The Mardi Gras Hotel is proof that a Las Vegas hotel doesn’t always have to be pricey to be good. And what’s even more impressive is that this hotel is only minutes away from the Strip! For us, the location was a real plus.
The fact that we could walk to several key attractions was a huge bonus. We easily walked to Circus Circus, which was a fun experience. The High Roller observation wheel and the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian were also within comfortable walking distance, giving us plenty of options for entertainment and shopping without needing to rely on taxis or ride-sharing services for short trips. For us, the location was a major selling point, providing a great balance of affordability and accessibility to the best of Vegas.
“We never imagined we could find such an affordable hotel with such a great location. This hotel is such good value for money, especially in Sin City.”

Pool View Room
The Mardi Gras Hotel also offers a range of accommodation options to suit various needs, from the Standard King Room to more spacious One and Two-Bed Queen Rooms. We ultimately decided on the Queen Room with Pool View, which turned out to be an excellent choice for our stay.
Our non-smoking room was conveniently situated on the ground floor, giving us direct access to the spacious pool deck area. The layout made it easy to enjoy the pool ambiance from our room. The proximity to the pool area might also make this room particularly appealing during warmer months.
Inside, we discovered a well-thought-out space featuring a comfortable queen-sized bed and a small, cozy living area that doubled as a bar-work space – perfect for both relaxation and getting some work done. The addition of a refrigerator was also handy for keeping our drinks and snacks cool. And despite being a budget hotel, the free Wi-Fi was exceptionally fast!

Thoughtful Amenities
Don’t let the affordable rates fool you! The Mardi Gras Hotel knows how to pamper its guests with well-maintained amenities. The outdoor swimming pool was our favorite spot to unwind. We appreciated its generous size and pristine condition, with plenty of loungers available. What really enhanced our experience was how uncrowded it felt – we never had to compete for pool space or seating.
We also spent some delightful time in the whirlpool spa, which operates from 9 AM to 9 PM. The warm, bubbling waters were exactly what we needed to melt away our tension, especially during the chilly evenings. And once we were done, we would relax a little bit more in the courtyard.
For longer stays, the coin-operated laundry on the second floor can be convenient. Having this facility right in the building means guests can easily freshen up their wardrobes without having to venture out to find a laundromat.

24/7 Luck
Of course, during our stay at The Mardi Gras Hotel, we also checked out the casino. Unlike the overwhelming size of many Vegas casinos, this venue offers a more relaxed atmosphere with its carefully curated selection of 50 gaming machines. When we were there, we found video poker, video reel machines, Keno, and many others that were enough to keep us entertained. It’s not the biggest casino we’ve ever been to, but it felt comfortable and wasn’t overwhelmingly crowded.
We particularly appreciated the casino’s impressive rewards program. Their standout 10x points offer on every game, regardless of the time or day, gives us significantly more value than what we’ve found at other establishments. This kind of consistent reward structure means you don’t have to time your visits around special promotions.
Moreover, one of the biggest pluses of this casino is the fact that it’s open 24/7. They really do live up to the “luck is always present” motto, at least in terms of accessibility. No matter what time you feel like trying your luck, the doors are always open.

Café and Bar
Aside from affordable rooms, the Mardi Gras Hotel also provides its guests with affordable on-site dining. Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can always rely on the Bon Temps Café. One of the highlights for us was the Happy Hour. They actually have it twice a day, which is a pretty sweet deal. You can snag half-price drinks from 4 to 6 PM and then again from 12 to 2 AM. This is a great way to save a few bucks and enjoy some drinks without breaking the bank.
Beyond the café, we also spent some time at the on-site bar. It had a good selection of drinks, and we particularly enjoyed the Blue Moon draft served with orange slices. It’s a classic for a reason, and they did it right.

Conclusion
The Mardi Gras Hotel in Las Vegas offers a convenient and budget-friendly stay with a touch of classic Vegas charm. Its prime location near the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Strip makes it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. Guests can enjoy comfortable rooms, a 24-hour casino, an outdoor pool, and a whirlpool spa. The hotel also offers free parking, adding value to your stay. As you may have read from other Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino reviews, it may not be the flashiest resort on the Strip. However, we think it’s fair to say that it provides a comfortable and affordable base for exploring the city.
