Let’s kick off this list with Casa Aldeia Paraty. There’s a gated entrance, which gave us a nice sense of security, and a small front office where someone was always around and happy to help. Parking is available on-site, too, which is a big plus in Paraty.
The location is honestly one of the best parts of staying here. We barely used our car because everything is within walking distance. It was an easy stroll to the historic center with all the shops, cafés, and restaurants, and we could also walk to the nearby beaches without any hassle. Being able to explore Paraty on foot made the whole experience feel more immersive.
If we were to rate our breakfast, it would be a 10 out of 10. Each morning, there was a generous spread with fresh fruit, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, coffee, and juice laid out and ready. We especially liked that we could order eggs made to order. They also offer filtered water, which was super convenient, or you can buy bottled water and other drinks if you prefer.

Quinta Brasilis Boutique Hotel Paraty is such a special hotel. Imagine, every single room at this hotel is named after a Brazilian writer, with a book to match. It feels perfect for Paraty’s cultural soul and its connection to FLIP. Everything there feels made with care, from the cozy details to the warm service that made us feel welcome at every moment.
The experience was smooth even before we arrived, with helpful tips and optional “Moments” packages you can book ahead. Check-in was quick, and the location couldn’t be better for resting. We were just five minutes from the Historic Center, near Jabaquara Beach, in a quiet, green neighborhood with no nightlife noise. We loved the peaceful vibe and the playful marmosets that showed up to steal our hearts.
Furthermore, the breakfast was easily one of the best we’ve had. We had tons of options like fresh breads, cakes, eggs, tapiocas, and hot dishes. Afternoon tea was also included and felt like a full buffet, not just a quick snack. Finally, our Jorge Amado suite was spacious and had a whirlpool tub, and having breakfast served in our room one morning was the cherry on top.

Words barely do O Portalzinho justice. Our flight to Paraty was so tiring, especially because we were under the weather, but somehow all of that melted away once we walked through the property. The lush gardens, the quiet, the overall energy of the place instantly slowed us down and made us feel like we could finally breathe again.
We booked the Refúgio Encantado room, and it was fantastic. Everything was gorgeous, but the balcony completely stole our hearts. It became our go-to spot for slow mornings with coffee and peaceful evenings watching the sky change colors. If you’re deciding whether to splurge on the room, trust us and do it.
What about the service? Top-notch! The staff was attentive, and Brandy in particular made a huge impact on our experience. She really took the time to understand what kind of trip we wanted and helped shape our days around that. Thanks to her, we ended up on an amazing boat tour around Paraty and even visited a cachaça distillery.

Best Hospitality. We loved everything about our stay at Boutique Hotel Carpe Diem. From the moment we stepped into our room, it was clear how much care goes into the details. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and incredibly comfortable. Think cozy bed, fluffy pillows, crisp sheets, and towels that smelled wonderfully fresh.
Mornings were a treat thanks to a delicious breakfast. Don’t worry, it’s far from the generic breakfast that you’re thinking of. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, afternoon tea or coffee was waiting for us every day, always accompanied by a cake. Additionally, the hotel also boasts a stunning pool area, and we really appreciated the beach towels being provided.
Location-wise, Carpe Diem couldn’t be better. It’s just a short walk from the historic center, so everything is close. But what truly made this place special for us was the hospitality. The team’s attention started before we even arrived and never faded until we left. When we arrived, we were even greeted with a handwritten welcome note, chocolates, glasses, and a bottle of champagne!

We’re glad we decided to stay at Pousada Casa dos Autores. Being just a short walk from the historic center made exploring super easy, and coming back to such a peaceful, cozy space was the perfect balance. Our Superior Suite wasn’t only gorgeous but also very comfortable, and the cleanliness was truly top-notch.
What really made the experience stand out, though, was the people. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or attentive. Tainá and Duda were amazing. They were always smiling, ready to help, and full of great local tips that made our days even better. Every single person we interacted with really cared.
And then there’s the food. Breakfast was amazing every morning, with everything fresh, tasty, and made with that homemade touch. We also appreciated the afternoon coffee and tea, complete with cakes and toast. Who can say no to that?

Pousada Antígona is one of the coziest options on this list. Located in the historic area, we were right next to the Pontal bridge, where everything is happening, but not so deep in the center that it becomes chaotic. That little bit of distance actually works in our favor, especially because the hotel has its own parking lot.
One of our favorite parts was the setting. Every morning, we would wake up to a stunning view and head out for a walk along the canal toward Pontal Beach. And when it came time to eat, we barely had to think, as some of the best restaurants in town are just a quick three-minute stroll away. Everything feels close, easy, and walkable.
Breakfast deserves its own round of applause. It was homemade in the best possible way. The cakes are baked right there, the savory options are made in-house, and even the pancakes taste like they just came off the griddle. Add to that the spotless cleanliness of the rooms, and the whole experience just felt comfortable.

Best for Bookworms. We have to recommend Pousada Literária de Paraty as well. This charming hotel is set inside a beautiful old colonial mansion, with its buildings wrapped around a lush garden and a serene central pool. If your trip includes reading a book under a tree, this is the place to be. Every corner here felt tropical, including our room. It had wooden floors, a clean modern look, and pops of warm color that kept it from feeling too minimalist.
What really sets this place apart is its deep connection to books and culture. Literature is woven into everything here, and it’s no surprise that the hotel hosts FLIP, Paraty’s renowned literary festival, every year. We spent a lot of time in the library, which has shelves lined with more than a thousand books and a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. There’s even a sister bookshop just down the street. When we wanted to unwind, the spa delivered.
Mornings were a highlight, too. We had our breakfast by the pool, though some days we chose to enjoy it privately on our balcony. Food in general is clearly taken seriously here. The on-site restaurant, Quintal de Letras, was one of our favorite dining spots in Paraty. The menu puts a modern spin on local flavors and ingredients, and everything we tried was prepared nicely and tasted amazing.

The hotel is set in a preserved 18th-century building right on Largo do Rosário, and you can really feel its history. When we were there, we were in awe of the thick stone walls, the exposed wooden beams, and the charmingly uneven floors. The on-site restaurant, Pippo, also took us to the past, with a fun, retro 1960s vibe and vintage photos lining the walls.
We booked the Master Suite, and it was charming in every sense of the word. We loved the Brazilian artwork, the huge king-sized bed dressed in crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, and the pillow menu. Everything we needed was there. We also had a balcony that overlooked the garden, but many rooms face Paraty’s historic streets, which would be just as atmospheric.
One of the best things about Sandi Hotel is its location. We could walk just about everywhere, whether that meant wandering Paraty’s cobblestone streets or heading to Praia do Cais, which is only a few minutes away. Boat tours to the surrounding islands leave from the nearby harbor, making day trips effortless. The hotel also offers a complimentary guided city tour.

Casa Mar Paraty sits just outside the action, a few minutes up the coast, perched above a quiet fishing village. Instead of waves crashing at the doorstep, we got sweeping views over the bay, dotted with tiny green islands that glow at sunrise and sunset.
Casa Mar itself is understated, and that’s exactly the charm. There are only eight rooms, so you don’t have to worry about crowds. The infinity pool was our favorite spot, especially in the late afternoon when the light softens, and the water seems to merge with the sea below. Add a small bar for sunset drinks, and it felt like we had everything we needed within arm’s reach. It was intimate, calm, and stylish.
When we wanted adventure, we would just head down the hill. There’s a beach there, and you can swim, kayak, and do anything you want. When we were there, the beach was immaculately clean and not as crowded as we thought it would be.

Set in the heart of Paraty, this boutique hotel nails effortless luxury with a warm personality. In fact, it’s one of the most thoughtful hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We were given our own Casa Turquesa Havaianas to wear around the hotel, and they were neatly stored in a basket at reception.
Since this is a boutique hotel, don’t expect hundreds of room options. There are just eight rooms, all bright, calm, and styled with white tones and subtle color accents. Ours had wide-opening windows overlooking the charming rooftops, polished wooden floors, and a super-comfy bed dressed in crisp custom linens with a dreamy mosquito net. We also loved the small touches scattered throughout, like the beach bags, towels, hats, and umbrellas.
The shared spaces are just as lovely. The central pool, surrounded by greenery, was where we spent our downtime, and the cozy library is ideal for travelers who love to chill with a book and a cup of tea. Every afternoon, we were treated to tea, coffee, juice, and homemade cake. They tasted so good! Breakfast was equally memorable, with homemade granola, fresh fruit, breads, pastries, cheeses, and a different cake each day.

This place is around a 10-15 minute drive away from the historic city center. From the very start, the receptionist took the time to walk us through how everything worked, asked about our preferences, and made us feel cared for.
One of our favorite parts of the day was breakfast, which is included and served in a bright, open area that doubles as a bar. Nothing beats sipping coffee while overlooking the pool with its little waterfall and surrounding deck. Parking here is free, and the common areas really encourage you to slow down and enjoy the space. There’s also a sauna and two hot tubs perfect for unwinding, and even a small gym with views of the pool (again).
Now, let’s talk about our villa, the highlight of our stay. We were speechless! Imagine having a private pool on the second floor, but with a glass floor that looks down into the bedroom below. Amazing, right? It was luxurious and fun at the same time.
