It’s no secret that La Quinta has been our go-to pet-friendly hotel whenever we visit a new town. And to no one’s surprise, we gave La Quinta by Wyndham Duluth a go for this trip. As expected, our experience of staying here was satisfactory, especially with the hotel’s hospitality to both us and our pets.

For starters, the hotel’s inclusive pet policy includes welcoming both cats and dogs up to 75 lbs for a pet fee of $25 per night. We were also allowed a maximum of two dogs, so none of our furry buddies were left behind on this trip. To make things better, our dogs were also given plenty of treats during our check-in.

As for the hotel itself, it was perfect for every pet parent. They had ample space around the hotel to take our dogs for walks and potty time. Plus, the front desk provides waste bags for our convenience. Beyond that, our guestroom was plenty comfortable for our two dogs. The furniture was modern, and we got lots of amenities, including a big couch for our dogs to laze around. The best part was that our well-behaved dogs were allowed to be left unattended in the room, so we had time to check out the pool.

Furthermore, our other favorite features of the hotel include the free breakfasts, free airport shuttle, on-site snack bar, and the hotel’s location. Since we were traveling by car, we could easily get to the hotel from Route 53. Overall, the hotel proved to be a convenient place to settle with our dogs.

Located right in downtown Superior, Cobblestone Hotel & Suites – Superior Duluth proved to be an excellent starting point to explore the city. Just by the hotel were places like Downtown Superior and Pfiffner Pioneer Park. And with the hotel having dog-friendly rooms available, we got to go around town with our dog tagging along.

It also helped that the hotel’s pet policy was pretty simple. We were allowed a maximum of two dogs weighing below 40 lbs per room, with only a $25 pet fee per pet per night. Beyond that, the hotel was also attentive to our dog’s needs. We were provided with dog treats at the front desk and a grassy area to take our dog for potty breaks. Furthermore, the room we got was plenty nice, not to mention comfy and spacious. Plus, the in-room amenities met all our necessities, so both we and our dog got to have a relaxing stay.

Lastly, the hotel had facilities, including a coffee shop with a spacious outdoor patio where we could hang out with our dog, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. That said, we weren’t allowed to leave our pet unattended in the room, but it only meant we had more chances to take our dog around the area.

Best Pet-Friendly Hotel With No Pet Fee. For all our time traveling through the States, we can always rely on the Super 8 Hotels to provide a cozy pet-friendly abode. And this time, it’s no different with the Super 8 by Wyndham Duluth. Not only did we get to have a snuggly pet-friendly room to ourselves, but we also got it for a fantastic deal. In fact, the hotel’s overall pet policy was a pet parent’s dream, too. For starters, each guests were allowed to bring two dogs with no size and breed restriction, plus, no pet fee.

To top it off, the hotel’s hospitality and services were beyond satisfactory. The staff were nice and attentive to both us and our pet dog. They helped us have a smooth check-in and promptly ushered us to our room, which, to our delight, was cozy and had a settee for our dog to lounge on. Furthermore, the hotel itself was great. The freebies include free breakfast and free parking. It also had a spacious green area to walk our dog and was only about eight minutes from most of the water sports attractions in Lake Superior.

AmericInn by Wyndham Duluth

The AmericInn by Wyndham Duluth stood out to us for two things. First, for the hotel’s affinity for furry guests. And second, for its proximity to Duluth International Airport and Highway 53, which makes them easily accessible for pet parents traveling by either car or plane. Furthermore, the fact that the hotel’s pet policy welcomes both cats and dogs of any size gives them an instant win in our book.

Beyond that, the hotel provides cozy and pristine accommodation for us and our dogs. The place was squeaky clean and overall had a nice modern interior, which extended to their guestrooms. We stayed in one of the Standard King guestrooms, and it proved to be comfortable and spacious enough for us and our two dogs. There were also facilities like an indoor pool, a fitness center, free breakfasts, and parking.

That said, we had to pay a $20 pet fee per night for each dog. But considering the quality hospitality we got, it was a steal. There was an ample green area to take our dogs for potty, and the neighborhood was pretty walkable, so we had no problem walking our dogs. Plus, Miller Hill Mall was just across the street.

Days Inn and Suites by Wyndham Duluth by the Mall

Another pet-friendly hotel that caught our eyes in the Cottonwood Avenue area was Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Duluth by the Mall. Just like the name suggests, this hotel has the advantage of being close to the Miller Hill Mall. On top of that, they’re one of the pet-friendly hotels in Duluth, Minnesota, that’s inclusive to both cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. To make things better, the hotel’s pet fee is a neat $10/pet per night.

That said, with such a great deal, we got to have a comfy modern guestroom to ourselves. Since the pet limit per room is two, we didn’t hesitate to haul two of our cats with us. The cats found the room particularly cozy, too, especially since we got nice direct sunlight from the room’s big windows.

There wasn’t much in terms of pet amenities, but for dog owners, the hotel does have a green area to take dogs for walks and potty. Beyond that, we were pampered with amenities like free breakfasts, free parking, and an indoor pool. Furthermore, with the hotel being so close to the mall, the hotel’s no-pets-left-unattened-in-the-room policy was no biggie for us.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Duluth North

The Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Duluth North is hands down one of the best pet-friendly hotels in Duluth, Minnesota, we’ve been to. Even before we got to the hotel, we could already enjoy the hotel’s impeccable service from the moment we landed in Duluth. Thanks to their free shuttle services, our little family of two dogs didn’t have to worry about transportation.

Furthermore, our dogs got the warmest welcome when we got to the hotel. There were some head scratches and to our dogs’ double delight, some treats, too. As for us, we were just happy that our dogs were getting top-tier hospitality from the staff, and we got to have a smooth check-in. That said, the hotel’s pet policy was just the cherry on top. The pet fee was a flat $30 per stay for a maximum of two pets, which can be either cats or dogs, with a weight limit of 65 lbs.

Beyond that, the hotel itself was excellent. Everything was modern and contemporary, including the guest room we got. It was spacious and had ample natural lighting, with amenities like a settee and a cable TV. Though our dogs weren’t allowed unattended in the room, it didn’t stop us from enjoying the hotel’s facilities, especially when the indoor pool had a big waterslide. To top it off, we also got freebies, including breakfast, parking, and shuttle rides to Downtown Duluth.

Best Pet-Friendly Hotel for Feline Pet. Tru by Hilton is a staple pet-friendly hotel for us. Each stay, including our recent one at Tru by Hilton Duluth Mall Area, has consistently left us satisfied. Not only was the hospitality always on point, but with this particular Tru by Hilton being near Highway 194, we could easily reach them by car. Plus, driving to Downtown Duluth only took about 15 minutes.

Now, what made Tru one of our go-to pet-friendly hotels is its inclusive pet policy. Whether we’re traveling with our cats or dogs, we always know that Tru by Hilton will welcome us with open arms. To top it off, the pet fee is also an affordable $75 per stay for a max of two pets, with a weight limit of 75 lbs. That said, this time, we had one of our cats with us, and like always, we immensely enjoyed our time here.

The hotel was super sleek, modern, and comfortable. The lobby had pops of color, setting the vibe for an exciting stay. Furthermore, the staff were fast on their feet and made sure we were well taken care of. After helping us check in, we were taken to our well-appointed room. We especially liked how breezy the room was, and it had a wooden floor, which made cleaning after our cat easier.

Lastly, while our pet wasn’t allowed to be left alone in the room, we could still take turns to enjoy the hotel’s free breakfast or go to the fitness center. Other than that, we’d just opt for hanging out with our cat on the hotel’s patio or take her for a walk in the area.

Residence Inn Duluth

One of the biggest conveniences of staying at Residence Inn Duluth was its apartment-style guestrooms. This was especially useful for us pet parents since we need the extra space for our pets. Plus, the fully equipped kitchen also gives the accommodation a homey feel, which is always a welcomed vibe.

That said, Residence Inn Duluth didn’t only stand to us for its fantastic guestrooms but also for its hospitality and, most importantly, its pet policy. We had two dogs with us, so the $75 plus tax pet fee per stay counts as a good deal for us. The hotel also allows a max of either two dogs or cats per room. Plus, our pets have amenities, including bowls, waste bags, and a spacious green area for walks and potty time.

Beyond that, we were able to leave our pets unattended in the room as long as they were crated. That way we could head to the fitness center for a bit or the pool. Lastly, when we wanted to hang out with our dogs, the hotel’s patio proved to be a chill place.

Sheraton Duluth Hotel

Best Location. For a luxurious vacation with our pets, we opt for the Sheraton Duluth Hotel, one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Canal Park Duluth, MN. It’s undeniable that at Sheraton, we can expect to have ourselves pampered throughout our stay. It’s also extra special since our dog got to enjoy this experience with us for only a pet fee of $75 per stay, provided our dog weighs below 80 lbs.

Furthermore, the hotel’s downtown location made it super fun to walk around with our dog and explore the city. In fact, Canal Park is only a few blocks over, and the Lakewalk is just across the street. Plus, we got to have a view of Lake Superior from our room, which only further immersed us in the Duluth experience.

That said, the hotel itself was impressive. Everything was pristine and modern, from the interior design to the furniture. The room we had was also just as fantastic, with a wooden floor, a lounge chair, and a coffee maker. While our dog wasn’t allowed unattended in the room, we still took the time to properly enjoy the heated indoor pool and enjoy meals at the hotel’s Restaurant 301.

When it comes to dog-friendly hotels in Duluth, Minnesota, our go-to place is Enger Lofts Hotel. It’s located in the Lincoln Park Craft District, with local coffee shops, restaurants, and shops surrounding the area. Beyond that, the hotel’s rugged industrial aesthetic is what made it stand out to us. It’s housed in a restored 1800s warehouse, with facilities like a coffee shop, a marketplace on the ground floor, and a fitness center.

The hotel’s guestrooms also reflect its charming vibe. The loft-style guestrooms have exposed brick walls, finely curated furniture mixed with live plants, a fully equipped kitchen, and a seating area, so we were set for a cozy staycation at the Enger Lofts Hotel.

Furthermore, the hotel’s pet policy couldn’t be more inviting. We were able to bring two dogs with us for only a pet fee of $25 for each dog per stay. Granted, there’s a weight limit of 55 lbs for the dogs, but other than that, everything was chill. We could leave our dogs in their crates in the room or have them leashed while in the hotel’s common areas.

Endion Inn

Overall Best. When traveling with our furry best friend, we always want to make sure that he can be as comfortable as possible, and thanks to Endion Inn, both us and our dog got to have that. This quaint inn is neatly located in Canal Park Duluth, with Lake Superior directly in our courtyard, and surrounded by gardens, and breezy air. Most importantly, the inn warmly welcomes our four-pawed friends with open arms by providing dog-friendly rooms for only an extra $25 per night.

WOW Travel

With that settled, we were set for a tranquil vacation by the lake. Whether we’re in our room or outside, the coziness prevails. Our room, a spacious studio, had vintage furnishing and a balcony overlooking the lake, which was the perfect spot for our dog to lounge around. The outdoors was expansive, with a wood deck, complete with a sauna and a fire pit, and was a haven for our dog to frolic around.

Lastly, with the inn located on Canal Park, we had plenty of recreational activities to do. From walking along the Lakewalk or checking out the Lake Superior Maritime Museum. Other than that, a lazy day in the hotel was just as fulfilling.

Our Verdict!

Out of all the pet-friendly hotels we have on this list, the Endion Inn won our hearts as the overall best pet-friendly hotel. We just couldn’t move on from its tranquil setting and relaxing atmosphere. That said, we still have other hotels with amazing features that might interest you.

During our trip to Duluth, we mainly stayed in either Downtown Duluth or North Duluth. Both locations proved to be great for pet parents traveling with their furry babies. Both locations also have many good pet-friendly hotels, which you’ll for sure find on this list.

That said, Downtown Duluth’s charm is obviously its proximity to Lake Superior and the Lakewalk that trails along the lake. It was our go-to place each evening and morning to take our four-pawed best friend for a walk. Other than that, the neighborhood is rich in culture and activities. We can easily walk around and check out the local pet-friendly restaurants and coffee shops. if you love the hustle and bustle of the city, then you’d love staying in Downtown Duluth with your pet.

Other than that, North Duluth is more on the quieter side of the city. It’s particularly a favorite location among pet parents driving across states, as it’s close to the highways.
