Home2 Suites by Hilton Winter Garden
2
Best for Modern Travelers. The first hotel that we want to recommend is the Home2 Suites by Hilton Winter Garden. The location was really convenient for us, right off the Florida Turnpike. We found it easy to get around, and having so many dining options nearby was a definite plus. We also appreciated being close to Winter Garden Village – a quick 10-minute drive got us to plenty of shopping. Better yet, downtown Orlando was also easily accessible, just a 20-minute drive.
For our stay, we opted for the King Studio Suite, and it suited our needs perfectly. The kitchenette was a huge bonus, allowing us to prepare some of our own meals. Having a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave made it feel like a home away from home. The room itself was comfortable, with good air conditioning (essential in Florida!), a convenient tea and coffee maker, a comfortable seating area, and other standard in-room amenities.
The freebies were definitely a highlight for us. Free Wi-Fi is always appreciated, and not having to worry about parking costs was great. The free breakfast was a nice addition too, getting our day started on the right foot. We also checked out the amenities and enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool, which was refreshing. There’s also a fitness center for those who want to keep up with their workouts.
Finally, this hotel is pet-friendly! This means you don’t have to leave your favorite four-legged friend behind anymore. However, you should note that there’s a 75 USD non-refundable fee, and the weight limit of your pet is 150 lbs. Thankfully, the hotel welcomes both dogs and cats!

The Edgewater Hotel

Best for History Buffs. Charming, historic, and cozy, The Edgewater Hotel is arguably Winter Garden‘s most enchanting lodging. Originally opened in 1927, the owners have done a fantastic job of preserving the original 1926 ambiance while seamlessly integrating modern conveniences. From the antique fixtures to the original Otis elevator, every detail added to the charm. It felt like stepping into a living museum, but one where we were welcomed and comfortable.
We booked the Corner King Suite and were immediately transported back in time. The room’s décor was stunning, filled with authentic 1930s antiques. The centerpiece was undoubtedly the large, red antique sofa, which added a real sense of character. We also appreciated the coffee table, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view of the downtown streets below. Also, the bed was incredibly comfortable, fitted with a gel-infused memory foam mattress topper and a hand-quilted comforter – we slept wonderfully.
The inclusion of a made-to-order breakfast was a real plus, adding to the bed-and-breakfast feel. That said, this hotel in Winter Garden Florida also offers a variety of dining options on the ground floor, including Thai Blossom, The Tasting Room, and the upscale Chef’s Table. We also loved the desserts at Scoops Old Fashioned Ice Cream Store and were surprised to find Earl Brigham’s Barbershop, where you can get yourself a haircut.
The location was also convenient, being within a reasonable drive of major Orlando attractions like Disney World and Universal Studios, as well as downtown Orlando. Feel free to bring your rollerblades or simply have a peaceful walk down the 22-mile biking and nature trail right outside the door.

Where to Stay in Winter Garden, Florida
Downtown is undeniably the best place to stay in Winter Garden. Staying here means you’ll be in the heart of Winter Garden, with easy walking access to a variety of attractions. Downtown is home to numerous restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and the historic Garden Theater. It also offers convenient access to the West Orange Trail, a popular path for biking, jogging, and walking. Don’t skip the weekly Winter Garden Farmers Market every Saturday, where you’ll find local produce, crafts, and live music!
Staying somewhere along Plant Street is also a good idea. It’s a lively area with a diverse mix of restaurants, shops, and bars. We love how there are so many unique art galleries and specialty shops for souvenirs and local finds, too.
But for a more tranquil setting, you can stay near Lake Apopka. It offers a more peaceful and secluded environment compared to the downtown area. Here, you’ll have endless opportunities to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Apopka, including exciting activities like fishing and boating. It’s ideal for travelers seeking a more laid-back experience.
