Ohio has something of a split personality. While cities like Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland lead the urban charge, its rural side is way off the grid, especially the enormous Amish Communities with horse-and-buggy-filled roads. Nevertheless, the entire state boasts mild weather, delicious food, and beautiful natural areas, especially the Great Lakes shoreline. After a long day of exploring its towns and cities, we wanted to relax in comfort, which is why we chose to stay in hotels with pool in room in Ohio. And let us tell you, there was no shortage of such amazing places across the entire state. They ranged from luxurious stays to more characterful boutique hotels, which combined traditional decor with all modern hotel luxuries, including a pool or a jacuzzi tub in the room.
What makes it all the better is that there are also many romantic hotels in Ohio. So, whether you’re looking to splurge or save money while still indulging, these hotels stand out. To that end, here are some of the best stays in the Buckeye State with pools or jacuzzi tubs in the room, which, for us, are no less than swimming pools!

Best Western Suites Columbus
11
We begin our list with the reliable Best Western brand in the form of the Best Western Suites Columbus. We had a choice of many rooms and suites, all of which came with flatscreen cable TVs, fridges, and coffeemakers for a comfy and amazing stay. However, our choice was the king suite, which came with a huge jetted hot tub right in the room. The jetted hot tubs at this hotel were painted in various shades of deep maroon and jade green, and our deep maroon tub for two was perfect for a long soak after a long day. And the fact that it was right in the room, just steps from the bed, was a huge bonus.
Our days at this Best Western outpost began with a bang and full complimentary breakfasts every morning. What’s more, the hotel even boasted a gorgeous indoor pool, which happens to be one of the best hotel pools in Columbus, Ohio. When we weren’t laying in the comfort of our in-room jacuzzi, we’d be at the lovely pool. Finally, the hotel offered free Wi-Fi everywhere, including the common areas and the rooms.

Landoll’s Mohican Castle, Loudonville

The Loudonville region of Ohio is simply beautiful, with sweeping vistas of hills, rivers, and low forest hollows of the Memorial State Forest and the Mohican State Park. Right in the heart of the town, just steps from all the verdure, sits the well-kept, sprawling estate that is Landoll’s Mohican Castle. It was akin to a modern-day fairytale castle, complete with a sprawling outdoor patio and porch, a bar and grill, and even a day spa.
At the end of a full day of hiking, canoeing, and ghost hunting at the state park and forest, it felt amazing to return to our spacious suite. Not only did it boast heated bathroom floors, but it also came with a fireplace for cozying up on colder nights with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. The highlight, though, was our own private jacuzzi right in the room, separate from the bathroom. It felt absolutely luxurious to have bubbling waters to soak into just a few steps from our bed!
The rest of the hotel also made us feel like royalty. The hotel has lovely gardens and a terrace that overlooks them. We loved the indoor pool area with the hot tub, another great place to unwind, and the concierge service that arranged for almost anything. The onsite restaurant served everything from American fare to gluten-free options, and it was open for all meals, including evening cocktails! What more could we want?

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ohio State University-OSU Medical Center, Columbus

For those who’re on a budget, the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ohio State University-OSU Medical Center is perfect for some affordable indulgence. This hotel is nestled in the leafy environs of Ohio State University and happens to be home to some of the largest rooms and suites in the city. However, the other reason we chose to stay here was that the suites went further. They made for a real romantic base in the city, thanks to the huge jetted spa bathtub for two that sat right in the room. The jetted tub lay in an open, tiled space just feet from the bed. So, we could switch between bed and bath on our days off from exploring Columbus. Moreover, the fact that it sat behind a wall even afforded a whole lot of privacy, especially during room service.
That’s not all; all rooms came with cloud-liked beds, flatscreen TVs, and coffeemakers. Plus, the rest of the hotel was equally a delight, with amenities such as a free hot breakfast, a whirlpool, and an indoor pool that made staying here an absolute delight.

The Mount Vernon Inn, Mount Vernon

People from Massachusetts settled in the area around Mount Vernon in the 1700s, complete with their flower gardens, forested hills, and quaint little towns that they loved. Mount Vernon Inn is the epitome of that vision, and we loved the historic brick home that the inn sits in, surrounded by lushly landscaped and blooming gardens. We were delighted at the spacious rooms and suites, especially since they came with equally spacious bathrooms. However, the best of them all were the king suites and the houses, which came with in-room hot tubs and jacuzzis! Thus, they made for the ultimate in relaxation right in the confines of our room, and we didn’t even have to step out.
However, we did step out, and the entire hotel felt like we were in the ultimate small-town dream. After a hearty and exceptional continental complimentary breakfast between 7 and 9:30 am every day, we’d stroll the lush gardens. In fact, our concierge would even recommend local restaurants for take-outs and sit-down meals. Modern conveniences such as free parking and Wi-Fi made our stay amazing.

Hampton Inn Columbus-South

Best value for money. Affordable luxury didn’t get any better than at Hampton Inn Columbus-South, which had some of the most spacious rooms and suites in the entire city. What we liked was the immense levels of comfort in every room, regardless of whether they were entry-level or luxurious. Not only did they all come with the brand’s signature Cloud Nine beds, but they also had coffeemakers, flatscreen TVs, and modish bathrooms.
However, the best bit was that some of its best suites, such as the king suite that we were staying in, had hot tubs and jacuzzis right in the rooms! No, we don’t mean the bathroom or the room, just steps from our bed. Our jetted tub sat on a tiled floor space and was large enough for the two of us to unwind and relax. With in-room pay-for entertainment and free Wi-Fi, we’d even take the day off from exploring and spend it relaxing right in our jacuzzi room.
The rest of the hotel was no less impressive, especially since it had an indoor swimming pool and even a whirlpool spa. So, when we weren’t unwinding in the jacuzzi in our room, we’d be at the pool. In fact, you could enjoy a relaxing dip, too, notwithstanding the season you’re traveling in.

South Beach Resort Hotel Cottages and Marina, Marblehead

We’ll say this to anyone and everyone willing to listen – Ohio’s waterfront is sorely underrated. The Lake Erie coast has endless sandy beaches and crystalline waters. That’s why we chose to stay at the South Beach Resort Hotel Cottages and Marina in Marblehead. It’s one of the few resorts in the area that has its very own private beach! What more could we ask for? Not only that, but it also comes with a marina that has paddleboard and jet ski rentals.
But that’s not all, obviously. Most of its rooms and suites, even double ones, come with a jacuzzi right in the room! The jacuzzi, large enough for two people, sits right by the window so we could spend hours unwinding and relaxing in our room. The rest of the room is also impressive, with mod-cons like flatscreen cable TVs and a choice of views, like the pool or the lake. Our room even had a balcony! Aside from the private beach area, the resort had not one but three swimming pools, including an adults-only one. There were also sand volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts, a games room, free parking, and free Wi-Fi access. So, it’s not surprising that many people come back to this resort every year.

Best Western Canal Winchester Inn-Columbus South East

There’s another Best Western on this list; this time, it’s the Best Western Canal Winchester Inn-Columbus South East. Located right on State Route 33, this Best Western outpost was perfect for exploring Columbus and the surrounding region. The amazing digs and amenities make this hotel the perfect base for unwinding and relaxing after a day of exploring and sightseeing.
For instance, our King Suite was the ultimate in relaxation, with a fabulous jacuzzi large enough for two people right in the room. It sat on a tiled portion of the floor separate from the carpeted area so the rest of our room didn’t get wet. Not only that, but it also had a mirror on the side and even bath products, aiding our unwinding in the best way possible. In addition to that, our suite also had an LCD TV, a fridge, and a microwave, and it was the perfect base for relaxing in absolute privacy.
Aside from the stays, the hotel also had a whole lot of other mod-cons. Our days began with delicious complimentary hot breakfasts every morning. When we weren’t unwinding in our rooms, we’d be by the heated indoor swimming pool.

Cambria Hotel Columbus-Polaris
4
Our favorite part about the Cambria Hotel Columbus-Polaris was that we could decide what kind of day we wanted when we woke up in the morning. The reason for that is a mix of the hotel’s amazing, super-clean, and comfy suites and its amenities. Since it was an all-suite hotel, we had a huge choice of modern oversized suites, all of which came with luxurious beds and upscale amenities like fridges, microwaves, and flatscreen LCD TVs. However, we loved the most the spa-like baths that featured Bath and Body Works products. So, we’d spend some days unwinding right in our rooms in the bath, listening to music on the in-room media player and watching movies on the MediaHub.
After a long day of exploring the region and before heading to our jacuzzi, we’d first grab cocktails at the hotel bar. We especially loved the hotel’s indoor pool, which was always peaceful, warm, and great for both adults and kids. What’s more, the wall of windows gave us great views of the greenery around. Other contemporary amenities include free Wi-Fi, a contemporary bistro-style restaurant, a spa, a fitness center, and even a barista gourmet coffee bar in the lobby.

Carlisle Inn, Sugarcreek

Sometimes, it’s fun for us to go far off the beaten path where we can make our own discoveries. The state of Ohio is peppered with historical and quaint towns with sleepy, green settings and relaxed vibes. Sugarcreek is just one of them, complete with farmer’s markets, orchards, fertile farmlands, local wineries, and even rolling hills. local winery to discover.
We had many choices to stay here, but none compared to Carlisle Inn and its highly romantic rooms. We had the choice of 69 rooms and suites, all of which were well-furnished with flatscreen TVs, plush beds, and luxe bathrooms. In fact, they were some of the most spacious rooms and suites we’d seen in the region. But what we loved was that some rooms and suites even came with jacuzzi tubs and whirlpools right in the room. Our suite was mighty spacious and even had a seating area, a fireplace, and a jacuzzi for two people in the corner, allowing us to unwind right in the room. Did you know that our room even had a patio? That, along with room service, ensured that our day spent in the room was absolutely divine.
One of the best parts about the Carlisle Inn was that it fulfilled all of our wraparound front porch fantasies. We felt like royalty as we poured ourselves drinks and soaked in the sunset. Our days began with what many guests have called the “best free breakfast you’ll ever find,” along with delicious snacks and dinners at the onsite restaurant. Plus, there’s even an onsite market, free Wi-Fi, a children’s playground, a gift store, a fitness center, and an onsite theater with live performances.

Inn At Honey Run, Millersburg
2
We don’t wish to make any bold statements, but The Inn At Honey Run in Millersburg might just be one of the most romantic, couple-friendly hotels in all of Ohio. When we stayed here, they practically rolled out the red carpet for us as we’d been celebrating our anniversary. The adults-only hotel was a one-of-a-kind open-air art museum, and the warm and friendly staff welcomed us and gave us a tour.
When we opened the doors to our room, we were delighted to find a bottle of wine waiting for us. The room, just like others, was beautiful and spacious and had huge windows with sweeping views of the rolling hills beyond. However, we were most bowled over by our chosen abode, the Club-Level Guest Cottage, which had a huge jacuzzi tub on the balcony! So, on our days off from exploring the town, we’d simply lounge on the balcony in the bubbling waters, unwinding with a glass of wine.
“This adults-only hotel was the perfect romantic getaway for us in Ohio!”
WOW Travel
The rest of the hotel was equally amazing. We’d eat seasonal cuisine at the onsite fine-dining restaurant and then relax on the outdoor patio with forest views. We could rent bicycles to explore the neighborhood, enjoy picnic lunches on the grounds, and even take classes to explore the local culture.

Belamere Suites, Perrysburg

Most romantic. The adults-only Belamere Suites is famously known as the most romantic hotel in the entire country, and it’s easy to see why! Tucked in the lovely town of Perrysburg, just outside Toledo, this hotel feels like a country estate. It sits overlooking a lovely water body and happens to be one of the most romantic hotels in Perrysburg, Ohio.
What makes the hotel famous is its windowless but soundproofed and seriously swish stays. There are just four suites, all of which have their own personal swimming pools! That’s why this is one of the best hotels with swimming pools in the room in Ohio. While all of them were great, we loved the Grand Royal Swiming Pool Suite, which came with a fireplace, a dry heat sauna, and the most gorgeous in-room pool. So, when we wanted to unwind, we’d order room service, open a bottle of wine or champagne, and swim and lounge to our heart’s content.
What made staying here all the more special was the slew of add-on packages that ranged from in-room massages to midnight snack baskets. Our days would begin with a bubbly in-room breakfast, followed by spa sessions, chocolate-covered strawberries, and lounging on a rose-filled bed. It’s no wonder that Belamere Suites won the title of the country’s most romantic hotel in 2018 at TripAdvisor’s 16th annual Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Where to Stay in Ohio?
The state of Ohio is fittingly known as ‘the heart of it all,’ lying right in the middle of the Midwest, with its northern border majorly made up by Lake Erie. This very diverse place is home to an enticing mix of bustling metropolises, cities, and small towns, with natural beauty never far away.
We begin with ‘Queen City’ Cincinnati on the northern banks of the Ohio River in the southwestern corner of the state. It might have been a sleepy Midwestern metropolis earlier, but it’s an important cultural and economic hub today. It boasts an iconic skyline and is home to 19th-century architectural marvels, museums, parks, and entertainment options, coming to be known as the ‘Athens of the West.’ Secondly, there’s the largest city and state capital, the cosmopolitan Columbus. It’s awash with everything from historic sites and museums to theaters and nightlife.
Terrific Toledo at the western edge of Lake Erie boasts a happening culture and arts scene and has lots of beautiful historic buildings, and riverside restaurants and parks. Youngstown and Cleveland have everything from museums and art galleries to restaurants and entertainment centers, while we loved Westerville for its distinctive Dutch look and Native American history. Canton has professional American football and lots of greenery everywhere, while the attractive Akron has a rich history, heritage, and culture for us to delve into.
