Conference convenience
As the name suggests, the Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Convention Center is strategically located across from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, making it a top choice for conference travelers. We thought that was all, but we were wrong. We were only a block from the Mississippi River for downtime for a scenic stroll.
Even better, major attractions like Caesars Casino, the Riverwalk Marketplace, and the Superdome were all within a two-mile radius, so we could easily access all of them by car. Also, we were thrilled when we found out the hotel is the closest accommodation to the port, with a free shuttle to whisk travelers away and even special cruise packages available. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this spot for its prime location!

More than just a business hotel
While it caters primarily to business travelers, the Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Convention Center can also be an excellent option for leisure travelers. We knew the hotel wouldn’t be packed with mega-luxury amenities, but we also knew it had so much to offer than just modern business facilities.
Whenever we wanted to work out, we just went to the 24/7 fitness center. We never had to scramble to fit in a workout around limited gym hours. The fitness center even has a Peloton bike, which is a nice addition for travelers who enjoy those spin classes.
Another amenity we really liked was the outdoor pool. Needless to say, it was our go-to relaxation spit. It’s located in a private courtyard, so it felt like a hidden oasis in the middle of the city. nothing could beat the feeling of taking a refreshing dip after exploring the Big Easy.

Free, hearty breakfast!
The Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Convention Center is known for many things but stingy. We were spoiled by a complimentary hot breakfast every morning throughout our stay. After all, how could we enjoy NOLA’s historic charm and beautiful architecture if we were starving? Not only that, the hotel also offers breakfast bags to go on weekdays, which are perfect for those super early meetings.
However, the location truly shines if you’re looking for a wider selection. Several excellent restaurants are just a short walk away. Cochon Restaurant, known for its delicious pork dishes and innovative Cajun cuisine, is a must-try. We really loved its Wood Fired Oysters! If you’re seeking a more modern vibe, Galliano Restaurant offers a relaxed, rustic setting to enjoy their take on modern Cajun cuisine. Make sure to order the Louisiana Seafood Lafourche.
With these options so close by, we had the best of both worlds: a convenient free breakfast and the chance to explore the city’s renowned culinary scene. Pretty cool, right?

Haven for relaxation
If you’re anything like us, you’d want the best when it comes to the place to rest your head and body. We stayed at Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Convention Center in the Deluxe King Suite. It wasn’t the cheapest option, but it sure was worth our extra money.
Thanks to the suite, it felt like we had a whole little apartment for our stay. The suite was spacious and recently renovated, which made a big difference. It had a clean and comfy king-sized bed, plus a handy sofa bed for those quick power naps.
There’s a large work desk and free Wi-Fi for those who like to stay connected while traveling. We were also pleasantly surprised by the little kitchenette! It had a mini fridge and microwave, which allowed us to store leftovers from all the amazing New Orleans food we were trying. Plus, the bathroom was a real treat. It featured a luxurious whirlpool tub, a WaterPik showerhead (we loved how powerful it was), and all the Neutrogena bath amenities we could need.
“If you don’t mind spending a little bit more, the suite is definitely worth it.”
