Red Rock views
Why did we love the Holiday Inn Express so much? One of the biggest reasons was its location. It was the perfect base to explore the stunning beauty of the area. Being nestled near Bell Rock was everything we wanted, and we spent so much time hiking and taking in the breathtaking views of Red Rock.
The hotel’s proximity to other attractions was also a major plus. We were able to easily visit the numerous art galleries, go on a Jeep tour, and even take a hot air balloon ride. There were so many things to do and see, and the hotel’s location made it all easily accessible.
What about the nearby dining options? There were plenty of local restaurants serving delicious food made with fresh, local ingredients. We especially enjoyed Cucina Rustica, which had amazing Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The atmosphere there was so charming, and the food was delicious.

Dogs are welcome!
Aside from its location, we were also excited to spend our nights at the Holiday Inn Express as it’s pet-friendly. For a small fee of 30 USD per pet, per night, we were able to bring our two dogs, who weighed well under the 35 lbs limit. We have to admit that the hotel’s pet policy was straightforward to follow. We did appreciate the requirement to crate our dogs when left unattended, as it helped ensure the safety and comfort of both our pets and other guests.
The hotel also provided a designated pet walk area, which was a great convenience for us. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the outdoors and getting some exercise. However, you should note that cats aren’t allowed on the property.

Clean and cozy rooms
The quality of the rooms at the Holiday Inn Express also surprised us. There are so many options to choose from, starting from standard rooms to suites. We chose the King Room and it was such a great value for money. Even our dogs seemed to like it as they couldn’t stop wagging their tails.
Our room offered a breathtaking view of the eastern sunrise, making it feel like we were camping in a luxurious hotel. The location on the second floor provided a great vantage point to enjoy the starry night sky, as Sedona is an International Dark Sky community. Not to mention, the bed was incredibly comfortable, so we didn’t even need to use the blackout curtains.
“Once we knew this hotel accepted dogs, we were instantly sold.”

Thoughtful amenities
The Holiday Inn Express isn’t some fancy resort, so don’t expect out-of-this-world amenities. However, what they offer is still enjoyable. We especially enjoyed taking a dip in the heated swimming pool, which was open all day long. Thanks to it, we were able to relax our tired muscles after exploring the red rocks. Additionally, there’s a hot tub, too.
The complimentary fitness center was also a huge plus. We were able to get in a good workout every morning, thanks to the wide variety of equipment available. And for the cycling enthusiasts, the bike repair station is a thoughtful addition.

Who doesn’t love a good, free breakfast? The Holiday Inn Express has you covered! Though we weren’t traveling with kids (our furry babies didn’t count), we still appreciated a good breakfast to start our day, and the one we had hit the spot.
The breakfast bar offered a variety of options, from scrambled eggs and omelets to biscuits and gravy, along with bacon, sausage, and turkey sausage. There were also plenty of cereals, bread, muffins, and bagels to choose from. And don’t forget the delicious cinnamon rolls!
We found the breakfast at Holiday Inn Express Sedona Arizona to be a great value, especially considering the price of dining out in the city. If you’re traveling on a budget or with a family, we’re sure you’ll love the breakfast.
