French Quarter’s beating heart
The Omni Royal Hotel is the kind of hotel one simply can’t help falling in love with. Among all of the amazing things it offers is its location, which is in the heart of the French Quarter. This iconic neighborhood is the soul of New Orleans, and staying smack dab in the center allowed us to be at the center of the action. Being a 4-diamond luxury hotel, we knew we were in for a treat, and the location didn’t disappoint. Plus, the hotel sits on the corner of St. Louis Street and Royal Street. This meant we had fantastic access to everything the French Quarter has to offer.
Exploring the vibrant shops, delicious restaurants, and lively nightlife was just a step outside our doorstep. And for those days when we wanted to venture a little further, the streetcars at Toulouse Station were only a short 5-minute walk away, making it easy to zip around the city.

Petite luxury
We’re impressed by the rooms at the Omni Royal Hotel, and you’ll feel the same. The hotel boasts 345 rooms and suites, all decorated in a modern, luxurious style. This definitely isn’t your old French Quarter hotel! Are you looking for an Omni Royal Orleans balcony room? Perfect! The most exciting update is the addition of 24 wrought-iron balconies overlooking the famed streets below. Imagine sipping coffee in the morning with a view of Royal Street.
Since we wanted to go all out, we ended up booking the Petite Suite, which came with a jetted tub. At 525 sq ft, it sure wasn’t petite. In fact, it felt like we were staying in a luxurious apartment. The king-sized bed gave us a night’s sleep, and the jetted tub in the large bathroom was a highlight. Imagine staying here with your lover! Plus, the full-size sofa bed redefined the meaning of a quick nap.
“We’ve always known that we love the finer things in life. But even so, this Petite Suite still managed to surprise us with its elegance and lavishness.”

Fine dining at its finest
The dining options at Omni Royal Hotel made our stay even more phenomenal. Whether you’re craving a fancy night out or a quick bite on the go, this hotel has something to offer.
We’d head to the Rib Room when we wanted to have a fancy night out. We heard it’s been a local favorite for over 50 years, frequented by famous writers and politicians. It focuses on classic dishes with a modern twist, cooked in their signature rotisserie. We ordered the Fried Oyster Deviled Eggs, French Quarter Cauliflower Wings, Rib Room Salad, Pan Seared Salmon, and Crab Stuffed Redfish. They all tasted so good! There’s also a separate bar if you want drinks.
You’ll want to be at La Riviera on the rooftop for something more casual. When we first visited it, we were awed. It was our favorite place to sip our favorite cocktails and enjoy some light bites while viewing the French Quarter and the river.

Moreover, the hotel also has a stunning heated rooftop pool that’s open year-round. We loved taking a dip when the weather was nice, all while enjoying the incredible views of the French Quarter. Plus, with healthy meal options available on-site, you never have to stray far for a nutritious bite to eat. Omni Royal made it easy to prioritize our well-being during our stay.
