Jungfrau Lodge, Swiss Mountain Hotel
11
Though some might see it as an older hotel, we still highly recommend the Jungfrau Lodge, Swiss Mountain Hotel. The place has been family-run for over a hundred years, and you can sense that in the warmth of everyone who works there. This hotel has nothing fancy, but that’s exactly its superpower. With honest Swiss hospitality and old-world charm, we found this place to be one of the coziest Grindelwald Switzerland hotels.
If you want to have a mountain view, book the larger Double Room. Our room was clean, snug, and welcoming, with no unnecessary frills. The real star, though, was the balcony. We would spend our morning there, just watching the clouds drift across the peaks before heading down for breakfast.
Speaking of which, the breakfast was simple but satisfying, with plenty of hot options to kick-start the day. Plus, being able to buy ski passes and cable car tickets right at the front desk saved us time (and a bit of confusion).

Eiger Mountain & Soul Resort
10
Eiger Mountain & Soul Resort has this warm, wooden charm that instantly made us want to drop our bags and stay forever. It’s right in the heart of Grindelwald, so we could go out for coffee or gear rentals in mere minutes. The staff members were all so friendly, and so were the guests we met.
For a better experience, we recommend getting a room on a higher floor, like our Lifestyle Comfort room. The sight of the peaks and the little cottages below was a highlight. Breakfast was included in our stay, and we made it a slow ritual every morning with fresh bread, local cheese, and too much coffee. But if there’s one thing not to miss, it’s Barry’s, the hotel’s restaurant. Their fondue was absolute perfection.
Whenever we needed to soothe our muscles, we could always rely on the spa treatments. There are saunas, herbal baths, and a private soak with mountain herbs on the property. And if you’re visiting in the summer, you can also take advantage of the climbing wall tucked on the side of the hotel and get free access to the local sports center.

Sunstar Hotel & SPA Grindelwald

We checked into Sunstar Hotel & SPA Grindelwald on one sunny afternoon, and it didn’t take us long to realize we had made the right choice. We were literally just across the First Cable Car. Within minutes of dropping our bags, we were already riding up into the mountains. Not to mention, the staff were warm and easygoing, which only made our stay even better.
We booked the Premium Double Room, and it came with a big bed that swallowed us whole. The real highlight, though, was the balcony view. Yep, the Eiger view was breathtaking! Some of our friends lucked out with a view of the Wetterhorn, but to be honest, all of the views were gorgeous.
After days of hiking and exploring, the spa became our happy place. We spent lazy evenings dipping in the pool and sweating it out in the sauna. Dinner was also a treat. We went all-in on cheese fondue and also tried the international dishes that somehow still felt local. Our favorite, though, was to have a drink by the fireplace outside.

Aspen Alpine Lifestyle Hotel

You can’t go wrong with the Aspen Alpine Lifestyle Hotel, one of the top Grindelwald Switzerland hotels. Here, the air was crisp, the wood-smoked scent from nearby chalets lingered, and everywhere we looked, it was snow, peaks, and peace. Our Double Room was pure Swiss charm with its warm wooden design and cozy touches. When we pulled open the curtains that first morning and saw the Eiger, we were speechless.
The best part? We could literally ski right out from the hotel. No crowds, no lines. It was just us, the fresh snow, and the quiet mountain. After a few runs, we spent the afternoon unwinding in the spa. The indoor pool and sauna melted away every bit of muscle ache, and sitting in the outdoor whirlpool surrounded by snow was straight out of a movie.
Apart from the wellness and spa area, we also found the restaurant’s terrace to be one of the coziest spots. The food was hearty, beautifully presented, and we loved that they even offered halal dishes. Since it’s a bit outside town, we had arranged a shuttle from the train station.

Eiger Lodge Chic

Eiger Lodge Chic is a great choice for travelers looking for the perfect mountain hideaway. This lodge is just a short stroll from Grindelwald Terminal, where the Eiger Express gondola takes you straight up to Männlichen or Jungfraujoch. We loved how effortless everything was; within minutes of arriving, we were already planning which peak to tackle first.
We booked a Family Room with a double bed and bunk beds, and it felt roomy enough for everyone to unwind after a day outside. But the real showstopper? The view, of course. We splurged on a higher-floor room, and nothing could top waking up to the Eiger glowing pink in the sunrise.
If you love to ski, this lodge won’t disappoint. Thanks to the ski-to-door access, you can have fun with ease. And if you’re looking for other types of fun, you can check out the hotel’s cozy lounge, little games room, and minimarket.

Belvedere Swiss Quality Hotel

Best for Families. The Belvedere Swiss Quality Hotel is one of the most popular hotels in the village. It’s just a short walk from the station, but once inside, it’s all peace, mountain air, and jaw-dropping views of the Eiger. The place has that cozy, family-run warmth that makes you feel at home in no time.
That said, we really appreciated the family-friendly amenities. Despite that, the hotel didn’t lose its upscale vibe. Our kids were spoiled from the start thanks to the mini playground, the tiny robes and slippers, and even the fruit amuse-bouche at dinner made just for them. They also loved the little rubber ducky souvenir. Every detail was thoughtful, like the hotel genuinely wanted families to have a blast.
The food was just as memorable. Breakfast at Restaurant Belvedere was a feast. Think croissants, dumplings, and eggs, all with mountain views. We snuck away one night for dinner at 1910, the hotel’s Michelin-starred spot. It was totally worth it. Looking for some wellness amenities? Take advantage of the hotel’s heated pool, jacuzzis, and peaceful spa.

Boutique Hotel Glacier
5
Boutique Hotel Glacier first opened back in 1864, when the glacier stretched all the way to the valley and people came by horse and carriage to see it. Now the ice has pulled back into the mountains, but the hotel hasn’t missed a beat. In fact, it’s evolved with grace, keeping its old-world soul while embracing the modern traveler’s dream of comfort and style.
Today, it effortlessly blends its past with the present. When we were there, the classic chalet shape was still there, but inside it was a different story. It was like part cozy mountain lodge, part sleek boutique escape. The rooms are warm and thoughtful, with soft parquet floors, plush COCO-MAT beds, and thoughtful additions like Marshall speakers and Nespresso machines. Everywhere you look, there’s a subtle nod to the mountains.
The cherry on top, though, is the view. Some rooms, like ours, even have a private wooden deck with a bubbling hot tub that faces the Alps. We couldn’t help but spend our time there, just soaking everything in. It also became our favorite spot to enjoy a glass of wine and the mountain air.

Boutique Hotel Panorama Grindelwald

Best Boutique. We had been eyeing Boutique Hotel Panorama Grindelwald ever since it reopened in 2024 after its big two-year makeover, and we can confidently say it was worth the wait. What was our first impression? Perfect views! Perched with a direct view of the Eiger-Nordwand and glacier, we couldn’t have asked for a better location.
Though the suites were tempting, the King Room was more than enough for us. It came with a lovely balcony, which was our go-to spot in the mornings. We would enjoy our tea and coffee there, enjoying the total silence, except for the birds and cowbells in the distance. Inside, everything was cozy yet modern, with warm wood tones and thoughtful touches that made it feel personal. With only 14 rooms in the entire hotel, it never felt crowded.
Need a place to wind down that’s not your room? Head to the lounge! It boasts a cozy fireplace and is the perfect place to enjoy a drink with fellow travelers. When we were there, someone even started playing the grand piano, making it feet like a private concert.
“Though small, this boutique hotel offered us a big experience!”

Eiger View Alpine Lodge

We spent a weekend at Eiger View Alpine Lodge, and it’s one of our best finds so far. The walk up from town is steep, there’s no denying that. However, it was totally worth it. While the streets below were packed on Saturday night, up here it was pure calm. And the view was simply mesmerizing.
Our Studio Room couldn’t have been better. It was super comfortable, beautifully designed, and the bathroom was huge. We also loved that there was a kitchen we could use; perfect for making lunches before heading out on hikes. The best part, though, was sitting on our balcony with coffee in hand, watching the clouds drift around the Eiger.
Our days at this lodge weren’t far from relaxing. We started each day with a simple breakfast at the on-site restaurant, yet accompanied by that stunning view. After hiking, we would crash in the deck chairs outside, just letting the mountain air do its magic. There’s a little garden on-site, too, complete with a swing and benches.

Hotel Fiescherblick

Best Views. We couldn’t have picked a better spot for our getaway than Hotel Fiescherblick, one of the best hotels in Grindelwald Switzerland. Tucked just the right distance from the town’s main buzz, it gave us the perfect balance between tranquility and easy access to everything we wanted to see. Each morning, we would gear up and hit the nearby slopes. The runs were pristine, the snow was powdery, and the mountain views were breathtaking. A tip from us: the outdoor hot tub is the best spot to enjoy the views!
We always enjoyed our time in our Panoramic Room, even when we were doing nothing. It was warm, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with a balcony that allowed us to take in the mountain view. We also loved the thoughtful details throughout the room, from the plush bedding to the high-quality toiletries that made our stay effortlessly luxurious.
Our dining experience was also fantastic. The on-site restaurant took us on a culinary journey. We indulged in the Chef’s Choice menu, a creative blend of local, Scandinavian, and Japanese flavors. Every bite told a story of place and passion. The staff really made the experience shine, too. Everyone from the breakfast waitress to the owners greeted us warmly.

Bergwelt Grindelwald Alpine Design Resort

Best for Alpine Adventures. We had high expectations for Bergwelt Grindelwald Alpine Design Resort, and each of them was met! We were close to Jungfrau, and we could ski or snowboard anytime we wanted with ease. Heck, the hotel even offered to arrange paragliding across Jungfrau for us. And to soothe our muscles after hours of activities, we would head to the Fire & Ice Spa with its steamy saunas and icy plunges.
We booked the Luxury Room, and it had everything we wanted from a mountain accommodation: warm wood, plush textures, and huge windows with Eiger views. We loved staying in our room as it was so peaceful and cozy. For families and groups, there are larger residences available, too.
When we weren’t chilling in our room or spa, we were probably drinking cocktails at The Seven Spirits bar. For something more sophisticated, you can go to The Other Club, where you’ll find cigars and leather chairs. Dinner was always a tough choice for us: the cozy charm of Pinte, the elegance of BG’s Grill, or that unbeatable mountain view from the terrace. However, every night ended the same way: with a full stomach!

Where to Stay in Grindelwald, Switzerland
We’re sure you’ll love staying in the village center, especially if it’s your first time visiting Grindelwald. It’s the heart of the village, with easy access to shops, restaurants, bakeries, and transport links like the train and bus stations. You’ll also find several cable car and lift stations within short walking distance, which makes it ideal for skiing or hiking without the hassle of long commutes. Of course, the area offers stunning views of the Eiger and a lively atmosphere, too.
However, if you prefer peace and quiet, Grund, located slightly lower in the valley, might be the best choice. This area is more residential and tranquil, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the river that runs through it. Grund provides a more local feel and generally offers better value for money. It’s perfect for those who want a calm environment but still want to be close to the main attractions.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Firstbahn area, near the First cable car station, is the perfect choice. It’s a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone looking to spend most of their time exploring nature. Staying here gives you quick access to some of Grindelwald’s best trails and breathtaking viewpoints, such as the Cliff Walk and Bachalpsee.
However, if you want to extend your stay and explore other regions, we highly recommend Interlaken, which is only 30 minutes away. And for the recommendations, here are the best hotels in Interlaken with a view and the best luxury hotels in Interlaken!
