We highly recommend Unit A104 at Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina! The condo was spotless, stocked with an abundance of towels, pillows, and every kitchen utensil we could need. The massive bed was super comfortable, and the pull-out couch worked perfectly for our kid.
The location is also unbeatable. We were steps from the sand, so we could just slide open the doors and walk right onto the beach every morning. While it isn’t a traditional all-inclusive, having the coffee shop, boutique, and restaurants right there made everything so easy. We also loved how close we were to Red Hook and the ferry for quick trips.
To be honest with you, we barely used the pool because the beach was so stunning. We also got extras like foldable chairs and snorkel gear, which we used to see fish and stingrays right offshore. The water was crystal clear! It was the perfect blend of relaxation and convenience, and we’re already missing those morning views.

Best for Long Stays. Secret Harbour Beach Resort, a snorkeling resort in the Caribbean, is a great choice for anyone who prefers an apartment over a standard hotel room. Having a full kitchen was a major plus for us. We actually had groceries delivered so we could handle breakfast and snacks ourselves without any hassle! When we didn’t feel like cooking, we just headed over to the Sunset Grille on-site for dinner. The food was great, and the views of the water were even better.
The location on Nazareth Bay is the real draw here because it’s tucked away from the main tourist crowds. It was much quieter and more private than other spots we’ve visited on St Thomas. We spent a lot of our time just hanging out in the beach chairs or hitting the pool, but they also have a gym and water sports right there if you’re the type who can’t sit still.
Even though it feels secluded, we weren’t stuck in the middle of nowhere. Red Hook is just a short drive away, which was perfect for the nights we wanted to find a busy bar, grab a different meal, or catch a ferry for an excursion. It honestly felt like a hidden gem. We had a blast at Elysian Beach Resort. The pool was great, but we spent most of our time at the beach since it’s in a protected bay. The water was super calm and shallow, so it was perfect for just hanging out. We never had to fight for a chair, and there was a good mix of sun and shade, so we didn’t roast. It’s not a classic all-inclusive, but the resort offers packages that bundle in meals and water sports, which made things easy for us.
Checking in and out was a breeze, and since we had a rental car, the plentiful parking was a huge relief. For food, there are two restaurants on-site. We grabbed pizza one night, but for some relaxation, we preferred the drinks at the pool bar. The staff was helpful across the board, too.

Overlooking Lindbergh Bay, Emerald Beach Resort is another great choice thanks to its white sand and bright turquoise water. It’s the perfect middle ground for a trip. We spent our mornings lounging by the ocean and were still only a few minutes away from exploring downtown Charlotte Amalie whenever we wanted a change of pace.
One major perk is that you don’t have to stress about your room location, as every single one comes with a balcony facing the sea. We spent plenty of time out there, but the ocean-front pool with its signature waterfall was also a huge draw. When we felt like being active, we just grabbed the complimentary kayaks and headed out onto the bay, which was easily one of the best ways to soak in the scenery.
While it’s not 100% all-inclusive, we grabbed an online deal that gave us daily food and drink credits, which definitely helped. We enjoyed the Caribbean fusion at the on-site restaurant and hit the beach bar for casual drinks, but it was also great being close enough to Charlotte Amalie to head downtown for dinner.

Bigger doesn’t always mean better. In this case, Buoy Haus‘s smaller scale worked perfectly for us. With only 94 rooms, it’s much more relaxed and manageable than the massive resorts nearby. Our room had a clean, modern Caribbean design and sat right on a great stretch of beach. A huge plus for us was the pet-friendly policy, which isn’t always easy to find at higher-end spots in the USVI.
Most of our downtime was spent at the infinity pool, which has a solid swim-up bar and plenty of cabanas if you want some shade. The food was surprisingly good, especially the local seafood at Isla Blue. We loved alternating between the nicer sit-down dinners there and the more casual beach grill when we didn’t feel like dressing up.
Best of all, by staying at this property, you can play at two places thanks to the Westin Frenchman’s Reef next door (we’ll get to that later). We had full access to their bigger gym, paddleboards, and snorkeling trips, so we never ran out of things to do. It’s a great setup if you want a quiet home base but still want the perks and activities of a much larger property.

Best Club Level Experience. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton St Thomas right after it had its multi-million dollar renovation. We truly couldn’t have chosen a better time! It was fresh and modern while staying true to its Great Bay location. We spent a lot of time at the new family pool, which now features a waterslide, a huge perk if you’re traveling with kids. A major highlight for us was the resort’s private catamaran. Being able to hop on a boat for a sunset sail or a snorkel trip directly from the hotel dock was fun.
Dining was easy for us because we didn’t want to feel limited to one menu. With four different restaurants on-site, we had enough variety to avoid eating the same meal twice. This isn’t a true all-inclusive resort, but we found that booking a rate with daily breakfast included was the smartest way to handle mornings. If you’re looking for a bit more value throughout the day, we’d suggest upgrading to a Club Level room. Having access to the private lounge for complimentary snacks and drinks really rounds out the experience.

Looking for a reliable base in St Thomas? After wrapping up a three-night stint at the Margaritaville Vacation Club, we can confidently say it’s a great spot if you’re looking to trade a rigid itinerary for water sports. We spent most of our time snorkeling right off the beach. The water was incredibly clear, and we spent the rest of our trip debating whether to book a fishing boat or a diving excursion. On this part of the island, you really can’t go wrong with either.
When it comes to dining, the resort keeps it straightforward with the main Margaritaville restaurant. It serves the kind of reliable island fare you’d expect from the brand, which hit the spot after being in the sun all day. We also spent a fair amount of time at the 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar. The frozen drinks there are excellent.
For our stay, we opted for a suite instead of a standard studio, and the extra square footage was worth it. The layout included a functional kitchenette and a private balcony where we spent most of our mornings. The standout feature in the room, though, has to be the Frozen Concoction Maker. It was surprisingly easy to use, so we just mixed our own drinks and headed out to the patio to hang out.

Since it’s a Marriott property, we were able to book our stay using Bonvoy points, which is a huge advantage for a resort this high-end. It’s super convenient, too. It’s only about five miles from the STT airport, so we were off the plane and overlooking the ocean in no time.
During our stay, we spent a good chunk of our time between the Heavenly Spa and the various on-site bars. Luna Mar was our go-to for a satisfying Mediterranean dinner with a view of the Caribbean, but for a quick margarita and a view of the water, Edge Bar was the better move. The resort also has a coffeehouse on-site, which we appreciated for those slow mornings.
Meanwhile, our room was bright, clean, and didn’t feel cramped. The Westin has a massive range of options, from high-end Presidential Suites to more standard Terrace and Deluxe Rooms if you’re trying to keep the budget in check. Best Resort Activities. Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is a bit of an institution in the US Virgin Islands, mostly because it really kick-started the whole all-inclusive scene on St. Thomas. In fact, it’s one of the few true all-inclusives on the island. We found the vibe here much more relaxed than the massive mega-resorts you see elsewhere. One of the highlights for us was their own catamaran; we used it for a day trip over to St. John.
Our daily routine was pretty simple. We spent most of our time on the 1,000-foot stretch of beach. Since the resort includes gear like paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkels in the rate, we didn’t have to worry about extra rental fees or planning. Back then, the water in the bay was calm enough for easy exploring, and when we got hungry, we just headed over to the Oasis Restaurant & Pool Bar.
When picking a room, it really comes down to how much you want to pay for the view. We liked the Beachfront rooms because they’re literally right on the sand, but the Ocean View rooms on the higher floors are better if you want a private balcony with a wider perspective.
