Ideal for Exploration
Our stay at the Kaanapali Villas was nothing short of a tropical paradise. Resting on 11-acre gardens next to Kaanapali Beach, this resort is near many popular attractions. During our stay, we spent one morning hiking the nearby Kapalua trails, and we also managed to book a whale-watching tour right from the beach. We also explored Black Rock and discovered a vibrant underwater world teeming with unique marine life.
What truly set this location apart was its ability to offer both adventure and serenity. We could spend a morning exploring rugged trails and an afternoon simply lounging beneath swaying coconut palms, listening to the rhythmic music of the pristine Pacific Ocean. Stress seemed to dissolve the moment we arrived, replaced by a sense of pure relaxation and wonder.
We also loved how the resort’s staff embodied the true “aloha spirit”. Their warm, knowledgeable guidance made us feel less like tourists and more like welcomed guests experiencing the heart of the Valley Isle. Their local insights transformed our stay from a simple vacation to an authentic Hawaiian experience.

Suites and Studios with Views
Kaanapali Villas offers plenty of accommodation options, but we decided to go with the Studio Garden View Premium. One of the more luxurious options, we were in awe of the studio’s upscale decor and the relaxing views of the lush tropical gardens. This spacious 660 sq ft studio offered a comfort that exceeded our expectations.
One of the highlights was the modern kitchen, which was fully equipped with top-of-the-line appliances and granite countertops. This made it easy for us to prepare simple meals and snacks, especially in the middle of the night when we were craving something but too lazy to go out. The bathroom was also beautifully redesigned, adding to the overall luxurious feel. We appreciated the attention to detail with upgraded furniture, bedding, flooring, décor, and lighting. These touches truly elevated our stay.
While all units offer kitchens, the Premium Suites, like ours, offer an extra level of comfort and views of either the ocean or the garden. We highly recommend upgrading to a Premium Suite for an even more indulgent experience.

5-star Amenities
We absolutely loved the amenities at Kaanapali Villas. Everything we desired was right there at our fingertips. The resort’s swimming pools were a true highlight. We loved alternating between the oceanfront pool and the Coconut Pool. The oceanfront pool, with its jet spa, children’s wading pool, and intricate water features, provided endless entertainment. Meanwhile, the Coconut Pool nestled in tropical gardens, offered a more serene swimming experience.
Staying fit was no challenge here. The 24-hour fitness center was incredibly well-equipped, with a comprehensive range of cardio machines and weights. For the ultimate relaxation, we indulged in a treatment at Spa La Mer. The variety of wellness services, from therapeutic massages to facial treatments, provided the perfect way to rejuvenate.
Meanwhile, the Kaanapali Trolley was a fantastic amenity that made exploring the surrounding area a breeze. We easily visited the championship golf courses, Whalers Village, and even enjoyed a beachfront luau – all without worrying about transportation.

Laidback Dining
What about dining at Kaanapali Villas? You don’t have to travel far for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as there’s the on-site Castaway Cafe. Nestled between the resort’s swimming pools and the sparkling ocean, the restaurant offers an idyllic beachfront setting that captures the essence of Hawaiian dining. The al fresco seating allows guests to soak in breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, with the islands of Lanai and Molokai providing a picturesque backdrop to our meals.
The menu at Castaway Café is a delightful celebration of Pacific Island flavors. We were impressed by the diverse selection that caters to various tastes and preferences. Breakfast was particularly memorable – the Castaway Eggs Benedict and Buttermilk Pancakes were absolute standouts that we couldn’t get enough of. Each morning, these dishes became our go-to choices, perfectly combining local ingredients with classic breakfast favorites. However, you should note that it’s not open on Mondays.

Beachfront Bliss
We can’t talk about Kaanapali Villas without mentioning Kaanapali Beach. As soon as we stepped out of our studio, we were greeted by an incredible three-mile stretch of pristine white sand beach that seemed to stretch endlessly before us. The moment our feet touched the powdery sand; we knew we’d found something special.
Water enthusiasts will be in heaven here. The ocean conditions are absolutely perfect for a variety of activities. We spent our days alternating between snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, paddleboarding along the coastline, and catching waves while kiteboarding. The marine environment is so rich that from December to March, guests can watch humpback whales playing offshore.
We also appreciated the Beach Activities Center. It was a one-stop shop for everything we needed. We rented stand-up paddle boards, snorkeling sets, and even beach chairs to make our days comfortable. This place even lends free sand toys and pool noodles for kids.
“This is truly one of, if not the best resort for beachgoers.”
