The Westin New Orleans

Our stay at The Westin New Orleans was a whirlwind of excitement! Right on Canal Street with the Mississippi River in view, it offered us a perfect starting point to explore the city. We were steps away from the Shops at Canal Place, Royal Street boutiques, and Bourbon Street’s vibrant food scene. We also have to say that the hotel delivered on all fronts. Our spacious River Suite felt like a whole apartment, boasting incredible river views. We were pampered with luxurious amenities like a Heavenly marble bathroom and 24-hour room service.
Moreover, the hotel’s restaurants offered various dining options, from the fancy Observatory Eleven with its stunning views to the casual Bistro at the Bend, serving delicious breakfast and Cajun fare. Live music nights at Observatory Eleven added to the overall fantastic vibe. Meanwhile, the 24/7 fitness center helped us stay on track with our workouts, and a nearby spa offered a variety of treatments for ultimate relaxation.

Best Location. The SpringHill Suites by Marriott New Orleans Downtown/Canal Street isn’t right in the heart of the action. Instead, it’s tucked away in an industrial area off the highway. But that means it’s quiet and peaceful – a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter. We truly enjoyed our time at the hotel. Aside from the peaceful location, we enjoyed our suite. It was warmly decorated and more spacious than we thought.
Another highlight of our stay was the free breakfast buffet. It tasted so good and was much-needed, especially with all the walking we did. The rooftop bar, with its colorful atmosphere and delicious tapas and cocktails, was the perfect spot to unwind in the evenings. We enjoyed hanging out in the lobby lounge, too. While we were at the hotel, we would also try squeezing in a workout at the gym as often as possible.

The AC Hotel by Marriott French Quarter is another option that offers the perfect blend of modern style and convenient access. Set in a historic building, we truly enjoyed the chic and contemporary aesthetic. Aside from that, we could easily explore iconic sights like the Superdome and the French Quarter. But you can chill in the room if you’re not in the mood for some explorations. We stayed in the one-bedroom suite, and it offered a vast living area with parquet floors, a king-sized bed, and a workstation.

Best Value for Money. Only a block off the buzz of Bourbon Street is the Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans French Quarter/Iberville. The hotel had everything we ever needed, and we were impressed. We loved grabbing a quick bite at the cafe, which offered breakfast and dinner options and drinks throughout the day. For a workout, we would use the gym, and if we needed anything else, there was even a 24-hour convenience store on-site.
Our room, the King Suite with a Sofa Bed, was spacious and comfortable. The separate sitting area with a sofa bed and flat-screen TV was perfect for relaxing after a day full of sightseeing. We also appreciated having a coffee machine and refrigerator in the room, which was handy for mornings on the go. While this isn’t your fanciest hotel, it sure offers great value and experience for the money.

The Ritz-Carlton

Best Luxury. The Ritz-Carlton is the answer if you’re looking for the most luxurious hotel by New Orleans Marriott in the French Quarter. Every part and amenity of this hotel screams luxury. For us, one of the highlights of the hotel was the spa. It was massive – 25,000 sq ft! It offered an incredible range of treatments, and we indulged in the signature massage and felt completely rejuvenated afterward. The hotel also had other fantastic amenities like 24-hour room service and even a complimentary overnight shoeshine service. Those are details that show just how much the Ritz-Carlton cares about its guests.
Our city-view room was impeccably decorated, and I felt so comfortable. We loved having a fully-stocked mini-bar to enjoy after exploring the Big Easy, and the plush bathrobes and slippers were a delightful touch. Plus, the bathroom amenities felt high-end, making it a spa-like experience every time we showered. Lastly, the location of the hotel made it super easy to explore the city. The historic mansions of the Garden District were just a short drive away, and we also enjoyed strolling through the Shops at Canal Place and visiting the Aquarium of the Americas, both within walking distance.
“No matter where you go, you won’t be disappointed with The Ritz-Carlton. This one delivers in every aspect flawlessly.”

Where to Stay in New Orleans?
Of course, the first place that comes to mind is the French Quarter. This is the heart of New Orleans, with all the sights and sounds you’d expect. It’s packed with historic buildings, charming courtyards, world-famous Bourbon Street, and tons of restaurants and bars. If you want to be in the middle of the action, this is the place to stay.
In addition to the iconic French Quarter, there’s also the Warehouse District. This up-and-coming area is a great option if you want something more modern and stylish. There are plenty of art galleries, restaurants, and shops to explore here, and it’s still within walking distance of the French Quarter.
Then, there’s the Garden District. This historic neighborhood is known for its beautiful antebellum mansions and lush gardens. It’s a great place to stay if you want a more peaceful and upscale experience. However, it’s not as close to the action as the French Quarter or Warehouse District.
Is it better to stay in the French Quarter or Bourbon Street?
It depends on whether you want a full cultural immersion or a nonstop party scene. The French Quarter offers a wider experience with charming architecture, history, and diverse nightlife options. Bourbon Street, on the other hand, is loud, party-centric, and just one slice of the Quarter’s vibrancy.
