Kentucky, Louisville, might be world-famous for its fried chicken, but as we’ve found out, it’s also a fantastic destination to bring your pets for a vacation. Not only there are plenty of amazing attractions worth visiting in Louisville, but the city is also very welcoming to pets. In fact, on this trip, we’ve discovered lots of pet-friendly hotels in Louisville, Kentucky, that’ll happily accommodate us and our pets.
Furthermore, known as the Bourbon City, we took extra care in making sure that we stayed in a hotel near famous distilleries in Louisville. And if that isn’t your vibe, the Kentucky Derby is an experience you don’t wanna miss while in town. For more chill activities, we mostly walk around or hang out with our pets at Smothers Park, which is located along the riverwalk. Beyond that, Louisville’s culinary scene is superb, and exploring restaurants is always a great way to get to know a new city.

Hotel Distil, Autograph Collection
11
Best Pet-Friendly Hotel With No Pet Fee. Starting strong on the first on our list with Hotel Distil, Autograph Collection. Located in Downtown Louisville, this pet-friendly hotel offers us more than an ideal starting point to explore this vibrant city. When we first arrived at the hotel, it was like we were stepping inside Louisville’s history. Formerly a barreling warehouse, the hotel perfected the art of presenting history in a modern space.
Not only did the atmosphere suit us great, but the hotel’s staff were also quick on their feet. They didn’t waste any time to make both us and our furry friend comfortable. The checking-in process was quickly done, especially since the hotel’s pet policies were very inclusive. We were allowed a maximum of two dogs in each room, with no size restrictions and no pet fee! If that wasn’t perfect enough, when we got to our pet-friendly room, our dog was greeted with a few amenities for their own. There was a unique bourbon-barrel-shaped dog bed, a costume-tailored PupJoy box, and a Hotel Distil branded chew toy!
The room we got was also well-appointed. The size was ideal for two guests and two pets, with modern amenities, including a coffee machine. All in all, staying at Hotel Distil was an amazing experience for both us and our dog. It was a 10/10 would come back here again.

Staybridge Suites Louisville – East

Moving on to East Louisville, we found ourselves staying at Staybridge Suites Louisville – East. Right off the bat, the hotel was an all-around comfortable place to stay with our cat. The staff were very accommodating to all our and our cat’s needs. When helping us check-in, the staff explained all of the hotel’s pet policies. We were told that the hotel welcomes both cats and dogs, with a maximum of two pets up to 85 lbs per room. Although there was a pet fee of $75, it included up to a 6-night stay for two pets. For a longer stay, the fee comes to $150.
Furthermore, beyond pet-friendly policies, the hotel excelled in hospitality. Our suite boasted ample natural light, creating a warm environment that our cat adored. Equipped with a fully-equipped kitchen, the spacious room met our needs perfectly. And front desk assistance provided us with pet waste bags.
Additionally, the hotel’s perks included a daily complimentary breakfast buffet and light bites. And the hotel’s green spaces and outdoor seating allowed our cat to enjoy some sunshine. Lastly, thanks to our well-behaved cat, we could leave her unattended in the room while we indulged in the hotel’s happy hour.

Residence Inn Louisville Airport

Our next adventure in Louisville brought us to the pet-friendly Residence Inn Louisville Airport. Other than being obviously welcoming to both human guests and furry guests, we stayed here because this time, we had our two chunky dogs with us. Thankfully, Residence Inn Louisville Aiports was one of the pet-friendly hotels that welcome up to three pets, both cats and dogs, with no size restrictions for a reasonable fee of $100 per stay.
Pet policies aside, the hotel had other several notable features. For starters, the location was good enough for us. It wasn’t smack-dabbed in the middle of the city, but it was close to the airport and only six minutes away from the famous Kentucky Derby. Furthermore, their amenities included an outdoor pool, fitness center, BBQ facilities, complimentary breakfasts, and free shuttle services. The outdoor green areas were also ideal for taking our dogs for walks and potty time. The hotel’s pet-friendly policy of allowing crated pets to be unattended in the rooms allowed us to make the most of these facilities.
Moreover, our guestroom, despite having two large dogs, felt spacious and comfortable. Our suite included a kitchen, a dining area, and a big couch in the seating area. Overall, our stay here was satisfactory in every aspect.

Aloft Louisville East

As an internationally renowned hotel, we were confident in Aloft’s hospitality and services. So, it’s no surprise to us that not only does Aloft Louisville East welcome furry guests, but it does so without any extra charges. On top of that, when we stayed here, our pups were treated with enthusiasm and care. The staff even gave him some treats when we were checking in. That said, the pet policies here allowed for up to two dogs, each weighing a maximum of 75lbs per room.
After that was taken care of, we were then brought to our room on the first floor, which was by design because the hotel’s pet-friendly rooms are only on the second and first floors. This policy was so that we had easier access to the green area where we could take our pets for walks and potty time.
That aside, the room itself was very Aloft-coded. There were pops of colors in the furniture, and the room was decent-sized. The in-room amenities were standard, and there were bowls for our dog. Other than that, the room was overall very comfortable. And since pets were allowed unattended in the room inside their crate, we were able to check out some of the hotel’s facilities. Like most Aloft hotels, this one also had an indoor pool, a fitness center, and a common area with a bar.

Galt House Hotel

Galt House Hotel, one of the pet-friendly hotels in Louisville, Kentucky, caught our attention not only for its prime location but also for its welcoming pet policy. When we got here, we were blown away by how luxurious the hotel was. It was situated directly across the Ohio River, so we were guaranteed a spectacular view. And to top it all off, the staff were very attentive to both us and our furry companion.
As we were checking in, the staff cheerfully greeted our pet dog and gifted her some treats. We were also given instructions on the hotel’s policies. Each room was allowed a maximum of two pet dogs weighing up to 45 lbs. The pet fee was $50 per dog, and pets aren’t allowed unattended in the room. It was all pretty standard, and we had nothing to complain about.
The room exceeded our expectations, offering a river view, tasteful decor, and ample amenities that ensured our dog’s comfort. Though we didn’t explore many facilities, such as the pool, the ideal location allowed us to focus on city exploration.

Hancock House

Hancock House is a modern loft-style hotel located in Downtown Louisville. Staying at Hancock House was one of the most unique experiences we’ve ever had. Unlike many hotels, this one didn’t have any on-site staff. That said, we could still easily reach them by email and phone, but beyond that, we were on our own.
With the amenities we had in our loft, we barely needed any assistance, anyway. And since the hotel’s pet policy allows one pet dog weighing up to 75 lbs with a $100 pet fee, we were all set. The loft itself was very spacious. Ours was equipped with a kitchen and a sitting area with a couch and a TV. Everything was clean and pristine. It felt like we were in our own space, a home away from home.
“At first we though with not having on-site staff would be a hassle, but turns out, it only adds to the experience. It truly like we weren’t staying in a hotel, but rather at our own home. Or at least a more elevated version of our home.”
WOW Travel
Overall, we had no issues staying here. The location was great, and the loft was amazing and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Most importantly, our dog was comfortable, and that’s all that matters.

The Myriad Hotel is one of the most stylish dog-friendly hotels in Louisville, KY, that we have on this list. Located in downtown Louisville, this hotel is only minutes away from the city’s main attractions. Lucky for us, the nearest park is only 8 minutes away. That said, with the hotel’s location, we could just walk around to the nearby restaurants, and our dog would call it a happy walking session.
Furthermore, the hotel’s vibrant atmosphere sets a cheery vibe throughout our stay. The guests were mainly hip youngsters, so they, along with the staff, were enthused to have a furry guest among them. Though there was a pet fee, it didn’t hinder us from enjoying our time here. The outdoor pool and bar were mainly where everyone would gather, and our dog had a splendid time hanging around with everyone.
Lastly, the hotel’s guestroom was as aesthetically pleasing as the rest of the hotel. There were splashes of colors everywhere, and the room radiated warmth and comfort. The bed was plushy, and the lounge by the window became our dog’s fave spot.

Hotel Genevieve

Best Style. At Hotel Genevieve, we and our dog were able to travel in style. Just from the decor alone, we can already tell that Hotel Genevieve values not only quality hospitality but also art. The hotel greeted us with an eclectic space with art prints adorning the walls and colorful furniture decorating the lobby. Even the hotel’s “Mini Marche” has a unique interior design, with everything being a vibrant yellow.
Aesthetics aside, Hotel Genevieve also takes special care in making sure we get the best services while staying here. Seeing that we brought our furry friend here, the staff didn’t hesitate to give him extra attention. We did have to pay for a pet fee, but with the experience we got to have here, it was worth it. Plus, our dog was also given a dog bed, bowls, and plenty of treats.
The guest room at the hotel was, as expected, just as finely decorated as the hotel. The amenities we got were top-tier, and everything felt really luxurious. Lastly, the hotel has an ideal location in downtown Louisville, so we could easily walk around and explore the city.

21c Museum Hotel Louisville

Best Pet-Friendly Hotel With No Size Restriction. The 21c Museum Hotel Louisville downtown was truly unlike any pet-friendly hotels we’ve been to. It’s literally a combination of a museum and a hotel. Instead of just stylish decor, the hotel had art works and exhibitions. It’s no wonder the hotel made it to our best hotels in Louisville list. And the fact that we got to bring our four-pawed bestie to this hotel was just the cherry on top.
Furthermore, considering the valuable art pieces throughout the hotel, we anticipated a complex pet policy. However, that wasn’t the case. The hotel warmly accepts both cats and dogs, requiring only a $40 pet fee per stay. Each room allows a maximum of two pets, with no size restrictions.
Moreover, the hotel’s guestroom was perfect. It had enough space to comfortably accommodate us and our dog. We especially loved how pristine the room was, and the natural lighting was a nice feature. Thanks to our well-trained dog, we could leave him alone in the room and explore the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, Proof on Main. Beyond that, we had a great time using the hotel’s bicycles to leisurely explore the city, with our dog comfortably seated in the rear basket.

The Grady Hotel was yet another pet-friendly hotel in Louisville that brought us comfort in luxury. Located in downtown Louisville, this hotel amazed us with its attention to detail. From its interior design to its impeccable services, we were left satisfied. The staff were always ready to help us with our needs, especially since we had a special furry guest with us.
The hotel does have a pet fee, though. It’s $150 per dog and an extra $50 for a second dog per stay. There’s also a size restriction of 40 lbs per dog. The fee might be on the pricier side, but the hotel’s services and hospitality made it worthwhile. In fact, our dog did get a few amenities, too. There was a dog bed and treats waiting for us in our room after we checked in. Speaking about rooms, ours was simply exceptional. We got a room with a city view, and it just elevated the room’s luxury.
All in all, the hotel was an amazing place to stay. With the high-quality service they provided, it’s no wonder it’s a 4-star hotel.

Overall Best. Moxy Louisville Downtown is one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Louisville, KY. One of the best luxury hotels in Kentucky, this hotel gave us the trifecta of an ideal location, top-notch hospitality, and, most importantly, an affinity for dogs. The fact that they were so ecstatic to have a furry guest amongst them secured this hotel a spot on our list.
Pet policy-wise, the hotel only allows one pet dog weighing under 40 lbs per room. There’s also a pet fee of $35 per stay, which isn’t that much considering that the Moxy is a 4-star hotel. Besides, the hotel is partnered with the Kentucky Humane Society, so a portion of the fee goes to a good cause. Other than that, our dog did get a pet-care package waiting for her in the room. The staff was attentive enough to provide bowls, treats, and a dog bed.
Furthermore, while our dog wasn’t allowed to be left unattended in the room, we were still able to enjoy some of the hotel’s facilities. We took turns going to the hotel’s gym and bar. For meals, we often take our dog to the hotel’s outdoor restaurant. Beyond that, we mostly take advantage of the hotel’s downtown location and stroll around the city with our dog.
