Have you ever heard of Winter Springs? This small city in Florida with a population of roughly 40,000 offers a laid-back, suburban feel compared to other neighboring bustling areas like Orlando. We didn’t expect much of it, but we were genuinely surprised by its relaxed atmosphere and well-maintained outdoor recreational areas. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, this could be a plus. However, you should note that there are no hotels in Winter Springs Florida. But you shouldn’t worry, as we’ve found plenty of accommodations within easy driving distance from it. Below, you’ll find attractive hotels in Altamonte Springs, Orlando, Lake Mary, and other nearby cities!
Are There Hotels in Winter Springs, Florida?
There are no hotels in Winter Springs. It’s primarily a residential community with limited tourism, which is why it lacks a significant number of hotels. Its close proximity to Orlando, a major tourist hub, also means visitors to the area often choose accommodations in neighboring cities like Altamonte Springs, where hotel options are more abundant. Additionally, Winter Springs doesn’t have major attractions that would drive hotel demand, and local zoning may prioritize residential or light commercial developments over large hotel projects. This small city, however, does have award-winning parks and it’s a great place to live for people looking for a small-community feel.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando North
11
Our first recommendation is the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando North, which is less than 20 minutes away from Winter Springs. While we were technically a little bit outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Orlando, we were still close enough to easily access the city and its attractions.
Apart from the location, we were also very happy with our suite. The reason why we chose it was because of its separate living area, which came with a pull-out sofa! We had tons of space to spread out. Some suites even come with conference tables. Talk about being extra!
Moreover, the complimentary breakfast each morning was a fantastic perk. This allowed us to save effort to go out for food. We also took advantage of the evening reception with light appetizers and drinks, which was a nice way to unwind before dinner. Speaking of dining, the on-site steakhouse was fantastic. And if you’re looking for ways to work out, feel free to use the indoor pool and gym.

With affordable rates and impeccable accommodations, the Residence Inn Orlando Altamonte Springs/Maitland is often seen as the top hotels near Winter Springs. We loved being just a short drive from attractions like the Orlando Science Center and the unique Enzian Theater, giving us plenty of options for entertainment.
We wanted to go all out for our stay, which was why we booked the suite. It had a well-equipped kitchenette as well as all the other essentials you can think of. There was even a cozy seating area for when we wanted to take a quick break and watch the TV before resuming our adventure.
However, what truly set this Residence Inn apart was the array of complimentary amenities. The free hot breakfast was so good, and the free parking was great. We also loved the convenience of the grocery delivery service and the fun evening socials, which provided a nice opportunity to mingle with other guests.

Up next is the Home2 Suites By Hilton Lake Mary Orlando. Since the hotel is in Lake Mary, we were just a stone’s throw away from a variety of shopping and dining options – we never had to go far for a good meal or anything we needed. Plus, the fact that we were within easy driving distance of both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios made it an ideal base for exploring the Orlando area. (Psst! Have you read our lists of the best pet-friendly hotels near Disney World Florida and the top villas in Orlando to rent?)
We booked the King Studio Suite, and it was the perfect choice for us. Having a kitchenette with a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave allowed us to prepare some of our own meals. The suite itself was comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Everyone knows how hot Florida can get. Thankfully, the hotel boasts an outdoor saline pool. While we were at the hotel, we also used the grilling area. Speaking of food, the included buffet and American breakfast were surprisingly delicious.

The Courtyard Orlando Altamonte Springs Maitland offers travelers convenient access to both Orlando’s attractions and the natural beauty of the surrounding area. We liked being just a short drive from the Orlando Science Center, which the kids loved, and also having Wekiwa Springs State Park within easy reach for a refreshing dip in the natural springs.
The accommodations are exactly what you expect from a Courtyard hotel. Our room was big, bright, and clean. We also had everything we needed, from a coffeemaker to extremely fast free Wi-Fi. That said, we made sure not to spend all of our time in the room, as the hotel offered plenty of social spaces. We loved spending our afternoon in the courtyard. It was a pleasant space to enjoy the Florida weather.
Every morning, we would kick off our day with Starbucks and the hotel’s American breakfast. We also loved to make a splash in the outdoor swimming pool. But if you’re here for work, feel free to make use of the meeting room.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando Maitland

Our stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando Maitland was filled with laughter and smiles. One of the main reasons was the location. The hotel gave us easy access to the Amway Center for concerts and sporting events, while the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium was just a short drive away. The positioning made it simple to explore the area’s attractions without getting caught in heavy tourist traffic.
The other reason was our spacious suite, which exceeded our expectations with its thoughtful amenities and comfortable furnishings. The fully equipped kitchen was something we didn’t know we badly needed, allowing us to prepare some simple snacks. We particularly appreciated the separate living area with its pull-out sofa, which was our go-to spot for quick naps.
The hotel’s generous amenities made our stay even more enjoyable. We started each day with the complimentary hot breakfast, and the Monday through Thursday evening socials with free dinner and drinks were a welcome surprise that helped us save on dining expenses. It was also the perfect chance for us to meet new people! Of course, the hotel also boasts a swimming pool and a gym. But what we loved the most was the free grocery shopping service – we simply provided our list, and the staff took care of the rest!

Best Suite. Being the biggest hotel north of downtown Orlando, our expectations for Sheraton Orlando North were high. Thankfully, they were all met. We appreciated the proximity to the Orlando Science Center, which was just a short drive away, and while Universal Orlando Resort was a bit further out, it was still within reasonable driving distance. Not to mention, it’s only 15 minutes away from Winter Springs.
We were particularly impressed with the modern amenities offered in our suite. Having free Wi-Fi was essential for us to stay connected, and the flat-screen TV and coffeemaker added extra convenience. Our favorite thing, though, was the private balcony. It was the perfect spot to spend our morning with a cup of coffee.
Beyond the comfortable rooms, the hotel also offered a variety of appealing amenities. The on-site dining options, including the Irish bar, restaurant, and atrium cafe, provided plenty of choices for meals and refreshments. We also enjoyed relaxing by the outdoor pool and hot tub. While the hotel has a 24/7 gym, don’t waste your complimentary access to the nearby Genesis Health Club, which is huge and arguably one of the best gyms in the area.
“The fantastic suites at this hotel are totally worth the extra money. And the amenities? They made our stay from great to flawless.”
