Ravello In was such a great find. This hotel is right in the middle of Duomo Piazza, and you really can’t beat the location. We loved being able to walk straight out the door and have restaurants, cafes, and shops all around us. The place itself is spotless and modern, but still cozy and welcoming. It’s also family-friendly, which made things feel easy.

Our bright, purple Double Room was bigger than we expected, with good air conditioning and a fun bonus: a shower that changes colors! The highlight, though, was definitely the balcony. It looked right out over the square, and we enjoyed sitting there in the late afternoon just watching the buzz of Ravello go by. After all, Ravello is one of the most beautiful places on the Amalfi Coast that you must visit. The communal fridge was a nice addition, too, as it was fully stocked and handy for quick drinks or snacks.

Moreover, Emilia, the host, really made the stay special. She’s friendly, patient, and always ready with great local tips. Whether we had questions about nearby sights or just needed a restaurant suggestion, she had it covered.

Monte Brusara Relais

We were really looking forward to our stay at Monte Brusara Relais, tucked up on the hill above Ravello. When we arrived, everything was covered in fog, so we couldn’t see much, but the property itself was clean and quiet, and it came with actual parking (a big bonus on the Amalfi Coast). Luckily, the fog cleared later that evening, and the views turned out to be every bit as stunning as we had hoped.

The hosts were great! They were easy to communicate with and quick to help with anything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was served on an enclosed patio with huge windows, so we got to enjoy those same views while eating. The food was fresh, and honestly, that view made everything taste better. There’s also a bus stop right outside that makes it super easy to get to the center of Ravello without worrying about parking or navigating those narrow roads.

We spent some time by the pool, which was just as amazing as the photos online. No matter where you stand on the property, the scenery is incredible. And we can’t forget the resident cat, who wandered around like he owned the place. He was so sweet and just added to the charm.

Le Perle d’Italia

Le Perle d’Italia may be your perfect base in Ravello. This place is just a few minutes from the main square, so we could easily walk everywhere. But that wasn’t shocking. What surprised us was how big our room actually was, complete with a super comfortable bed and a nice, clean bathroom. It had everything we needed and wanted.

Breakfast was one of the highlights. We would sit facing a lovely garden and enjoy a proper spread consisting of strong coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, croissants, ham, cheese, and more. It was such a nice way to start the day. Everything was simple and well done, just how you would want it on vacation.

What stood out the most, though, was the staff. Sonia at breakfast was always friendly and welcoming, and Antonella was an absolute star. She helped us with local tips, tours, transfers, and basically anything you can think of. Her knowledge of Ravello and the surrounding area was amazing, and she genuinely cared that we had a good time.

Hotel Parsifal – Antico Convento del 1288

Best Budget. If your budget is rather limited but you still want to have a great stay, check out Hotel Parsifal – Antico Convento del 1288. The hotel sits in a peaceful spot just under 10 minutes’ walk from the main square. The building, once a 13th-century convent, has two wings connected by an old cloister and overlooks the Amalfi Coast and sea below.

The outdoor terrace is the star here, with sweeping views that make every coffee and glass of wine better. There’s also a small rooftop solarium, a garden, a bar, and a sitting room with a TV. Although there’s no shuttle to town, we still loved the short uphill walk as it’s part of the charm.

We also loved our Double Room. It was simple but comfortable, especially for the price. The newer wing feels fresher, while the older rooms are more traditional but still cozy. All are fairly spacious, and many look out toward the coast. It’s not a luxury stay, but the views, location, and laid-back atmosphere make Hotel Parsifal a lovely base for enjoying Ravello.

Villa Margherita by Belmond

If you’re looking for a place for your family, we’re sure you’ll love Villa Margherita by Belmond. The villa can be rented out completely or divided into two suites, and both have their own charm. The upstairs suite feels relaxed and cozy, almost like a slice of the English countryside. There was a soft, airy charm to it that made us want to just unwind.

Downstairs has a completely different energy. It’s a bit richer and more European. Think deep colors, elegant old furniture, and antique maps. The Fortuny fabrics and patterned rug add a nice touch of luxury without feeling stuffy. Both suites share the same incredible views: lemon groves spilling down the hills, pastel villages dotting the coast, and the Mediterranean. We could’ve spent the entire stay just staring out those windows.

Don’t worry, as the hotel keeps you well-fed, too. Their club sandwich deserves its reputation, and yes, we had more than one. It was so peaceful and private that we wished we could’ve stayed a bit longer.

Hotel Villa Fraulo

Opened in 2010, Hotel Villa Fraulo is located just off Via San Giovanni del Toro, a quiet pedestrian lane above Ravello’s main square. There’s a lower entrance with parking, which we found super handy. From its terrace, we could see the coast stretch out toward Maiori and the glittering sea. There’s even a shady garden across from the entrance with a tall old palm tree, and within minutes you’re in the heart of town.

We have to praise the staff members. They look sharp in their uniforms but keep things friendly and easygoing. The standout feature is definitely the terrace, though, which seems to hang above the sea. Of course, it became our go-to spot whenever we need some alone time. The indoor-outdoor winter garden connecting the lounge and terrace is another nice touch, and with a spa, bar, and valet parking, the hotel covers all the essentials.

The restaurant here is cozy, centered around a 19th-century fireplace. The menu highlights local flavors, and we loved the caccala a raginato con patate (cod with potatoes), a simple but delicious house specialty. Breakfast was just as impressive, with fresh juices, pastries, and fruit tarts that set the tone for the day.

Hotel Rufolo

Best Value for Money. We loved our stay at Hotel Rufolo! This hotel in Ravello Italy is just off the main square, and from the long terrace, we had a clear view of the sea and even spotted the little village of Minori across the bay. If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful stay, we’re sure you’ll never want to leave this place.

To be completely honest with you, we didn’t expect to find a swimming pool tucked below the old Hotel Rufolo walls. There’s also a small spa with a hammam, sauna, and treatment room, which we had to use. Everything runs smoothly, thanks to Signora Rosaria Schiavo, who manages the place with impressive precision. It wasn’t surprising, considering the hotel’s been around for over 150 years.

Dinner at the hotel was enjoyable, especially with the quirky touch of a self-playing piano in the restaurant. It sounds odd, but it actually adds a nice atmosphere. The piano keys move on their own as if someone invisible is performing! The menu isn’t flashy, but the food was well-prepared and satisfying; dishes like beef tartare, seared tuna, and lemony pasta hit the spot.

Hotel Villa Cimbrone

Hotel Villa Cimbrone sits right on the edge of town, about a 10-minute walk from the main square. There are no cars here, so you can enjoy the peace. Once we arrived, we were immediately impressed with the views. We could see the coast stretch for miles in both directions.

The gardens are what make Villa Cimbrone stand out. The famous gardens are open to the public during the day, but early mornings and evenings are reserved for hotel guests, and having that space to ourselves made the experience even more special. In addition to that, there’s also a small spa, gym, and plenty of quiet spots to unwind. The staff, run by the Vuilleumier family, were happy to help organize anything from yoga sessions to transfers. We even joined the in-house barman for a mini mixology lesson.

Each of the rooms is different, and all have a classic, comfortable feel. Ours had tiled floors from Vietri, antique furniture, and a great view from the window. The minibar is complimentary, and the bathrooms come with robes, slippers, and toiletries made from herbs grown in the garden.

Hotel Villa Maria

Getting to Hotel Villa Maria is part of the Ravello experience. Expect a scenic walk through winding, sometimes steep alleyways before you arrive! We parked at the sister Hotel Giordano, where a porter took care of our luggage. Once we reached the villa, a former private home, we were rewarded with sweeping views of the mountains and the glittering sea below. It’s totally worth the short trek.

Our stay had a relaxed, welcoming feel. We joined Signor Palumbo’s popular cooking class in the organic garden, which was both fun and surprisingly hands-on. Guests can also use the pool and parking at Hotel Giordano, and the lawn at Villa Eva when it’s available. It’s great for kids or just lounging. The hotel can even arrange in-house beauty treatments or book local salon visits.

Inside, Villa Maria blends charm and comfort. The marble staircase, vaulted ceilings, and hand-painted tiles make it super charming. Our room had a partial sea view and a bright tiled bathroom, but Room No. 3 definitely stood out with its big terrace and multiple French windows. Even the modern annex offers great views.

Caruso, A Belmond Hotel

Best View. After staying at Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, it’s hard to imagine staying at a better location in Ravello. The hotel sits high above the coast on its own rocky perch, surrounded by perfectly kept terraced gardens and sweeping sea views from almost every spot. Even though it feels calm and tucked away, it’s just a 10-minute walk to Piazza del Duomo, and the hotel shuttle makes getting down to the coast super easy.

The infinity pool here is the real showstopper. Thanks to the ethereal view, it was probably one of the most memorable places we’ve ever swum. If you don’t swim, there’s still a lot to do. You can enjoy meals at one of the on-site spots or book one of the hotel’s activities. We joined a private boat trip to a nearby island, tried a cooking lesson, and even tagged along on a local wine tour.

For the best experience, we decided to book one of the suites. Most of the 50 rooms and suites here have sea views, and ours came with a small terrace. The decor had been recently refreshed, too. We loved the light colors, nice fabrics, and all the lovely details like the fluffy robes and top-quality bath products. For anyone after a bit more privacy, take things up a notch with the Villa Margherita, which offers a private garden and butler service.

Palazzo Avino

Best Luxury Boutique. Sitting on top of this list is Palazzo Avino, often called the “pink palace of Ravello.” It’s tucked away in the quieter, upper part of Ravello, which we loved. We were close enough to the main Piazza del Duomo and surrounded by grand old buildings. Better yet, the view down to the coast and across the Bay of Salerno was incredible!

What really made the stay special were the details and the people. The Avino sisters, Mariella and Attilia, run the place with both warmth and professionalism. The hotel has a ton of amenities. We had multiple restaurants, a spa, a heated pool with an underwater window, a small outdoor gym in the garden, and even a private beach club down on the rocks that we could reach by shuttle.

Moreover, our room wasn’t huge, but it was spotless and gorgeous. We even had a couple of antique pieces in the room. Only the suites have proper terraces, but even our small balcony fits two chairs, which was perfect for a glass of wine at sunset. About two-thirds of the rooms face the sea, though the best views definitely come at a premium.
