spare the money for leisure. Luckily, we found many hotels that offer a kitchen or a kitchenette at different rates. We stayed in most of these hotels during the last couple of trips and here we offer you a comprehensive review of the best.
Wait a minute! It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try the food scene there. We did try different restaurants and coffee shops. Yet, since we go there frequently and stay for weeks, you need to prepare at least 70% of our food and drinks inside the hotel. That’s why we were looking for hotels with kitchens. This review is a must-read if you have the same ideas. The perfect vacation is waiting for you in New Jersey, so, don’t miss it!

TKC Homes
11
Our first accommodation option is the TKC Homes guest house. This venue was one of the most welcoming places we stayed at in New Jersey. We felt at home during our stay there. The house includes several rooms and each has its full kitchen. Our room had a kitchen with a fridge, a stovetop, a microwave, and a kettle. We also found all the kitchenware we needed to prepare any meal from scratch. Moreover, we had a private bathroom with free toiletries.
The place isn’t expensive compared to other hotels in New Jersey. You can also save more money by booking a room there with a shared bathroom. Ours was a family room with a private bathroom and kitchen. We wanted this privacy, so, we only shared a lounge area with other guests. This venue is recommended for limited-budget travelers. It has a good location in Irvington, near the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Hampton Inn Denville

Hampton Inn Denville is another suitable option for those looking for affordable hotels with kitchenettes in New Jersey. This hotel is located in Denville. It’s minutes from the city center where we could enjoy shopping for our basic daily needs. Our room had a full kitchenette with a fridge and a microwave. We also had a coffee maker that we used all day aside from our morning caffeine dose. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast. It was surprisingly delicious, so, we never skipped it.
Further, we enjoyed several hotel facilities such as the indoor swimming pool and the fitness center. The hotel has free parking for its guests if you have your car. New Jersey was full of things to do day and night but sometimes all we needed was to relax for some moments before resuming our adventures in the city. The shared lounge around the fireplace was perfect for a hot cup of coffee or tea and enjoying those chill-out moments.

Crusader Oceanfront Resort

Crusader Oceanfront Resort is located in a different area, away from the hustle and bustle of busy cities in New Jersey. It’s a beachfront hotel in Wildwood Crest. We found this area one of the best as it wasn’t too quiet but not too busy as Newark for example. The hotel is near the famous Broadwalk, so, we were still a few minutes from this vivid atmosphere.
When booking, ask about the facilities and amenities in the room as there are different room types. Otherwise, you can check the room types here on the official website. Ours had a full kitchen but the hotel has rooms with a kitchenette including a fridge and a microwave only.
After a long day roaming in New Jersey and walking by the shore, we were up to some relaxation and there was no better place than the sauna in the hotel. It was very thoughtful of them to include it in the package. And if you aren’t into the beach, there is an outdoor pool with a sun terrace to soak in the sun all morning.

Sonesta Simply Suites
8
Sonesta Simply Suites Hotel is an all-suites hotel that includes only suites, and no standard rooms. This means all the rooms there have full kitchens, so, it met our criteria and we decided to spend a few nights there. The rooms are spacious as well as the kitchen. It included a fridge, a microwave, and kitchenware. You can choose your view whether it’s a partial harbor view or a NYC view. Look at the hotel from the inside through this virtual tour on the website.
Further, the location was one of the best in New Jersey. It’s a five-minute walk from the nearest PATH and you can see the Manhattan skyline from the hotel. Being that close to the city center, we could shop for all our essentials from the common malls and shops there. When we needed an urgent thing, we got it from the convenience store inside the hotel. It was a great value-for-money accommodation with all the essentials inside the room.

Hampton Inn and Suites Robbinsville

Although the Hampton Inn and Suites Robbinsville was very close to local eateries and restaurants, we didn’t need any as we booked a studio with a kitchenette. When booking, choose a studio, not a standard room, as studios only have kitchenettes. Speaking of which, it was small but enough to prepare quick meals. It had a small fridge, a microwave, and a sink. We had breakfast in the hotel. It was delicious and high quality, so, we were full till the afternoon.
Among the things offered, we found an on-site free parking. We didn’t use it but we think it’s worth mentioning. Overall, our experience was great. The people working there were very helpful. They eased everything including the check-in and check-out processes. The housekeeping maintained a spotless studio throughout our vacation. We couldn’t be more satisfied.
“We believe this hotel is underrated! We had a full studio with complimentary breakfast, access to the fitness center, indoor pool, and on-site parking at a great rate.”

Embassy Suites By Hilton Berkeley Heights

Best breakfast. Embassy Suites By Hilton Berkeley Heights has many facilities to make it one of the best hotels with kitchens in New Jersey. All rooms have either a kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen. Ours had a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher, and kitchen utensils. We also had a tea and coffee maker, thus, we never needed to buy any food or drinks from outside. Moreover, we had mouth-watering breakfast every morning in the hotel’s restaurant. It was beyond our expectations.
The hotel is large but it didn’t feel crowded. It had a fitness center and a large indoor pool for entertainment. Wi-Fi was available everywhere in the hotel. Whenever we needed to go outside, we had to call an Uber or a taxi because there was no public transportation nearby. It was kinda costly but we already cut the biggest portion of the budget dedicated to eating in fancy restaurants. We didn’t need to since we could prepare everything in our studio suite.

Yankee Clipper Resort Motel

One of the reasons why we chose the Yankee Clipper Resort Motel was the good location. It’s very close to Wildwood Crest Beach. Actually, we could see the beach from our room and walk to it every day. The motel offers different room types. To get a full kitchenette, choose a studio room. We had a refrigerator, a stovetop, a microwave, and a sink in our room. The bedding was good and the sofa was comfortable.
The motel isn’t pricey, thus, we didn’t expect fancy facilities. There was a swimming pool, a sun terrace, and free WiFi. Moreover, we liked the mini golf area as we seldom find any at New Jersey hotels. They also offered us barbeque facilities as we wanted to cook our food outdoors and have some fun. There was no fitness or wellness center but it was justified considering the price point. We have a list of the best spa hotels in New Jersey if this is a top priority.

Sonesta ES Suites Princeton

Best for a long stay. We were surprised at how our room was comfortable at Sonesta ES Suites Princeton. This hotel is worth more than what we paid. We were looking for a budget-friendly option for a long stay. We were ready to settle up with some facilities but not for the kitchen. What happened was that we didn’t compensate for anything at all because we stayed there!
The suites had spacious rooms and full kitchenettes, they even included a dishwasher and cooking utensils. There was a simple outdoor pool for an end-of-the-day dip. Plus, the fitness center was open 24 hours. We had breakfast on-site and it was good. There were enough varieties to try something new every couple of days. They also offered a free shuttle service to the airport. We recommend this venue for those looking for the best facilities at the best price.

Parsippany Suites Hotel

Another value-for-money option in New Jersey, it’s the Parsippany Suites Hotel. Many features made us recommend this hotel. The most important thing is the facilities we got at the reasonable price we paid. Our suite had a full kitchen where we could prepare all our meals except breakfast. We had a complimentary breakfast at the hotel and it was good to go with. It included some light snacks in addition to eggs and coffee or tea.
Moreover, we could park our car in the free parking in front of the hotel. We usually struggle to find a parking slot in this city, so, it was a big plus. Apart from that, the rooms were kept clean all the time. The toiletries and towels were changed every day and all the amenities were working well. There are a couple of room options to choose from. All of them have a kitchen. You can choose to have a bathtub in your room. By the way, we have a full review of the best romantic hotels with hot tubs in New Jersey.

Residence Inn by Marriott Weehawken

Most luxurious. Our stay in the Residence Inn by Marriott Weehawken was beyond perfect as we had everything we could ask for in this hotel. It’s one of the most luxurious hotels there. Thus, it’s pricier than the other options mentioned above but it was worth every penny. The hotel offers a plethora of facilities to put its guests at ease during their stay. Our favorite was the free shuttle to Times Square. If you didn’t notice, this hotel is in Weehawken, it’s very close to Manhattan.
Furthermore, the kitchen was fully equipped. If we were to plan our home’s kitchen, it wouldn’t have been better than our kitchen in this hotel. It had all the equipment we needed and clean cooking utensils. It was wide and our group of four people could stand in the kitchen and help each other prepare meals. The rooms were similarly wide and clean. Best of all, there was a supermarket nearby where we could shop for all our needs.

Hilton Garden Inn Camden
1
Best overall. The Hilton Garden Inn Camden was our best accommodation in New Jersey considering many points. First of all, you need to book a room with a kitchenette to ensure that you have the needed equipment in the room. We didn’t have a stovetop but the microwave was suitable for cooking food. It was a high-quality microwave, so, we used it daily to cook and heat our meals. Moreover, we had a nice coffee machine that made aromatic coffee. We used it on several days but other times we had free coffee at the on-site restaurant.
Speaking of it, the restaurant had a spectacular view of the river and the Franklin Bridge. Some rooms have a river view but ours didn’t. We could walk to the river or use public transportation to reach several destinations in New Jersey. There was parking in the hotel but it wasn’t free. Luckily, we didn’t have a car on that trip, so, we didn’t need the parking. The service there was excellent. The staff were professional and capable of handling all our requests. If you’re looking for hotel rooms with kitchen in New Jersey, check their official website to see different rooms and suites.
