The beautiful city of New Orleans is a city pulsating with rhythm and brimming with a unique cultural life. However, such a place also demands accommodation that can match its vivacious spirit. Whenever we were visiting the Big Easy, we would often get caught in a whirlwind of options. However, amidst the choices, we sometimes found there was a certain allure to simplicity, and the New Orleans Marriott Courtyard is precisely that. Today, we want to show you our experience at these hotels, particularly the Courtyard by Marriott French Quarter/Iberville, which we think is the perfect all-rounder. Unmatched location, spacious rooms, luxurious amenities – you name it.
In addition to that, there are four other Courtyard by Marriott hotels that we also want to recommend. Though under the same brand, they’re slightly different and have their unique charm. Nevertheless, a stay at one of the following accommodations won’t disappoint.

Courtyard by Marriott French Quarter/Iberville
In the heart of the French Quarter
Say hello to the Courtyard by Marriott French Quarter/Iberville. As you can probably guess, we were sold by the hotel’s location. It offered us the best of both worlds: convenience and access to the excitement of New Orleans. Being right in the heart of the French Quarter, we were just steps away from iconic sites like Bourbon Street, Canal Street, and Jackson Square. Plus, the House of Blues was practically around the corner for a night of live music. This location was perfect for our group trip, giving us easy access to all the must-see sights without feeling overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle.

Luxurious wellness experience
Speaking of location, the Courtyard by Marriott French Quarter/Iberville also benefits from being adjacent to The Ritz-Carlton. This means guests can take advantage of the fancy hotel’s amenities, like the Ritz-Carlton Spa. It’s a luxurious retreat that offers a taste of 19th-century French Quarter elegance. Of course, we had to give it a try.
We were awed by the 22 treatment rooms, variety of massages, relaxing café, and even the spa’s own fitness center and pool! While this spa experience cost us a 25 USD daily access fee, it was worth the money.
But if you don’t want to spend extra money, you can still take advantage of the hotel’s free 24/7 fitness center. Whether you’re looking for a quick cardio session or a full-body strength workout, you can stay on track with your fitness routine here.

Spacious suite
For our stay, we chose Courtyard by Marriott French Quarter/Iberville‘s one-bedroom suite, and it was fantastic. The suite felt modern and calming thanks to the neutral color scheme. We especially appreciated the separate sitting area with a sofa bed and a flat-screen TV. It was perfect for relaxation. The amenities were great too – having a coffee machine and a refrigerator in the room was a huge convenience. The bathroom was spotless, which is always a plus!
“With this hotel, what you see is what you get. Our suite looked exactly like the pictures and felt so cozy.”

Dining made easy
When it comes to dining, you have nothing to worry about. Courtyard by Marriott French Quarter/Iberville is home to Vieux Carre Café. This on-site cafe serves a mix of fast, fresh meals alongside flat-bread pizzas. Plus, there’s Starbucks coffee to jumpstart your day. We were also amazed that it had a selection of craft beers and wine. However, keep in mind that it’s only open for breakfast and dinner, so no lunch service here.
Additionally, there’s The Market. It’s a grab-and-go style spot that’s open all day. It has a variety of food and beverage options, so you can satisfy cravings or grab a drink on the go, anytime you need it. We loved going there for late-night munchies and early mornings when we needed a quick bite.

Other Marriott Courtyard Hotels in NOLA
In addition to that, there are still a few hotels by Marriott Courtyard in NOLA. Though they have different offerings, they still offer amazing experiences, especially if you prefer a modern, clean, and convenient hotel. Please take a look at them below!
Courtyard by Marriott NOLA Warehouse Arts District
We had the chance to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott NOLA Warehouse Arts District and found it to be a great choice for exploring the city. It was a mere 8-minute walk from the Saenger Theatre and a 10-minute stroll to the heart of the French Quarter with its famous eateries and lively jazz clubs. Aside from the location, we were impressed by our King Room. It was comfortable and understated, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Upgraded rooms even have pull-out sofas, which would be handy for families or groups. If you’re looking for extra space, the suites are the right choice.
Downstairs, the chic bistro in the lobby was our favorite spot to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some cocktails. We also loved relaxing by the outdoor pool. The sundeck with loungers and umbrella-shaded tables was perfect for catching some rays, while the hot tub soothed our tired muscles effortlessly. For those who like to stay active, there’s also a fitness room on-site.

Courtyard by Marriott NOLA Downtown Near the French Quarter
The next one is the Courtyard by Marriott NOLA Downtown Near the French Quarter. The hotel felt spacious and bright, with a cool 6-story atrium. Our room, the King Room, was a good size and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Plus, having a work desk in the room was handy for catching up on emails. Waking up to a cup of coffee or tea brewed in-room was a nice touch too.
Another thing worth highlighting was the on-site restaurant, CJ Michel. It had a good variety of options for breakfast, dinner, and even evening cocktails. There was also a 24-hour convenience store on-site, which we loved as it allowed us to grab some snacks or drinks easily. For those looking to stay active, the hotel has a fitness center with an elliptical machine.

Courtyard by Marriott Metairie
What we have here is the Courtyard by Marriott Metairie. Technically, it’s not part of NOLA. But if you need more options, it’s worth considering. The first thing that we noticed about the hotel was its great social atmosphere. The lobby felt inviting, almost like a living room, and there was a lovely outdoor courtyard to relax in. The American restaurant on-site was a huge plus, serving breakfast, dinner, and even having Starbucks coffee available. We also enjoyed working out in the exercise room and taking a dip in the outdoor pool.
What about the room? We booked the King Room, and it was even better than the pictures. We had free Wi-Fi to stay connected, a TV with plenty of channels to unwind with, and a desk and coffeemaker for those mornings we needed to catch up on work. If you’re looking for a bit more space, the hotel also has suites and upgraded rooms with living areas and pull-out sofas.

Courtyard by Marriott Westbank/Gretna
Rounding up this list is the Courtyard by Marriott Westbank/Gretna. Similar to our previous pick, this hotel is slightly out of NOLA. However, it was still a short drive to everything we wanted to see, including the Aquarium of the Americas (4 mi away) and the bustling Jackson Square with its performers, artists, and local restaurants (5 mi away).
Each room on the property is bright and airy, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. You can also expect all the essentials, from free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs to microwaves and coffeemakers. While we were at the hotel, we enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat at the casual restaurant, and the indoor pool allowed us to relax despite the weather. We also liked the gym, which allowed us to stay active on vacation.
