Recently, we have been recording most of our trips to create travel vlogs. We were using a DSLR for this purpose but discovered that GoPro cameras create hilarious shots. Thus, we started using a GoPro but had to look for a Best Buy GoPro mount to get professional videos. We searched for the available mounts and found different options. Some are used for standstill shots, and others are used to fix cameras on vehicles and moving objects. Further, there are handheld mounts to move with the camera and get non-wavey shots. We browsed all the available options and tried the best of them. Here is our review. Today, we’ll tell you about our favorite mounts and how to choose a GoPro mount.

Large Tube Mount
6
Let’s introduce this Large Tube Mount. We initially bought this for our motorcycle. We could easily attach the mount to the motorcycle handle. The clamp felt very durable and secure. Even though the motorcycle handle had a big rubber wrapping around it, we could tighten the clamp around it, and the camera didn’t move an inch. The clamp has wide adjustability, but it’s designed for large tubes. The thing here is that this mount is bulky. It’s designed for things like motorcycle handles, but it won’t fit other small tubes. We knew this before buying, so we checked the specs first. You’ll find them here on the official website if you want to check them too. The base swivels 260 degrees, not 360 like other mounts. Overall, this mount does its job perfectly.
Pros
- It’s very secure and durable
- It’s easy to attach to poles or tubes
- It’s a great value for money
Cons
- The base swivels 260 degrees only

Hand-Wrist Strap
5
Most lightweight. The Hand-Wrist Strap mount is a very creative GoPro mount. As the name suggests, it’s wrapped around the hand and wrist with the camera over it. We used it a couple of times while walking and driving. The best thing about this mount is that it can be used in different ways. This video from Scotty Morris will show you other creative ways to use the mount. Moreover, we could take the best POV shots with this mount. It tilts and swivels 360 degrees, so controlling the camera was a breeze. While this feature is available in most GoPro mounts, this one in particular is very handy. It isn’t recognizable as a camera mount, so we could take it wherever we go, such as on amusement park rides and water slides. It’s the lightest among all mounts.
Pros
- The mount is very lightweight
- It’s easy to use and control
- It can be used anywhere
Cons
- It isn’t adjustable for all hands

Handlebar / Seatpost / Pole Mount
4
The Handlebar / Seatpost / Pole Mount is multipurpose. It’s one of the best value-for-money GoPro mounts from Best Buy. We could fix it around the handles of our mountain bike. Other times, we attached it to the seat post of a boat. Generally, it’s a clamp that can be fixed on any pole. To adjust the cam, we used the mount rotation mechanism. This was super easy while riding a bike. You might see other buyers complaining about the small diameter of the clamp. To be honest, we didn’t try the mount on motorcycles as we already have another one (The Large Tube Mount) for our motorcycle. However, we can see the specs, and it’s clear that this GoPro is smaller than the aforementioned one. So, We believe this one is more than perfect for bikes and seatposts. It is the main purpose it’s designed for.
Pros
- The mount is sold at a reasonable price
- It’s easy to use
- It’s suitable for all GoPro models
Cons
- It might shake if the terrain is very bumpy

Chesty Mount
3
Best freehand. We used the Chesty Mount to capture a live video of us hiking and walking through a sloping trail that wasn’t easy at all. We were surprised at the quality of the videos, as there were no wavey shots or shaking, and everything was perfect, as if we were professional shooters. Yet, the best thing was that we didn’t need to hold the cam or attach it to anything. We wore our GoPro.
The mount is also stretchable and adjustable. However, we don’t think it’ll fit us if we’re wearing layers. Guys with bulky bodies should check the size before buying. It might feel expensive for some people, but this is how original GoPro mounts are priced. For the sake of getting a durable original mount, we didn’t mind the price. Pros
- We could shoot videos without hands-free
- The strap is comfortable to wear
- It’s durable and high-quality
Cons
- The adjustable straps might be tight for some people

Jaws Flex Clamp
2
Most flexible. Jaws Flex Clamp is very versatile. It rotates, tilts up and down, moves from side to side, and literally moves in all directions. We have many ideas of how and where to use this mount. It’s one of the GoPro mounts that we have been using for years, and we have gotten creative with it.
It’s designed to fix the camera on stationary objects. However, we could mount our cam inside a moving car using a piece of rubber. The same thing goes when riding a motorcycle or a bicycle, although we have other better options mentioned above. The clip can attach to a range of diameters. We never went beyond that range so as not to break the clip. It feels durable, but we stuck to the manufacturer’s instructions to maintain the mount the longest.
“Super excited with this mount. It’s highly maneuverable and durable. We can shoot a whole film from different directions using this mount.”
WOW Travel
Pros
- The clip is durable and secure
- The mount is very flexible
- It can be used for several purposes
Cons
- The price is relatively high

Suction Cup Mount
1
The Suction Cup Mount is one of the most stationary GoPro mounts for moving objects such as cars, boats, or any vehicles. The mechanism is pretty easy; it sticks to even surfaces tightly with the camera over it. We had a slight problem here, however, as the suction cup was larger than some of the surfaces we wanted to use the mount on—it was larger than any surface on our motorcycle, for example.
On the other hand, off-road trips were so much fun with this mount. We could capture every moment by fixing this mount on top of our Jeep. Surfing was also great; the mount didn’t move an inch even though the wind was hard. It’s a very durable mount. We tested it several times, and it went great. This is a good mount for getting steady shots even on non-moving objects.
Pros
- The mount is very durable
- It can withstand fast-moving vehicles
- It has different uses
Cons
- The suction cup is a bit big for some surfaces

How To Choose The Best Best Buy GoPro Mount?
When we started searching for GoPro mounts, you were confused at first about where to start. Thus, we decided to create a checklist to help you decide what to choose. We’re sharing this checklist with you here.
Compatible cameras
Not all mounts work with all GoPro models. Some mounts are manufactured to hold certain models only. Thus, when buying, we made sure that the mount we bought was compatible with our camera. Some universal mounts hold all GoPro models. These are more practical as we didn’t have to be accessories for each cam whenever we needed to upgrade our GoPro model.
Mounting type
This feature was very important for us to check and even try before keeping the mount. Some mounts are handheld, such as the hand-wrist GoPro mount. This was beneficial for filming while walking on the streets or riding a boat. The chest mount was better while hiking. Other mounts that work with a suction mechanism are suitable for filming while driving. On the other side, bikes have special mounts that can be fixed on the handle. So, it all depends on how and where we’ll be using the mount.
Features
We thought that mounts just held the camera, and we had to do everything else. However, we found that mounts have different features, and this is what makes a difference in the price. Some features we were looking for were an easy on/off button, a 360-degree base to swivel the cam in all directions, an easy clamp for securing the cam on any surface, and adjustability.
How long can a GoPro record without stopping?
It depends on the model. However, the maximum time a GoPro can record continuously is around two hours. Otherwise, it might overheat.
