Lake Tahoe is one of the amazing natural sceneries in both California and Nevada. Many cities and towns are scattered along the shore of Lake Tahoe. One of the unique places we love to stay at is the hotels at Incline Village, which have breathtaking views of pine trees over the mountains and the lake’s crystal-clear water. Staying there is different from other locations around the lake. We enjoy skiing, swimming, and all the water activities you might think of. On the other side, the town is considered rural and it’s a perfect spot to escape the busy life of other Nevada cities and towns. Despite its simple nature, we found many luxurious hotels and lodges in the town. They’re characterized by their rustic designs and cozy atmosphere.

Red Umbrella Retreat

The Red Umbrella Retreat isn’t one of the common hotels at Incline Village Lake Tahoe, Nevada, among travelers. Yet, it’s a hidden gem. So, what does this venue have to offer? First, it’s a three-bedroom apartment. So, it’s more suitable for groups and families. Second, it has a full kitchen and a living area, so we felt at home in this venue. It’s named Red Umbrella after the red umbrella on the balcony. It’s a cozy seating with a table, chairs, and an umbrella overlooking the lined street with pine trees.
We felt private and secluded in this venue. We also felt well-served. With a fully equipped kitchen, we could cook all our meals. Further, we had a washing machine to wash and dry our clothes. This property is made for long vacations. We could stay there for months. We loved spending time together under the red umbrella, but the heated pool was our spot in the morning. What else would we ask to relax and unwind a few days?

The Incline Lodge

Best for business trips. Staying at The Incline Lodge was a good experience we would love to repeat once more. We asked about the best place to stay around, and someone recommended this hotel. It sits at the heart of the village. Yet, it isn’t the closest to the beach. Since the Village isn’t large and we already had a car, this wasn’t a problem for us. We could park our car in the free parking and ride to wherever we want every day. The hotel arranges ski adventures every day. We booked with them, and it was hassle-free.
The vibes, similar to all other hotels there, are mountainous. The interior design had modern touches blended with an overall wooden decor. It’s something similar to retro-modern styles. The accommodation options range from standard rooms to quadruple rooms. Some come with a balcony, and this is what we chose so as not to miss the view. Club Tahoe Resort

Best value for money. At Club Tahoe Resort, we enjoyed a fairly-priced accommodation in a good location. We know that most Lake Tahoe hotels and resorts are expensive, but this is a budget-friendly option. Since we were a group, we booked this two-bedroom loft that accommodates up to six. Sharing the rate between six people made it possible to stay for a week without breaking the bank. We didn’t stay there for the price only. We loved the place, and what’s more, we loved the people operating the place. They were so helpful.
As for the amenities and facilities offered, we had a kitchen with all the kitchenware and equipment we needed, a washer, and a tumble dryer. The venue also included a billiard table and BBQ equipment. The location wasn’t the nearest to Lake Tahoe, but we could enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and pine trees from our loft. We reached the lake in minutes. Thus, it wasn’t a deal breaker for us.

Hyatt Vacation Club

Best amenities. One of the best features of Hyatt Vacation Club is the location. All of the hotels we’ve mentioned here are near Lake Tahoe, yet this hotel stands on a hill, so the view from above is splendid. Our stay there was in the winter season. Snow was covering the place offering a gorgeous picturesque view from our room’s balcony. Since it was winter, we didn’t miss the chance to enjoy skiing in nearby locations such as the Diamond Peak. It was too close, and there was also a large golf course. Skiing is available most of the year; if you’re traveling in spring, here is what you should wear for spring skiing.
Apart from nearby entertainment options, the hotel has some sort of fun, too. The outdoor pool is a nice option whether to swim or to lounge by. Our room was inviting to stay in most of the time. We had a suite, so, it was wide and it included a kitchen. The interior matched the rustic design of the whole place. The fireplace added a cozy touch to the room. Want to see photos? North Lake Lodges & Villas

We felt so much welcomed in the North Lake Lodges & Villas. This venue is a popular one among families and groups, especially the villas. Each villa accommodates up to eight people, so it’s a great group option. What’s more, there are studios and one-bedroom lodges for less number of guests. We were a group, so we stayed in a villa with many amenities and facilities. We felt we were staying at a luxurious hotel. Back at our villa, we had a small terrace where we could enjoy our morning coffee. The villa is equipped with a full kitchen and premium toiletries. We think that studios also have kitchens. Nearby, we could do different activities such as skiing or swimming according to the weather. Before we booked, we arranged our trip with the venue’s hosts, who were very helpful. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort

Most Luxurious. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort isn’t just a nice hotel to stay at. It’s a casino, resort, and spa. We found everything we needed inside this hotel. If you stay here, you won’t need to go outside. We usually start the day with an hour or more in the heated pool during our stay. It was so relaxing and the hot tubs are more relaxing. We pampered ourselves with a package of massage and spa performed by a very professional staff. In the afternoon, we had our normal workout in the fitness center, but this time with a great view of pine trees and mountains.
We didn’t have to search for restaurants or bars outside. The hotel has on-site restaurants serving delicious food and bars for cocktails and hot drinks. We didn’t only enjoy the drinks there but also the setting. The bar by the pool was our favorite.
If you’re a family, you should book any of the suites available there. They’re spacious, and there is plenty of space for an extra bed or a cot. Otherwise, a lakeside room is perfect in terms of amenities and view. To reach the nearest beach, we drove for a few minutes. We could see the beach from the upper-floor rooms. For something different, we drove to a close trail to enjoy hiking around the pine trees.

Where to Stay in Lake Tahoe?
This question has no single answer. We stayed in the southern part of our first visit to Lake Tahoe. This is the most popular area and the one with most hotels and entertainment options. Hotels there are always fully booked, so you must book soon.
We stuck to the southern part of the lake for some years, but we decided we had to explore other areas around, and we did. The Northern part of the lake really has beautiful shores and magnificent sceneries. There are entertainment options there, too. The Incline Village is one of our favorite areas there.
