While New York City is a great place to visit throughout the year, the weather might not be so great sometimes. In such cases, indoor pools are a great way to enjoy a relaxing swim and lounge poolside after a long day of exploring, no matter the weather. That being said, indoor pools are a rarity since the Big Apple is known for its small spaces. So, when we came across hotels with indoor pool in New York City, we felt like we’d struck gold! Not only were these all great hotels, but they also ranged across budgets, ranging from ultra-luxe hotels to more affordable ones.
Moreover, they catered to all kinds of travelers, including families with kids, larger groups of adults, and even couples like us. No matter where we stayed, we loved the thoughtfully designed indoor pool areas, many connected to a wider range of wellness amenities. Here are some of the best stays in NYC with an amazing indoor pool for all months of the year.

Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards
11
We begin with the Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards, a rather special NYC hotel. That’s because it has two pools—an indoor and a seasonal outdoor one! While the outdoor terrace pool is magnificent, the 75-ft indoor saltwater pool is simply spectacular and one of the largest in the Big Apple. The pool was designed to exude comfort, especially since it boasted huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a mesmerizing ceiling. So, after a leisurely swim here, we’d take time to lounge on the plush daybeds and soak in the views to our heart’s content. But that’s not all. The indoor pool space even had cold and hot plunges, a jacuzzi, and great spa facilities. Thus, it was the complete relaxation package for unwinding in a pool hotel in Midtown.
What we loved was that we didn’t require any reservations for any of the pools, as they were open to Equinox guests/club members aged 18 years and over on a first-come, first-served basis. Are you traveling to NYC in the middle of the tourist season? Sometimes, the hotel may impose a 90-minute time limit at the pool during peak periods. The indoor pool is open 5:30 am – 9:30 pm between Mondays and Thursdays, 5:30 am – 8:30 pm on Fridays, and 7 am – 8:30 pm on the weekends.

Trump International New York

Trump International New York was one of the best-located hotels in NYC with an indoor pool. It sits right on Columbus Circle at the southwestern edge of the park and is close to all important places in the city, like Fifth Avenue, Central Park South, and Lincoln Center. So, we could easily explore all the amazing sights, especially since they sat within walking distance.
After all that exploring, we’d retreat to the hotel’s fitness center and spa wing, which boasted a 55-ft indoor saltwater pool. It sat right next to the gym, which meant that we could practice our laps just after sweating out the Big Apple calories in the gym! It allowed us to stay active, refreshed, and in shape for our long holiday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better space. Of course, the next best thing was the 6,000 sq ft Trump Spa, which offered a bevy of body treatments. Not only that, but the space also had a sauna and a wet steam room for us to unwind after all that cross-training. The best bit was that safety was taken care of, with a lifeguard always on duty, thus balancing safety and luxury.

Greenwich Hotel

Best boutique hotel with an indoor pool. Robert DeNiro’s ultra-exclusive Tribeca hotel, the Greenwich Hotel, is one of the best boutique hotels in New York City, and rightfully so. It’s home to the Shibui Spa, one of the best places to unwind and relax in the Big Apple. However, there’s one special amenity that offers competition to the spa. It’s so exclusive that unless you’re staying at this hotel, you’ll only get a 30-minute dip session when you book a spa treatment.
We’re talking about the decadent and hedonistic indoor pool at this hotel. The intimate, aqua-colored space sat inside the Shibui Spa and was perfect for unwinding. Thanks to the dim floor lamps and warm, ambient lighting, we loved the soothing, Zen-like ambiance of the space. It was very refreshing to swim here, following which we’d stretch out on the soft lounge chairs or armchairs by the pool. Since it’s part of the Shibui Spa, the pool area also has a meditation room, a yoga studio, a fitness center, a steam room, and rainfall showers. Despite being a boutique hotel, we were very impressed by the wellness facilities, especially the pool. We’re sure that discerning travelers like us will love this space.

AKA Sutton Place takes the cake in terms of location, design, and modern amenities, and the indoor pool only ups the ante. Tucked away inside this sumptuous abode on Midtown’s tree-lined streets is a fabulous 55-ft heated indoor pool, which is one of the finest in all of Manhattan. We were hit by the wow factor the minute we stepped into the indoor pool space, which is a heated one. So, we were able to enjoy a swim even when there was a chill in the air.
The low mood lights right over the pool lit it up enough for us to get our laps after dark. After a swim, we would lounge in the armchairs, making it the perfect place to disconnect after a long day of exploring the city. The best bit? The pool was available to hotel guests and hotel guests only so that it could be accessed only with a room key. Finally, the indoor pool space also has a 24-hour Technogym that’s equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

The Chatwal, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

Yet another excellent small indoor pool lies at The Chatwal, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Midtown. While it was called the infinity saltwater lap pool, it was a plunge pool rather than a lap pool. Even then, it’s just as luxurious as it sounded, complete with moody blue lighting and mini waterfalls. Whether it was an early morning plunge or a refreshing dip in the evening, the indoor pool space calmed us down. This is especially more so since the poolscape was decorated with backlit wallpaper that depicted serene nature scenes. What’s more, there was also a plunge jacuzzi, making this the perfect alternative to hitting the gym. After swimming in the pool and a dip in the jacuzzi, we’d even head to the stylish spa for a treatment. The pool space is open all days of the week between 10 am and 7 pm.
“As someone who loves all and any kind of pools, the Chatwal’s indoor poolscape space was a delight.”

The Marmara Park Avenue

Park Avenue is one of the most luxurious addresses in NYC, and the Marmara Park Avenue is one of the best hotels in the neighborhood. It’s one of the only hotels in Manhattan to have its very own onsite wine bar! But what made the hotel far more interesting for us was the subterranean pool, which was our perfect escape far from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The aesthetic pool sat in a pretty space with an idyllic atmosphere where we could let go of all our worries and enjoy a refreshing dip. The water was so crystal clear and tempting that we’d enjoy a dip even at the end of a long day of exploring the city. This indoor lap pool sits inside the wellness center, which also has a 24-hour fitness center and a sauna. The best bit? The pool was available only to hotel guests and even had a lifeguard.
The pool and the Turkish hammam/spa are open every day from 7 am to 9 pm. The Fitness Center is open 24hrs with key access.

The Peninsula New York
5
The Peninsula New York is one of the best hotels with an indoor pool in New York City. The hotel is undisputedly an international hospitality icon, and the indoor pool space is no less. Part of the spa, the pool sits in a blissful oblong glass-enclosed space, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows and many outdoor-inspired wicker chairs. It’s a perennial illusion of sunny times, which is interesting considering the pool is open throughout the year. What’s more, it was an indoor heated swimming pool, which meant that we could enjoy a swim any time of the year without worrying about the temperature or the weather.
Since it welcomed all ages and had a shallow end, it was also very popular with families with kids when we were staying here. It also made it one of the most accessible hotel indoor pools in the city. After a swim, we could sprawl on the loungers (the hotel provided pool towels too), sit back, relax, and enjoy the views over the city. The pool sits on the 22nd floor, is open from 7 am to 7 pm every day, and also has poolside dining from the Naturally Peninsula Dining Programme.

Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown

Best indoor pool with spa. The Four Seasons brand is known for its luxury and timeless class and luxury, and its NYC location is no exception. The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown boasted one of the most luxurious indoor lap pools we’d ever seen. The 75-ft indoor lap pool is a part of the decadent third-floor Four Seasons Spa and boasts soaring windows right next to it that flood the poolscape with natural light. What’s more, there were plush poolside lounge chairs for us to unwind and relax after a swim right there.
The Four Seasons happens to be one of the best spa hotels in New York City because we could pair our swimming sessions with a wide range of spa services, including IV therapies. The pool, which is kid-friendly, is also adjacent to a steam room. Wrapping up the wellness facilities is the 24-hour fitness center, making the Four Seasons’ wellness space the complete package. Did we mention that the pool was kid-friendly too? Yep.

Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York

It isn’t often that one will come across a Côte d’Azur–inspired indoor pool in the middle of New York City, but the Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York is exactly that. The decadent heated pool, which was open only to us hotel guests, was the centerpiece of this relaxing space. So, we could take a dip in “La Piscine,” as it’s called, anytime throughout the year. It even boasted a checkered floor underneath the crystal clear waters, making it one of the most beautiful indoor pools we’d seen in the city. This space was surrounded by white-and-chrome cabanas, Balinese beds, and chairs, where we could unwind after a swim or a leisurely dip.
While we were there, we also checked out the other parts of the wellness space, including the fitness center with pilates and yoga rooms. Since we wanted to treat ourselves, we even booked massages at Spa De La Mer. So, if you want to bask in the lap of luxury and unwind in a dreamlike escape, all in the name of pool romping, then staying at the Baccarat is one of the best experiences you’ll have.
Don’t miss seeing the rest of the hotel, which is a Baccarat crystal dream world.

Mandarin Oriental, New York

Best indoor pool for kids. The Mandarin Oriental is a staple of the hotel scene in NYC, and the 75-foot indoor lap pool was its highlight. Offering sweeping views of the Hudson River from the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, the poolscape was always flooded with natural light, whether day or night. We loved swimming after dark, with the twinkling lights of Manhattan making for one of the most memorable swimming environs ever! Besides the fact that the pool is heated, the space was also surrounded by lounge chairs, benches, and daybeds. So, we could relax after a swimming session at any time.
But what made this one of the best indoor pools to stay with the children was that since the pool was designed for everyone, from professional swimmers to kids, they even allowed us to book one-hour beginners’ swimming lessons for kids! So, while the kids had a blast and also learned to swim, we got to unwind and enjoy some much-needed time. All in all, this is an excellent family hotel with an indoor pool in the Big Apple.

Park Hyatt New York

Occupying the top spot – and a worthy one – on this list is the indoor swimming pool at Park Hyatt New York, which is like no other. The saltwater pool, which is one of NYC’s few saltwater swimming pools, allowed for next-level relaxation.
We loved the 25th-floor indoor poolscape, which was three stories high with soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. So, the stunning natural light would filter in through the windows, whether day or night, dimming even the skyline views in comparison to the extravagant vibe indoors. What makes the pool at Park Hyatt so special is that it’s one of those rare amenities that also combines the luxury of Spa Nalai with the pool. It’s something we didn’t find across many stays in the city! This saltwater lap pool is part of the indoor hydrotherapy area of the spa, washing all traces of tiredness at the end of a long day.
Not only that but also the hot tub and the eucalyptus steam room were nearby, making this recreational area a relaxation option for everyone. That’s why Park Hyatt occupies a prime spot among the best stays in the Big Apple with indoor pools.
