Best Western Spartanburg Northwest

The Best Western Spartanburg Northwest is one of our top picks of dog-friendly hotels in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They check out all of the features we look for in a pet-friendly hotel. From a strategic location, quality hospitality, and, most importantly, pet-friendly rooms, they got them all. This time we were traveling by car, so the hotel being near the I-85 saved us a lot of time. Other than that, popular destinations like the University of South Carolina Upstate and the Milliken Arboretum are also only a few minute’s drive away.
Furthermore, the hotel’s hospitality and services were amazing. The staff was extra nice, especially since we brought our furry buddy with us. And thanks to the hotel’s PAWS (Pets Are Welcome at Sonesta) program, we got a good deal with the pet policy. For our one dog, we paid a $75 per stay pet fee, which included a variety of dog amenities. There were bowls, a dog bed, a waterproof mat, and our dog’s faves, a welcome treat.
Overall, our experience of staying here was great. The guestroom was comfortable and had all the necessary amenities we needed. Plus, the hotel had a seasonal outdoor pool, a patio for us to hang out, free breakfast, and also free parking.

Best Value For Money. Offering an outdoor pool, free breakfast, and free parking, the Rodeway Inn Expo Center is next on our list of pet-friendly hotels in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The hotel was great, though a bit dated, but what mattered most was that both us and our dog had a comfortable stay. Plus, their pet policy was pretty simple. Each room is allowed a maximum of two cats or dogs of all sizes for a pet fee of $15 per pet per night.
Furthermore, the staff were fantastic. They helped us have a smooth check-in with our dog and gave us a room on the ground floor for easier access to the exit. The room itself was cozy, with amenities including a mini fridge and a microwave. Beyond that, there wasn’t much in terms of pet amenities, but there was a green area for our dog to go potty, and the staff provided waste bags.

Super 8 by Wyndham Greer/Spartanburg Area

Located off of I-85 near Spartanburg, the Super 8 by Wyndham Greer/Spartanburg Area is a pet-friendly hotel that provides excellent hospitality. Even though the Super 8 is technically a “budget hotel,” that doesn’t mean that its service is subpar. In fact, both us and our dogs received the 5-star treatment here.
It also helped that their pet policy is inclusive of dogs and cats of all sizes. Plus, the pet fee was an affordable $20 per pet per night, so taking our furry buddies didn’t cost too much. That said, there weren’t many pet amenities in our room, but at least the room had a comfy couch for our dog to lounge on. There was also a grassy relief area for our dog, so taking him to the potty wasn’t a hassle.
Furthermore, we were able to leave our well-behaved pup in the room, so we had time to check out the hotel’s outdoor pool. Beyond that, the free amenities include free breakfast and free WiFi. Overall, the hotel itself was pretty standard. Everything was up to par. It was clean and well-maintained, with patches of greenery in the surroundings.

When it comes to it, any hotel in Spartanburg that welcomes pets is a great hotel in our book. That said, the Hampton Inn Spartanburg Hotel exceeded our expectations. Not only were the hospitality and services fantastic, but their pet policy was also one we could get behind. For starters, the hotel opens its doors to cats and dogs of any size and breed. Secondly, the pet fee is a flat $50 for up to a 4-night stay and $75 for longer. Plus, the fee covers a maximum of two dogs per room.
Beyond that, the hotel was overall comfortable to stay at. The room was cozy enough, and our dogs settled just fine. We also got breakfast and parking for freebies. Furthermore, the hotel has an outdoor pool and a fitness center. We might need to drive about 15 minutes to Downtown Spartanburg, but the location was okay. It was near the I-85 exit with Arby’s and a Starbucks within walking distance.

At this hotel, they don’t discriminate between furry buddies. A pet is a pet, and thanks to their pet policy, our feline diva can come with us on this trip.
It’s also nice that the pet fee isn’t steep. For only $20 per pet per night, our cat was able to stay with us. Plus, the hotel’s pet policy allows a maximum of two pets of any size per room. So if you have two chunky dogs with you, then check out Days Inn by Wyndham Spartanburg.
Furthermore, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the services here were amazing for a “budget hotel.” The staff went to great lengths to make sure both us and our cat settled down comfortably. They even put us in a pet-friendly room with plenty of natural light so our cat could bask in it to her heart’s content.
While our cat wasn’t allowed unattended in the room, we could put her on a crate and enjoy the hotel’s facilities, like the pool. For dog owners, there were plenty of green areas for dogs to go potty and to take them for a walk.

As for the facilities, we got free breakfast and parking, and also access to the fitness center.

When traveling with our furry buddies with us, an extra space is a necessity. So when pet-friendly hotels like the Residence Inn by Marriott Spartanburg Westgate offer all-suite guestrooms, we didn’t think twice about booking a room there.
That said, the hotel proved to be a delight to stay at. The pet fee was a bit expensive, but the amazing hospitality was worth it. For our one dog, the pet fee was $150 per stay. And if you have a cat with you, no worries; the hotel also welcomes feline pets. Beyond that, everything was hassle-free. Our room was great; it came with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a comfy couch for our dog to laze around on.
Moreover, since our well-behaved dog was allowed to be unattended in the room, we had time to check out the pool and the sleek gym. But when we do want to hang out with our dog, we’d either take him for a walk around the hotel’s green area or chill by the outdoor patio. This time, we needed a pet-friendly hotel that allows big dogs, and thanks heavens, the Comfort Suites At WestGate Mall pulled through. We did have to pay a pet fee of $50 per pet per night, but it was worth avoiding the headache of finding the proper accommodation. So for pet parents with a chunky cat or dog. the Comfort Suites At WestGate Mall is the hotel for you.
It was also great that the hotel had studio-style guestrooms with an extra seating area since we needed the space with our big dog in tow. We got the standard King Suite, and both we and our dog had no problem comfortably settling in. The staff also made sure that we were cozy by giving our dog some treats and a water bowl. As for us, the free breakfast buffet and parking were peak-quality services.
Furthermore, while we weren’t allowed to leave our dog unattended in the room, we still took turns to enjoy dipping in the pool and working out at the gym. Although technically the Sidney Springs Cottage is a holiday home rental, we couldn’t help but stay here to immerse ourselves in the Spartanburg experience fully and live like a local. The fact that the house was also gorgeous only made us want to stay here more.
It may look quaint, but it has two beautifully decorated bedrooms, a spacious boho-chic living room, and a fully equipped modern kitchen. But what made it stand out to us was the spacious backyard for our dogs to play in and the accompanying patio with a fire pit for us to sit around and make smores at night. Plus, since we had the holiday home to ourselves, our dogs seemed more comfortable and adapted right in.
“Hotels are great, but sometimes it’s worth to go the extra mile and have ourselves staying at a holiday home rental, especially when we have our pets with us.”
WOW Travel
Furthermore, it’s also neatly located in Boiling Spring, where it’s perfectly serene and tranquil, with downtown Spartanburg just a few minutes’ drive away. For us, the retreat felt like an elevated home away from home experience.

Best Location. Located right in the heart of Spartanburg, the Four Points by Sheraton Spartanburg treated us to some serious luxury, just like our kitty deserves. Sure, it wasn’t cheap, but hey, it’s no surprise for a fancy hotel like this. We decided to stay here to see if the service matched the expense, and we’re happy to report that it absolutely did.
The hotel sported a modern contemporary interior design, with high ceilings and sleek furnishing. When we got to the lobby, the vibe was different from our usual budget hotel lodgings. But what’s important was that the staff made sure to accommodate us and our cat accordingly. Knowing that cats can be sensitive to new surroundings, the staff didn’t bother ours too much so she wouldn’t be fussy. Instead, they helped our cat acclimate by giving her some treats. Beyond that, they also gave us a well-lit room, just as our cat liked it.
The flat $75 pet fee per stay seemed reasonable given the hotel’s caliber, and the restriction of one pet per room weighing up to 80 lbs posed no issue for our petite feline friend. The pet policy, although standard, emphasized responsible pet ownership, requiring pets to be supervised and leashed in communal areas.
Overall, the hotel exceeded expectations, justifying its price with top-notch amenities and hospitality. While our furry friend couldn’t partake in the indoor pool or buffet breakfast, we savored every moment of our stay, basking in luxury worthy of both human and feline guests alike.

Overall Best. When it comes to elegance, no one does it like the AC Hotel by Marriott Spartanburg. Just from the looks of the building, we could tell that this was one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Spartanburg, SC, and in a league of its own. It’s located in Downtown Spartanburg, right on Main Street, where the town’s best attractions surround the hotel’s 10-story building. The hotel’s standout feature is its pet-friendly atmosphere. Upon arrival, it was evident that the staff adored having furry companions around. Our dog received VIP treatment, becoming the center of attention with pampering and treats in the lobby.
However, the pet fee was steep at $50 per night per pet, with a limit of three pets (cats/dogs) per room. Unfortunately, the hotel restricts larger pets, allowing only those weighing under 25 lbs. Consequently, we opted to bring only our puppy this time. That said, the hotel maxed out on ensuring our buddy got all the amenities he needed. In our equally elegant guest room, the staff provided a dog bed and bowls for him.
As for us, we didn’t waste any time enjoying the hotel’s many facilities. With our dog sitting comfortably with his leash on or in his crate, we were able to enjoy a splash in the outdoor pool or simply bask in the weather. Other than that, there’s also the fitness center and the hotel’s award-winning restaurant. Exploring the area was also one of our activities, especially since the area is walkable and has tons of pet-friendly spots.
