New Orleans is a famous city with lots of things to do all year round. With that said, we traveled there several times. We stayed in different districts as we wanted to get the experience of everything there. One of the districts we adored is the Garden District. We enjoyed our stays in hotels in New Orleans in Garden District as they were close to the city center and yet offered a different experience.
The neighborhood is quiet and charming with stunning mansions and cottages all around, forming an amazing mix of tall and short buildings surrounded by lavish greens and oak trees. We know that famous movie stars have their homes there. We explored every inch of the district enjoying the greenery and the old family restaurants offering local food. During the Mardi Gras, the festive vibes are unbeatable. You can feel these vibes wherever you walk. If you love this mix of quietness interspersed with some nice noise, this district is where you should look for hotels on your next trip. Don’t make any effort; we already have a list of the best hotels in this district ready for you. Let’s check them out.

Terrell House
11
Let’s kick off our list with this special venue, it’s the Terrell House. We say it’s special as it’s different from other hotels we stayed in. It’s a bed and breakfast property with room service and other facilities. They have a different decor manifesting the cultural mix of New Orleans. It looks like a historic building with modern touches. We didn’t find toiletries in the bathroom, but they provided towels. The best thing is that it was spotless and everything was clean.
The venue offers various rooms and accommodations. Our stay was in an apartment with two bedrooms and a balcony. The view from the balcony was splendid. Not all rooms have a balcony, but the view wasn’t to miss. We also had a kitchenette in our room. There are other cheaper rooms if you have a limited budget. We should speak about the breakfast there. They care for special diets, so, everyone can find something to eat. They’re attentive to their guests’ requests and needs or the venue’s design.

Jazzed On Jackson

We couldn’t skip the Jazzed On Jackson House, although it isn’t the typical hotel we were up for in NOLA’s Garden District. The Guesthouse offered all the facilities and amenities of hotels and many more. We had a fully equipped kitchen, including a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, toaster, and coffee machine. We could prepare the most mouth-watering meals ever. Plus, washing our clothes wasn’t an issue. We felt like we were staying at our own home. What’s more, the house was so clean, and the furniture looked new, as if we were the first people to stay there.
The house consists of three bedrooms. It can accommodate up to six adults, and they have different rates according to the number of people booking. We felt like we made a very good bargain by booking this house. The living room was very cozy, and the couch was more than comfortable. We had maximum privacy in our house, even in the backyard. It was so enjoyable that we could stay there all day. Yet, we had many other things to do in New Orleans.

Hotel Tonnelle

Hotel Tonnelle became one of the highly-rated and best hotels in NOLA’s Garden District, so we decided to give it a try. We stayed there for a couple of days, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with our accommodation. The location is superb, just a minute from the nearest bus stop. Reaching the airport from the hotel was the easiest; we didn’t need a shuttle service. We used public transportation, and it was convenient. However, if you want a closer accommodation to the airport, we have a list of the best hotels in New Orleans near the airport.
This property is surrounded by many venues, such as shops, dining options, and bars. However, we seldom needed those as a mini-market and a restaurant were on-site. Moreover, the outdoor seating area was better than any coffee shop nearby. Let’s talk about our room; it was spacious with a large window overlooking the street. It had modern, comfy furniture and nice lights. If you’re a family, you can book a family room and enjoy this non-smoking facility. They do a great job of ensuring all their guests are convenient.

Hotel Henrietta

Hotel Henrietta is one of our favorite hotels in New Orleans this neighborhood, and it’s easy to see why. The hotel is relatively new; everything there is sparkling. Even more, the toiletries were of premium quality. Luxurious rooms with modern furniture, a balcony with stunning views, a vital location at the heart of touristic hotspots, and friendly staff who are willing to leave the best impressions. What else would we need for a great vacation at NOLA?
Even more, they have various rooms to suit different budgets. The common thing is that all the rooms and suites are spacious. The design of the rooms was super stylish. This blue-brown color blend was so convenient for our eyes. The highlight of our stay was the wonderful garden view. We could stay on our balcony for hours, enjoying the atmosphere and lush gardens. Above all, the free parking and the electric vehicle charging station round up the facilities there.

The Quisby

Best for entertainment. We didn’t believe a hostel could offer services and entertainment options like those we found at The Quisby. Our stay in a queen room with a double bed was so enjoyable. We didn’t try other shareable rooms, but we’re sure they’re the same quality and cleanliness as our room. Each room had a private bathroom, air conditioning, a TV, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms at lower rates have shared bathrooms. If you want to cut your budget, this venue is highly recommended.
At night, we could do a lot rather than explore the city. We either spend the whole night at the nightclub enjoying the music or sitting in the lounge area sipping a fresh drink. Other times, they held live entertainment inside the venue itself, these were so wonderful. People there treat everyone in a very respectful manner. We felt at home in this small hotel. Other guests felt the same too; you can see the real reviews on their official website.

Hotel Saint Vincent

After staying at Hotel Saint Vincent, we’re confused about how to categorize this property. It has the same intimate vibes as boutique hotels. It’s luxurious in some way, and our experience there was impeccable. On the other hand, it isn’t expensive despite all the facilities there. We just love it, and we’re sure you’ll love your stay there. Some of the facilities there include free speedy WiFi, free parking, and access to a nearby health club where we treated ourselves to a professional massage session.
The room interior blends modern furniture with some classic details, offering a new-classic design. The rooms are small but enough for comfy nights. Our favorite two spots there were the outdoor garden and the pool. The pool is heated, so it’s suitable for chill days. On the other side, we loved staying in the outdoor garden while drinking our morning coffee to enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the place. Moreover, we had signature cocktails in the lounge bar. We didn’t expect that such a small hotel could offer tasteful food and drinks.

Henry Howard Hotel

Henry Howard Hotel is the best hotel in NOLA’s Garden District when it comes to serenity and peace of mind. We love staying in the Garden District area to enjoy the beautifully lined streets with trees shading historic buildings. This hotel is located in a wonderful spot overlooking an amazing view of the district. When we were up to some hustle and bustle, we headed to the French Quarter, which was minutes away. I couldn’t be more satisfied with such an accommodation.
Aside from the location, this venue looks beautiful from the outside and inside. The rooms were clean, and the beds were plush. If you’re a family, you’ll enjoy your stay here. We also have a list of the best family hotels in New Orleans; you might want to check it out. But if you want special accommodation, check the reviews of Henry Howard on the official website. Don’t forget to check the Garden District tour they offer as well. We booked with them, and it was so enjoyable and informative.

Hampton Inn

Most family-friendly. Hampton Inn has a great location in the Garden District and is very close to the city center. We were looking for a budget-friendly hotel for a group of four people. We didn’t want separate rooms, so we went for a studio in this hotel. This was one of the best decisions ever, as the studio was so comfortable and ideal for our group. Moreover, we could accompany our pet friends in their pet-friendly rooms. There are different types of rooms, so, check them all before booking.
The building looks antique. We thought it would look old from the inside too, but the rooms were very modern. Staying there gave us the chance to indulge in several activities. We enjoyed lounging by the pool which is kid-friendly too. The jacuzzi was so relaxing. What’s more, we had breakfast every day there, and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel makes sure that everyone in the family feels special and is well-rested. Check their official website to learn about all the facilities in different rooms.

Historic Streetcar Inn

Best location. Love historical buildings? You’ll surely love the Historic Streetcar Inn. This venue is a small boutique hotel with a very premium location between the Garden District and the city center. It’s one of the most affordable best hotels in Garden District, New Orleans, yet it isn’t low-quality at all. Nothing inside our room looked outdated. The black furniture looked bold. It made the best contrast with the white walls. Further, the towels, bed linens, and other toiletries were clean and of good quality.
“We had a very limited budget for this trip. This hotel is the cheapest we could find with the best facilities and amenties. It’s way beyond what we expected. Even our room looked elegant. It’s the best bargain we could make ever.”
WOW Travel
What would make us get back here again is the location. We walked a few minutes to the nearest restaurant. We also reached the interesting Uptown Historic District in minutes by car. Even our trip from the airport to the hotel was very convenient. The area there is very safe, so we could stay up late in nearby coffee shops and bars and then walk to the hotel.
Convinced about this hotel? You’ll also like these historic hotels in New Orleans; they all have the same historical vibes.

Pontchartrain Hotel

Best value for money. Another amazing option is the Pontchartrain Hotel. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in all aspects. We knew we were up to something special from the first moment we arrived there. The exterior of the hotel looked marvelous, especially the two huge trees on both sides of the front door. Once we stepped in, we were welcomed by the front desk staff, who were very professional and helpful. They didn’t make us wait for a long time although we arrived before the check-in time. They were keen on giving us real information about the Garden District and where to dine there.
Further, we loved the simple and chic furniture of our room. The amenities and toiletries were good and just as expected. What’s better, the rooftop bar has stunning views of the gardens around. Nights on the rooftop bar were unforgettable. We also had the chance to try the food at the restaurant; it was delicious. They offer complimentary breakfast and paid lunch and dinner. The best thing about our accommodation there is that we didn’t pay a lot but got everything.

Maison Saint Charles

Maison Saint Charles is, so far, the best hotel in Garden District New Orleans. This hotel will blow your mind away with its lovely exterior and spacious interior at the best rates ever. Plus, everything is walkable from the hotel, be it bars, restaurants, and other hotspots. But who would need a bar or a restaurant when they can eat mouth-watering fresh breakfast at the hotel and enjoy cold drinks by the pool every day? Still bored? Use the speedy internet connection throughout the hotel to watch your favorite movies or take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool.
We stayed in a large room with a full kitchenette so we could store our leftovers in the fridge and heat them using the microwave. We bought quick snacks and prepared them in our room on other days. The room had a sense of serenity we didn’t experience at any other hotels. Perhaps the light color palette they used for the furniture and decorations was the reason. All other amenities of traditional hotels were available, and they had a small gym, too. Before calling it a day, enjoy your morning coffee there. It became a routine during our stay in New Orleans.
