Coolest helmet. We wanted a good-looking helmet that would make us feel more confident while we were on the road. And that’s exactly how we felt when we tried on the POC Tectal Helmet. Not only does it look awesome, but it also felt great to wear. These positive vibes we felt were most likely due to the Tectal’s well-ventilated design, which is designed specifically for aggressive cyclists. Apart from that, the helmet also has the brand’s excellent aramid bridge system that provided durable and lightweight protection. Rounding up the features is the presence of the adjustable visor, which could be raised high enough for our sunglasses or even mask to be able to slip underneath.

Best value-for-money. When looking for a protective helmet for all the aggressive cycling that we do, and that too without breaking the bank. That’s when we came across the Lazer Revolution MIPS Helmet. It provided maximum protection for our heads in what was a very lightweight design. So, we were able to wear it for a long time without feeling too hot at all. As for the visor, it’s fully adjustable. Best UV-protective helmet. We found the Shinmax Bike Helmet to be a really nice product. For one, we were really impressed with the quality of the materials they used. Apart from that, this helmet also had a great fitting and adjustment system that worked remarkably well. Since we were concerned about the visor, too, we were greatly pleased to see that it was detachable. Besides that, it also came with UV 400-protected goggles as well, which protected our face and eyes against the wind and sand while cycling. Plus, we could choose to wear them or not, which was great! Another feature we liked was the magnet, which snapped the face shield very easily. Wrapping up the features is the 21 vents and the USB rechargeable Led rear light, which is a great touch.

For us, the Lazer Coyote KinetiCore was a 110 USD helmet that looked, felt, and fitted like it was much more expensive. Weighing just 340 grams (for the medium size), the Coyote was quite lightweight for a modern mountain biking helmet. The reason for it is the absence of MIPS and the presence of KinetiCore. The latter consists of “controlled crumple zones” that are in-built into the EPS foam, thus mitigating rotational impacts – but without all the MIPS weight. Plus, we loved the raised foam blocks making up the crumple zones, which create lots of internal air channeling. That could be the reason why the helmet felt so airy and cool! Wrapping up the features is the fact that it comes in six cool colors, which was more than enough for us.
