Hapimag Ferienwohnungen Interlaken
11
Let’s kick off this list with Hapimag Ferienwohnungen Interlaken. This place is right in the center, just a short walk from the Interlaken East train station, which made exploring the region super easy. We loved being close enough to hop on a train one minute and then wander back to our apartment to relax on the terrace the next. Having ski storage and even a ski pass counter on site also makes it a popular destination in winter.
After days spent exploring, the spa area became our favorite spot. We would slip into one of the three indoor pools and just let our legs recover from all the walking. The sauna and steam bath were perfect for winding down, and we even saw families making the most of the playground while parents got a bit of downtime.
Our apartment had the comfort of home, with a kitchenette for easy meals and a lovely balcony with mountain views. The Wi-Fi was solid, and even though there’s no air-conditioning, the crisp alpine air kept things cool. Some evenings we cooked, but most of the time we went out to try the nearby cafes since everything was so close.

Boutique Hotel Bellevue
10
Boutique Hotel Bellevue is one of the most conveniently located luxury hotels in Interlaken. It’s only steps from the Interlaken-West station and all the little shops and cafes we wanted to explore, yet somehow right on the peaceful Aare River. At night, instead of city noise, we fell asleep to the sound of water rushing by.
Speaking of which, our room was bright and simple, but the balcony was the one that stole the show. We loved standing there, admiring the mountains in the distance and the river below. Of course, we had modern conveniences, too. The Wi-Fi kept us connected, the coffee station kept us fueled, and we loved how relaxed the whole space felt.
The breakfast here was great as well. It kept us full so we could hike and explore with full energy. Once we were back, we would end the day with a glass of wine on the terrace overlooking the river. If you don’t drink, you can call it a day by relaxing in the little garden.

HOP Apartments & Suites

Tucked away on the banks of the Aare River, HOP Apartments & Suites is Interlaken‘s best hidden gem. It’s in such a sweet spot, as it’s only a 5-minute stroll from Interlaken West and about 15 to Interlaken East. We loved how peaceful the atmosphere was, especially with the Jungfrau region right at our doorstep. It was the perfect riverside escape.
Inside, the newly designed spaces immediately set the tone for relaxation. The apartments and suites feel fresh and airy, and the shared areas are thoughtfully put together, inviting us to slow down and enjoy the calm. We loved coming back after a walk and being able to make ourselves a quick cup of tea or coffee with the complimentary supplies. Parking was straightforward, too, which made arriving and setting out for day trips hassle-free.
One of the loveliest parts of our stay, though, was the way it ended. As we checked out, we were handed a small bag of dried apples. It was a simple gesture that felt incredibly warm and personal. We highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re traveling with your family or friends and need a bigger space.

SALZANO Apartments

Best for Extended Stays. Looking for your fancy home away from home? We have a feeling you’ll like SALZANO Apartments. The setting of this apartment was like something out of a postcard. It was peaceful, green, and tucked just far enough away to feel private. Despite that, we could still walk to the golf course easily and drive to explore the St. Beatus Caves in just a few minutes.
Our spacious apartment was like an Alpine nest. With a private entrance, a spacious living room, and a separate bedroom, it gave us that “home” feeling. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The highlight, though, was sipping morning coffee on the terrace, looking out at the garden while the mountains framed the view.
In the mood to pamper yourself? Go to the spa center to hit that reset button! After that, enjoy dinner at the on-site restaurant. Speaking of food, we really enjoyed the breakfast spread. We had local cheeses, warm pastries, and best of all, champagne. Perfect!

Hotel Interlaken

Hotel Interlaken managed to surprise us in the best way possible. This 4-star hotel is set right in the center of Interlaken, so everything was a short stroll away. Numerous restaurants, shops, the Japanese Gardens, and even the train station were within easy reach. Despite that, once we were inside the hotel, all the noises were blocked. It was cozy, calm, and luxurious.
We booked the Large Room with a balcony, and our favorite thing was waking up to the gorgeous mountain views. Of course, the big, plush bed also allowed us to sleep like babies. Though simple, our room wasn’t boring at all, thanks to the alpine-style touches. We also spent a lot of time just sitting on the balcony, enjoying our coffee.
Our dining experience was also fantastic. We loved the breakfast, especially the fresh bread and cheeses. We also enjoyed our dinner at The Taverne. The modern Swiss dishes tasted so good! With good food, amazing views, and great atmosphere, we truly had a memorable stay.

Carlton-Europe Vintage Adults Hotel

The Carlton-Europe Vintage Adults Hotel has everything it takes to be one of the top Interlaken luxury hotels. First, the location. When we hopped off the train at Interlaken Ost, we could reach the hotel in just a three-minute walk. From the doorstep, we had adventures at our fingertips. Lake Burgseeli was just a short ride away, and the famous St. Beatus caves made for a perfect day trip.
While there were plenty of room options, we got the Superior Double Room. We had an espresso machine, fast Wi-Fi, and even a safe for our passports. The bathroom was simple but comfortable, with a hot shower that helped us relax after long hikes.
What surprised us most was how much the hotel had waiting when we weren’t out exploring. The spa was exactly what our sore muscles needed, and having ski storage right there was great in winter. Meals were a highlight too, especially at Hansen-Ritschard-Saal, where we enjoyed hearty dishes with a glass of local wine. And the breakfast wasn’t your average buffet as well.

BEATUS Wellness & Spa Hotel

Best Spa. If you’ve been wanting to hit the pause button on life, we highly recommend staying at the BEATUS Wellness & Spa Hotel. The wellness area, which you can use for free (yes, free!), quickly became our favorite hangout. We hopped between the sauna, sunbeds, and indoor pool before giving in to a massage that we couldn’t have enough of.
For our stay, we booked the Aeschi Deluxe Room, and it was flawless. The space was big and bright, with a minibar and a cozy nook for lounging, but the balcony was the one that stole the show. Every morning, we stepped out to sweeping views of Lake Thun, coffee in hand, watching the light dance across the water.
Speaking of views, the hotel sits right on the shore. With floor-to-ceiling windows almost everywhere, the lake and mountains followed us everywhere we went. One of our favorite activities was soaking in the bathtub while looking straight out at the lake. From swimming in the saltwater pool outdoors to just sitting still with the scenery, every moment made us fall in love with Switzerland even deeper.

Dorint Blüemlisalp Beatenberg/Interlaken

If you spend your nights at Dorint Blüemlisalp Beatenberg/Interlaken, you can expect gorgeous views. Think snow-dusted peaks and rolling valleys. But what amazed us the most, though, was the hotel’s quirky triangular shape that fits right into the mountain backdrop. Even though it’s technically outside Interlaken, we never felt far away. The bus stop right outside made it super easy to get into town.
Breakfasts in the Wintergarten were full of fresh breads and cheeses, and dinners felt indulgent, especially in the Stübli with its warm, rustic vibe. We also enjoyed the cocktails at the Euro-Treff bar. And in between outings, the spa was our sanctuary. A swim in the pool, a steam bath, then just sitting back in the sauna.
There were three of us, so we decided to get the Duplex Apartment. Upstairs, we had a snug bedroom with a double bed, while the downstairs living room gave us space to relax, play cards, and take in those mountain views. We also had a kitchenette! For us, it was just the right mix of comfort and simplicity.

Royal St. Georges Hotel Interlaken

The Royal St. Georges Hotel Interlaken transports its guests into a different time. When we first arrived, we were immediately awed by the 1908 façade, and the lobby with its soaring ceilings and classic details wowed us even more. Plus, being just a short stroll from the Harderbahn and the town center made it the perfect spot for exploring.
Curious about the meals we had? We were spoiled with a hearty breakfast every day, fueling us for our mountain adventures. We also love dining at the on-site restaurant and having a drink at the bar. And when we were free, we would chill on the garden terrace, which gave us stunning views of the Jungfrau and Harder Kulm.
Now, let’s talk about our Royal Suite. It was extremely spacious, comfortable, and with thoughtful details like a Nespresso machine and a big tub for soaking. It also came with a balcony that opened up to mountain views, which was an absolute dream to wake up to. Oh, don’t forget to use one of the two saunas and the amenities at the wellness center!

Grand Hotel Beau Rivage Interlaken

Best Dining. There are luxury hotels, and then there’s the Grand Hotel Beau Rivage Interlaken, a first-class destination for world-class travelers. Housed in a historic building, this hotel is elegant, warm, and welcoming. We loved having the Jungfraujoch and towering Alps as our backdrop throughout our stay.
Choosing a room was almost overwhelming. There were so many tempting options among the 101 available. We finally settled into the Junior Suite with a balcony. Being able to wake up to those stunning mountain views was everything. After a good night’s sleep, we would open our windows to let the sound of the River Aere drift in.
The key to making us happy is food, and this hotel knew exactly that. We loved the generous Swiss spread we had for breakfast. Meanwhile, dinner at Bonne Fourchette was refined but cozy, and L’Ambiance quickly became our favorite spot thanks to its terrace overlooking the river. And whenever we needed a drink, we would head to Le Vieux Rivage. You don’t drink? Visit the spa center instead! Make use of the sauna and steam room or enjoy the variety of beauty treatments.
“If you’re a foodie, this is the best luxury hotel in Interlaken that offers the best culinary experience.”

Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa

Best 5-Star. As the name implies, the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa is nothing short of grandeur. In fact, it’s one of the best five star hotels in Interlaken. The view of the Jungfrau towering above Höhematte Park was enchanting, with paragliders spiraling down like colorful confetti. Interlaken couldn’t be better placed for adventures. Our highlight, though, was the two-hour ride up to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest train station, where we crunched through snow in September and gazed across the endless white of the Aletsch Glacier.
Still, the hotel made it very hard to leave. The service was attentive but never hovering. Plus, the concierge seemed to have a sixth sense for what we might need, from hiking maps to insider tips. During our spare time, we would pamper ourselves at the salon over tea, play a game of billiards, or join a Pilates class. You don’t have to worry about dining either! We were in love with the breakfast, which consisted of fresh juice, flaky pastries, eggs, and more, all served in La Terrasse.
Almost all of the accommodations here are suites, and we decided to go with the Tower Suite. At 215 sqm (1,345.49 sq ft), it was like we were in a palace, complete with our own dining room and terrace with views of Jungfrau. The interiors were grand but cozy, with heavy drapes, antique touches, and just the right amount of old-world charm. We appreciated the small gestures, too, like the fruit platter waiting for us after a long day.

Where to Stay in Interlaken
Want to be in the heart of the action? Central Interlaken is the place to stay. This area is buzzing with restaurants, shops, and activity hubs, and it offers the easiest access to both train stations for day trips into the Jungfrau region. Staying here means you can walk everywhere, whether it’s strolling through Höhematte Park, hopping on a boat cruise, or catching a bus into the mountains.
Just outside the bustle of the main town, Unterseen and Matten offer a quieter, more authentic experience while keeping you within walking distance of everything. Unterseen charms with its historic old-town feel, cobblestone streets, and traditional Swiss character, while Matten has more of a residential, meadow-like vibe with parks and open spaces.
If your main goal is exploring the mountains, Interlaken Ost is an excellent choice. This area is where most trains and excursions to Jungfraujoch, Lauterbrunnen, and Grindelwald depart, making it a strategic base for alpine adventures. It’s also slightly quieter than the central district, so it’s ideal if you prefer a calmer setting at the end of the day. While you’ll be a bit farther from the main restaurant and nightlife scene, you’ll gain unmatched convenience for accessing Switzerland’s most breathtaking mountain landscapes.
