Candlewood Suites Tyler, an IHG Hotel
11
The Candlewood Suites Tyler, an IHG Hotel, is a perfectly good pet-friendly hotel near the I-69. Its location isn’t smack dabbed in the middle of Downtown Tyler, but you can still reach it in under 10 minutes. Anyways, with pets in tow, we appreciated the quiet neighborhood. Plus, just right across the street, there’s a walking trail leading to a park, which was awesome for taking our dog for walks.
Besides being welcoming to pets, the hotel is also not stingy when it comes to the pet policy and fee. For instance, the hotel allows a maximum of two pets (dogs and cats) per room for only a fee of $75 plus tax for up to a 6-night stay. Beyond that, the fee goes up to $150 plus tax. When it comes to weighing policy, our dog was just under the 80-lb limit, but it was convenient that bigger dogs are allowed here.
Lastly, the hotel is one of the classic reliable chain hotels with every convenient amenity available. Our guest room, for starters, was a comfy suite with a kitchenette and a sitting area with enough space for our dog not to feel stuffy. Since our dog is well-behaved, we could leave him unattended in the room while we enjoyed some coffee time, courtesy of the hotel.

Best Western Lindale Inn
10
On our trip to Tyler, the Western Lindale Inn was one of the first pet-friendly hotels we stayed at. It’s located on South Main Street along the I-20, which is more on the outer part of Tyler. While it’s still quite a drive from central Tyler, we were closer to nature, with Tyler State Park only a 10-minute drive. Plus, for dining options, we got Taco Bell and McDonald’s down the road.
We did have to inform them beforehand about bringing our pet, but beyond that, the staff was very accommodating and helpful. When we arrived with our dog in tow, the staff only asked for the pet fee before showing us to our room. There was no weight limit, and cats were also welcomed at the hotel. So, the check-in process was a breeze.
As for the accommodation itself, everything was pleasing to the eyes. The hotel was clean, and so was our guestroom, too. Our dog was perfectly cozy in the room, and we had ample space to not feel stuffy. The bed was comfy and our dog got to nap on the chairs in the room. In terms of facilities, we mostly enjoyed the free breakfast and had a quick dip at the hotel’s pool. Beyond that, the area is pretty walkable, great for taking our dog for walks.

Holiday Inn Tyler – Conference Center

Best Hotels for Feline Pets. Located right on Broadway Avenue, the Holiday Inn Tyler Conference Center has the location advantage. It’s close enough to downtown Tyler without being too rowdy, and the highway is close enough, making traveling by car a bliss. Plus, we could just cross the road for a selection of America’s classic family restaurants.
Of course, the pet-friendly part is a big reason why we adored this hotel. With a pet policy allowing a maximum of two pets (cats/dogs) for a cheap price of $25 per night, we were hooked. Granted, the pet’s weight limit was 50 lbs, but with us only bringing our cat, it was no problem. Plus, for dog owners, the hotel also had ample green space for potty time and for taking your dog for a walk.
Above all, the hotel’s staff went the extra mile to ensure our cat had a comfortable stay. For starters, they made sure we got the room with the most natural light since our princess of a cat loves napping under the warm spot. As for us, the sunlit room was almost like a mood enhancer. We felt extra chipper and charged for the day.
That said, with the hotel offering amenities like three pools, a fitness center, and a picnic area, we sure needed the extra energy boost. The extra freebies, like free airport shuttle and free parking, only added to the already long list of our favorite things about the hotel.

Best Value for Money. We know that, technically, Casita Baxter is a pet-friendly home rental, but we couldn’t help but spice this list a bit, especially since the perks of Casita Baxter seem endless. For starters, we got to have the whole house for ourselves. So, a bigger space for our dog to roam around and a more private place for us to settle down. Not to mention that the pet policy is super accommodating here. Both cats and dogs are allowed, with no extra fee. Plus, we would never miss out on experiencing Tyler like the locals.
Furthermore, this homely rental gave us the luxury of having a whole house with all the amenities we’d ever need. We had a beautiful fully-furnished living room and kitchen, two bedrooms with four beds total, and a yard for our dog to play around. In short, Casita Baxter couldn’t be more perfect. Also, it’s located in the resident area at Midtown Tyler with a walkable neighborhood and plenty of green space. All in all, Casita Baxter successfully made us feel like we were home away from home, with how easy it was to be comfortable here.

The convenient location also for sure made our experience better. Lowe is just right beside the hotel, and just across the street is a walking trail that leads to Southside Park.
That said, this time, we had two pups with us, and thankfully, the hotel allows a maximum of two dogs per room. Beyond that, their pet policy couldn’t be more straightforward. Both cats and dogs are welcome in the hotel, provided they weigh below 40 lbs. Most importantly, the pet fee was an affordable $25 per pet night, which was quite a steal.
Furthermore, when it comes to their services, we have nothing but high praise for them. Everything was to our taste and standard. The staff always made sure we were comfortable and even provided waste bags for our pups. It’s one of the hotels that welcome pets of all sizes, be it cats or dogs. So whether you have a chunky cat or a puppy, the Residence Inn by Marriott Tyler makes a strong contender.
Beyond that, the pet fee is a clear-cut $100 per stay, which covers two pets per room. As opportunists, we stayed here a few days more than usual to make the most out of the deal. That said, our experience here with our two cats was nothing less than satisfactory. We expected a modern hotel with fantastic amenities and exemplary hospitality, and we got exactly that.

Our stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Tyler-South was nothing short of exceptional, especially for our furry friend. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by their pet-friendly policy, which graciously accommodates cats and dogs weighing below 75 lbs. With a generous allowance of two pets per room and a pet fee that won’t break the bank ($75 for up to 4 nights and $125 for longer stays), it’s clear that they truly understand the importance of including our four-legged family members.
But it wasn’t just the pet policy that impressed us. The hospitality and services at this hotel are top-notch. We were treated to a plethora of freebies, including a delicious breakfast spread and complimentary parking. Plus, the facilities like the pool, jacuzzi, and fitness center added an extra layer of relaxation to our stay.

Best Location. Situated along the Frankston Highway, the Baymont by Wyndham Tyler‘s location perfectly catered to our love for outdoor adventures. With abundant hiking and biking trails nearby—a dream for our nature-loving dog—it was also close to the historic downtown, just a quick 10-minute drive away, adding convenience and charm to our stay.
What truly set this hotel apart was its pet-friendly policies. While the hotel warmly welcomed both dogs and cats of all sizes, the fees are based on pet size. For pets weighing below 25 lbs, it’s $25; above 25 lbs is $50, and above that, it’s $100 per pet per night. We didn’t mind the tiered fee system as long as our dog got to stay with us. Beyond that, there’s a max 2 pets per room policy, and for amenities, there’s a pet relief area and waste bags for pets.
Inside our guestroom, we found a cozy haven with a plush bed, comfortable couch, and wooden floors – perfect for easy clean-up after our dog. The hotel’s overall ambiance exuded relaxation, blending modern facilities with timeless decor. With our pet comfortably settled in our room, we had ample time to enjoy the pool and fitness center and even explore nearby dining options.

To no one’s surprise, our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Tyler was beyond satisfactory. Not only were the hotel’s services exemplary, but the ideal location made our experience super convenient. We were located a mere 10 minutes away from all the exciting places in Tyler. Whether it was the Broadway Square Mall, Downtown Tyler, or Tyler Junior College, they were all only a short drive away.
Furthermore, their pet policy was super simple and standard. For starters, cats and dogs with a 75-lb weight limit are welcome. The pet fee was a flat $75 for stays up to 4 nights and $125 for longer stays. All in all, when planning a longer stay, a flat rate is always the better option in our book.
That said, with our cats meeting the hotel’s pet policies, all that was left was to fully enjoy the hotel’s world-renowned hospitality. From lazing around in our well-appointed, well-lit, and clean guestroom to indulging in a swimming session at the hotel’s pool. Overall Best. The Staybridge Suites Tyler University Area was already popular for being a fantastic accommodation for human guests, and as it turns out, the staff also apply the same high standard for their furry guests. When we got to the hotel, the staff were all smiles and enthusiastic when we arrived with our dog. And in return, our dog loved the attention.
That said, before we got to our room, the staff made sure our dog weighed below 80 lbs and was well-trained (to avoid bothering other guests), as per the hotel’s pet policy. Granted, there’s a pet fee, but all things considered, it was quite the bargain: $75/pet for up to 6 nights and $150/pet for longer. Furthermore, each guest is allowed a max of two pets (dogs or cats) per room.
Other than that, the hotel’s friendly staff and modern facilities were the cherry on top of our experience. It also didn’t hurt that our room was a pristine suite with all the amenities and extra space for our comfort. Plus, we had freebies like free parking, free breakfast, and access to the hotel’s pool and fitness center.
