Beach Condo Mission Beach
5
Our first stay was in Beach Condo Mission Beach. It’s an entire holiday home with three bedrooms, so, it’s more suitable for families and groups. We didn’t need room service at the house as everything was well prepared. The bedrooms had clean linens, whereas the bathrooms included towels. There were two bathrooms in the house. Also, the kitchen was fully equipped with all the utensils and equipment we needed to cook as if we were home.
The place offers more than a clean comfy stay. It’s located on the South Mission Beach.
If you visited this beach before, you probably know how stunning the sand is and how clear the water is. The home was minutes from the beach. It was the perfect vacation with the beach a few steps from our door and more facilities to enjoy inside. The place offers car and bike rentals if you want to explore the area. On the other side, free parking outside the home is available if you already have your car.
Another facility we had was access to The Plunge Center. This indoor aquatic center has a large heated pool, a dry sauna, and a gym. Moreover, we learned that they give inflatable obstacle courses for kids. So many things to enjoy about your stay there.
“We didn’t want to leave as we felt at home. The host and owner of the home was so helpful making our stay more enjoyable.”

Best pet-friendly. Although it might not be the first thing you’re searching for in a hotel, we love pet-friendly hotels the most. The DoubleTree Mission Valley is one of those hotels with special rooms for furry friends. We appreciated this facility as two lovely paws were accompanying us this vacation. We had a top-floor studio suite with a nice balcony and a dining table for six people. The view was good although it didn’t overlook the ocean.
Since we mentioned the view, we must mention how practical the location was for us. It’s located in Mission Valley. If you’re familiar with San Diego’s map, you may know the area is home to the famous Fashion Valley Mall. We were so close to the mall that we walked the distance daily.
Moreover, the hotel was close to public transportation. We didn’t have to request private cars or an Uber to reach the city’s downtown. In case you have a car, this hotel is a perfect choice as the parking is secured and there are always empty spots for all guests.
Now to the best part, the hotel features two swimming pools. One of them was outdoors with a poolside cafe. It was beautiful and the drinks from the cafe were refreshing. The palm trees surrounding the pool gave it a unique style. The other pool was the indoor one. This was more cozy and suitable for chill weather. You can see photos of the fitness center and its indoor pool here on the official website.

Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Bay Downtown

Best location. Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Bay Downtown is one of many Hilton hotels in the city. This hotel enjoys the best location among all San Diego hotels with indoor pool facilities. The reason why we loved the location the most is that it’s in the middle of action. It’s a downtown hotel, so, expect everything to be within walking distance. We could walk to nearby eateries and shops. What’s more, the upper-floor rooms have a stunning bay view.
The nearest shore is minutes from the hotel. The official website lists the distance from the hotel to the most famous places in San Diego, you can check them for reference. Aside from the location, we enjoyed several facilities inside. The indoor pool was so clean as well as the provided towels. Moreover, the fitness center was acceptable. It didn’t overlook the bay yet had a nice city view from the windows. We visited it a couple of times and it was perfect.
Another feature to love about the hotel is the rooms. We had a large suite with a full kitchenette. It was wider than expected and the furniture didn’t occupy much space. The bathroom was spotless and the toiletries were replaced every morning. In general, the service there was good. You can order your food to be served in the room. However, we preferred having breakfast in the restaurant and sipping the free beverages in the lobby.

Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego La Jolla

Best food. We can’t say how much we enjoyed staying at the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego La Jolla. The indoor pool there was large. There were no lounge chairs, only normal chairs. Yet, we didn’t need such chairs as lounging on the outdoor terrace was better. After we were done with our few laps in the pool, we either sunbath in the outdoor area or headed to one of the stunning La Jolla beaches. We have a list of the best beachfront hotels in La Jolla if you love this area in San Diego.
Aside from the pool, the hotel included a variety of food options. The breakfast was the best, especially the omelet dish with many additions to try. We had a different omelet plate every day. Moreover, we enjoyed the free snacks, delights, and drinks all day long. The Indulge Restaurant and Lounge offered a nice menu as well. Whereas the bistro had cozy seating and craft cocktails. We didn’t have to search for other food options outside.
Although the hotel wasn’t the closest to La Jolla beaches, we loved the location and everything was accessible. The hotel offered free shuttle services to the airport. We could also reach the seaside easily by public transportation. The hotel had parking but we didn’t use it. We didn’t rent a car that time in San Diego and great we did as the on-site parking was a bit expensive.

Marriott Vacation Club

The Marriott Vacation Club is one of the best hotels in San Diego, considering many features. Although the indoor swimming pool wasn’t the largest, it was very convenient. The pool was always kept clean all, and the lounge chairs around the pool were comfy. Aside from the pool, we enjoyed other facilities in the hotel. The on-site restaurant serves indulgent food and desserts. We had our morning coffee from Starbucks on the ground floor every day. Further, our room had a nice coffee machine to make free coffee in the middle of the day.
Let’s talk a little bit about our room. We booked a suite for three people. It included two rooms; one bedroom and a living room. The bedroom was spacious and had a plush extra-large bed. Three people can sleep comfortably on this bed. Further, the living room had a modern sofa bed for another person. The hotel offered us a couple of other services such as luggage storage facility and laundry services. To improve our accommodation, we used the fitness center. It had modern equipment similar to everything else in the hotel. You can see photos of both the swimming pool and the fitness center on the website here. Moreover, the staff was so helpful and friendly. They were ready to organize tours in San Diego and gave us a brief about what we could do there.

Where to Stay in San Diego?
Though it’s a large city, we always stay in one of those two areas. Either La Jolla or the Downtown. Otherwise, we stay close to the airport if it is one or two nights and we want to catch an early flight. La Jolla is a relatively large neighborhood. Part of it is along the shore and it has many hotels with private beaches or beach views. This neighborhood is known for its luxurious stays, dining options, and shopping malls. We listed the best luxury hotels here if you want such an experience. The other option is the Downtown neighborhood, where we could indulge in the history of the state and visit different tourist attractions. The Gaslamp Quarter is one of our favorites in this area. It has the most ideal location, where we could walk to any destination we wanted. Also, Little Italy is a good option for food lovers who want to experience Italian cuisine made by American hands.
