Villa Dubrovnik exceeded every expectation we had. Located just a short 15-minute stroll from Old Town, it offered the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility for our evening forays into the city. The staff went above and beyond by organizing a private walking tour and a stunning boat excursion to Korčula, and both experiences were unforgettable. We especially loved utilizing the hotel’s signature wooden motorboat to cruise past the historic city walls.
The hospitality here is world-class. Whether we were chatting with the bartenders or checking in at the front desk, the service was always impeccable. A major highlight of our downtime was the Villa Spa. It boasts a soothing sauna and an indoor pool, which features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to the fresh air.
As for the accommodation, our Romantiko Suite was breathtaking. We always kept the sliding glass windows open at night to fall asleep to the sound of the Adriatic waves. The room was thoughtfully appointed with high-end La Bottega bath products and a quality espresso machine, which added a touch of luxury to our stay. Hotel Brown Beach House & Spa, one of the best hotels in Dalmatian Coast Croatia, is known for its iconic black-and-white tiled pool. However, after staying there, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s more than a pretty backdrop for Instagram. The reception team welcomed us like royalty, and we were even handed a chilled glass of Prosecco at check-in.
Location-wise, it couldn’t have been better for us. The hotel has gorgeous views, and the walk into Trogir’s Old Town took us about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. That made popping into town during the day effortless and heading out for dinner in the evenings a breeze, without being right in the middle of the crowds.
Our room was another highlight. It was spacious, gorgeous, and had one of those beds you immediately sink into and never want to leave. The crisp, high-quality linens made for excellent sleep, and the bathroom was equally impressive, especially the powerful, walk-in shower.

The last time we were in Trogir, we stayed at Villa Lucica, and honestly, it was one of those places we keep comparing other stays to. Our four-night stay at Posh Residence Luxury Suites was a five-star experience, and a huge part of that came down to the people. The team made us feel completely looked after the second we arrived. The location is quiet and residential, which we actually appreciated after busy sightseeing days. There are several great restaurant options nearby, and the hotel staff were more than happy to make reservations for us. The Old Town is about a 30-minute walk if you’re feeling energetic, or you can grab a taxi if you would rather save your steps. One thing worth noting is the communal open bin system in the area.
Our suite was on the lower ground floor and didn’t have its own outdoor space, but this was never a downside for us. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas around the pool and in reception, so we always found a spot to relax. The poolside area itself is calm, making it easy to spend an afternoon there.

The two elegant, Italian-style villas that make up the hotel have been standing proudly on the harbor for more than a century. Being right on the waterfront, it’s hard to imagine a better location. We were only steps away from the marina, and we loved watching ferries glide in and yachts bob around all day.
This hotel boasts just over 50 rooms and suites, which we really appreciated. The design is nothing short of contemporary, with glass separating the bedroom and bathroom and oversized film stills splashed across the walls.
Food and nightlife are a big part of the Riva experience. We spent hours at the restaurant, which serves seafood, local fish, and Mediterranean classics. The bar terrace was also one of our favorite spots, perfect for a drink while watching the parade of yachts and people pass by. As night falls, it turns into one of Hvar’s hottest hangouts, with DJs spinning late and a fashionable crowd rolling in, especially with the famous Carpe Diem bar right next door.

Situated in a former 19th-century monastery, the Almayer Art & Heritage Hotel is a dream destination for those looking for a quiet escape. This luxury hotel in Zadar is strictly adults-only and has only a few rooms. Hence, the atmosphere feels incredibly intimate and intentional. What truly elevated our experience beyond the typical heritage stay, though, was the presence of a dedicated on-site art gallery. It makes the hotel even more sophisticated.
The accommodations at Almayer are scattered across two historic structures, each offering a different aesthetic. While the original building (once a military hospital) houses nine minimalist, understated guest rooms, the 1914 annex features a moodier palette of teals and forest greens. During our stay in one of the suites, we were particularly impressed by how the decor centers around original pieces, such as a captivating large-scale oil painting by Carsten Weck.
The heart of the hotel is undoubtedly its central courtyard. It was our favorite spot to unwind between excursions! Staying at Marmont Heritage Hotel is like being dropped right into the soul of Split. We loved that we were tucked into the Old Town, literally a minute from Diocletian’s Palace. One step outside of this adults-only hotel and we were surrounded by history, cafés, and those narrow stone streets that make Split so charming. With the port, bus, and train stations just a short walk away, plus Bačvice Beach about 10 minutes on foot, the hotel made exploring easy.
We booked the Superior Double Room, and it was classic at its finest. Think warm wood floors, rich walnut furniture, and a spacious layout. The air conditioning was adjustable, the bed was super comfortable, and we appreciated the little extras like the minibar and a solid workspace. The bathroom also had good lighting and a hairdryer.
Every morning, we had a blast because of the breakfast served inside the restaurant’s gorgeous 15th-century walls. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and the good coffee. We also made sure to have a drink at the lounge bar’s open terrace, sipping drinks while looking out over the Old Town rooftops as the sun went down.

After a good night’s sleep, we always started our day with a generous breakfast at the Korta Restaurant. The menu leans into local flavors and fresh seafood, and you can tell there’s pride behind every dish.
Once we were done exploring the town, we headed back to the hotel and spent our time at the bar for sunset drinks. When we wanted to fully switch off, the spa area, featuring a pool, a sauna, and a steam bath, did the trick.

Best Rooftop. Only a few compare to the charm of Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel. Located right on the harbor, the hotel manages to feel both modern and perfectly at home among Hvar’s neoclassical charm. We loved spending sunset at the rooftop bar, drink in hand, soaking up panoramic views over the Old Town and marina.
The hotel has 59 rooms, and we were lucky enough to have one facing the harbor. During our stay, we also made sure to escape to the rooftop indoor pool, floating around while gazing out over the sea. It was peak relaxation! Add in the spa, with its generous massage menu, and we were dangerously close to losing track of time altogether.
Food and nightlife are a big part of the Adriana experience, too. We had dinner at Val Marina, where Mediterranean dishes are served with front-row harbor views. Later, we checked out the Top Bar, which fully lives up to its reputation as the place to be in Hvar, buzzing well into the night.
