Best Budget. If you’re on a budget but still want to stay in a villa that’s only moments away from the beach, the Avalon 5 Villa is the best option. This budget-friendly accommodation offers an entire ground level that combines two units. On the property, there are five bedrooms that are comfy and equipped with all the standard amenities. Two of the bedrooms offer a king-sized bed, and there’s also one that comes with a queen-sized bed. Meanwhile, the other two boast twin beds, which are great for kids. In case of emergency, the sofa in the living area can also be used as a bed.
Compared to other luxury vacation rentals in San Diego, this one is more simple. However, it doesn’t mean it’s not comfortable. During our stay, we spent a lot of our time on the huge outdoor patio with a cozy seating area. Sip your favorite drink there while listening to your playlist and thank us later! And while we were there, we also used the BBQ facility several times.
Best of all, this villa is located in the popular South Mission Beach. It took us only a few steps away to reach the stunning white sand. There, you’ll find many people swimming and surfing. We thanked the villa a lot as it provided us with complimentary beach gear, boogie boards, and towels. It made our time on the beach much more enjoyable. CA Dreaming

Best Location. Another amazing option on this list is CA Dreaming. First, let’s highlight the location of this newly built villa. It’s only two blocks away from North Pacific Beach, which is often frequented by sunbathers and surfers. During our stay, we visited the area a few times. There, we found not only boutique stores but also yoga studios and some bars. It’s a nice place to visit if you want to kill some time.
Now, back to the villa! On the ground level, you’ll find an open floorplan living area. Aside from that, there’s also a fully equipped kitchen that overlooks the dining area. If you’re anything like us, you won’t be able to spend even half a day without a cup of coffee. Luckily, while we were there, there was a French Press, Nespresso machine, and drip coffee maker to be used. Your coffee is best enjoyed in the oversized living room featuring a cozy fireplace.
Moreover, the sliding glass doors will lead you to the outdoor patio with a nice seating area and BBQ. We think it’s the perfect spot on the property to enjoy a glass of wine. Apart from that, there are also two individual rooftop outdoor areas. Each of them has its seating area and outdoor fireplace. When it comes to the bedrooms, there are five spacious bedrooms that can sleep up to 14 people. Best of all, all of them come with a flat-screen TV and en suite bathroom!

Best for Small Groups. Staying in San Diego’s beach vacation rental doesn’t always have to cost you thousands of dollars. The San Diego 153 is proof! More affordable than many other options out there, this beautiful villa is ideal for a small group of friends or family. There were six of us, and it certainly was big enough for us. And luckily, although budget-friendly, this property doesn’t skimp on facilities.
When we first entered the villa, we found a spacious, open-plan living area, which was our favorite spot to have quality time with everyone. We’re sure you’ll enjoy relaxing on the sofa while watching some shows on the flat-screen TV. Right beside it is a dining area, which can seat up to eight people. Better yet, the beautiful beach can be seen through the gigantic glass windows from the dining area.
Also pet-friendly, this villa has three bedrooms in total. Two of them are equipped with a king-sized bed, and the other one has a bunk bed, which is ideal for children. For your comfort, this accommodation also offers complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout. Travel by car? Perfect, as the villa offers private parking for up to two vehicles. When the weather allows, step outside, and you’ll see a private deck with al fresco dining, BBQ, and sun loungers. Best of all, plenty of local eateries are only a short walk away!

Best for Large Groups. There might be dozens of beach vacation rentals in San Diego, but the Treasure Villa has to be one of the best. One of our favorite things about this villa is its location. Set in Mission Bay, it took us only a minute to reach the beach. In addition to that, the main street is also nearby. This means you’ll find endless dining and shopping options within a few steps away.
This single-level villa has 3,500 square feet of living space, meaning it’s perfect for large groups. This villa can comfortably accommodate up to 15 travelers, featuring 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The master bedroom features a comfy king bed and an en-suite bathroom, and it’s the most spacious option on the property. There are also three other bedrooms with a queen-sized bed; each can sleep up to two people. And if you’re coming with your kids, they can stay in the fifth bedroom, which has two bunk beds and a queen-sized bed.
If you’re the chef in your group, you can do your magic in the hallway. We were surprised by the size of the kitchen, as it was bigger than we expected and fitted with all the appliances we needed. We’re also a fan of the living room. There, you’ll find a huge 75″ SAMSUNG smart TV. There are also multiple seating areas, so you don’t have to sit on someone else’s lap. Step outside and see an expansive lawn and a tiled patio area. Want to pamper yourself after a long day of walking? Take a relaxing dip in the soaking hot tub!

Best for Families. By staying in San Diego 152, your San Diego vacation won’t be the same! This San Diego vacation rental is only steps away from the beach and numerous shops and eateries. We never ran out of things to do and explore throughout our stay. Set in Mission Beach, you can find tons of water activities near the property. Aside from that, the villa also provided us with a comprehensive guide, allowing us to live like a local.
Compared to some beach villas in the area, this one is pretty big. This four-story villa has five bedrooms. Two of them are set on the ground floor and come with a queen-sized bedroom. One of them also features a smart TV and an en-suite bathroom. There are also two bedrooms on the second floor. One has a queen-sized bed, and the other boasts a king-sized one and a flat-screen TV. The third bedroom, which is on the third floor, is perfect for kids. It boasts a bunk bed and twin trundle.
Perfect for a group of 16 or less, you won’t regret spending your nights here. To make your stay seamless and memorable, it offers a concierge service to elevate your experience. From grocery delivery to restaurant reservations, the staff will be more than happy to help you. Though we only spent a few nights there, we made sure to take advantage of the services. Other notable amenities include a rooftop sky deck, fire pit, BBQ, and private parking.

Best Overall. Sitting on top of this list is Point Break Villa. Like many of its competitors, this San Diego beach villa rental is only a stone’s throw away from the beach. However, if you want to go a little bit further, you’ll find not only Belmont Park but also SeaWorld San Diego! It’s only a five-minute drive away from the villa. Of course, we had to visit the theme park while we were there, and you should, too!

WOW Travel
If you plan to visit San Diego with your family, friends, and relatives, this is the best bet. That’s because this property can accommodate up to 24 guests! Pretty impressive, right? There are eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms in total. There are three master suites with a king-sized bed, and each can sleep two people. Others feature either a queen-sized bed or a bunk bed.
You can rest assured that this villa has all the essential amenities. For instance, there’s air conditioning throughout, and guests who want to whip up a meal can cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Apart from that, most bedrooms have flat-screen TVs. When we were there, we loved to chill on the lounger outside while enjoying a glass of wine. Talk about the perfect way to end the day!
